The update has more than just the camera apk - so if you really want the improved camera, you will need more than just the apk (I don't know what else will be needed)
They've likely modified the kernel also

For your reference.
OK does anyone have the . apk for the camera on the newest update. I screwed up and tried clearing the camera not thinking it would revert to the older version of the camera. I clear the info in the apps menu. If anyone can chime in would be appreciated.

I guess the best place to ask this would be the Gravitron Thread. Don't you feel?
Yeah good idea xD

S Note is a system app, so you need root.
Hmm. . Guess even that's not happening then thanks for the help anyway . Should probably take it to the service center

I have root.... Give me a quick second, i'll update this reply with a link.
Sha-bam
There is a root method available btw, flashed through Odin. For what it's worth, I've had no issues or adverse effects since rooting.

Are you positive? Usually true but it may detect it and try to install it as an update...worth a try. Its not much different though. Smoother transitions but that may just be kitkat

Maybe needs the. Odex file? I hardly ever work with odexed systems, so I wasn't positive if it was required. A quick Googleing suggests it may be needed, so I'll put it up just in case. Gimme just a sec.
Oh btw, the odex file was in the system app folder, right along with the apk.

I have an older version side loaded but can't update the app in the play store because I have a Nexus 5. Does anyone have the new .apk that was released to the play store on 3/19/14? The new version is 2.7.1.57.
Much appreciated!
Never mind as I used an .apk extractor and was successful. For anyone that wants it I have attached the file.
thanks!

Thanks! I didn't realize that earlier I was only searching Nexus 5 threads and not "All". Thought it was odd no one had it. Thanks for the reference link. I'll double check my searching next time.

Thank you! I did a search all last night for "2.7.2.1" and it seemed to just pull up a bunch of roms but thanks for your assistance! :good:
Updated APK from the recent July 2nd ATT Visual Voicemail Update. Pulled the APK from my wife's Moto X. Installed perfectly on my N5. Enjoy!
Edit: Version 2.8.2.21 (forgot to mention that.)
I wonder if this would work on other carriers?

Probably won't. When opening the app it dials the ATT voicemail to begin the setup process.
Dam. That sucks. To bad it can't be modified to dial a different number.

If anyone needs the latest APK of the visual voicemail app I've pulled it and started a new thread with it and previous versions. Can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/themes-apps/app-att-visual-voicemail-version-t2872614
