How to remove G+ and Drive photos from gallery? - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

On my last couple phones, I was able to remove these from being seen by selecting "show media from only in device." With 4.4 I can't seem to find that anywhere. The pictures are really starting to bug me. Any ideas on how to get them to not show?
Thanks!

Hi all
I discovered this morning that when viewing album / photos through the stock gallery, under the "Share" menu, Picasa simply disappeared.
So, I can not send pictures to Picasa anymore.
Is this a known issue ?

I haven't done that for a long time, so I can't even tell if this function has been removed in 4.4 or 4.4.1 kitkat. The option to share to "photos" from the stock gallery is definitely not working, as nothing would happen when you select that option.
In the past I used an app called Picasa tools (an free app) to share photos to specific picasa folder.

Thanks for your proposal
Anyway, I am nearly sure this option was there in 4.4 and vanished with 4.4.1... Too bad it was sooo convenient to be able to directly upload to the appropriate folder...

Gallery issue (Can't delete)

Whenever I open up my gallery I have these few folders showing that I cannot delete. I made sure that the google + sync and everything is disabled as well. I tried to find these images on my phone and can't seem to find them either.
In the attached screen shot, the folders with the picasa (Im guessing that's picasa) logos are the ones giving me this issue. It seems it is logging every picture I have taken in hangouts and putting it in the gallery.
Anyone have any idea how to get rid of these? I was going to do the .nomedia fix, but hell if I could find the folders containing these images.

those images arent on your phone, they are in the cloud. and you cant delete those folders, they arent actually there. you can stop piucasa from syncing though. in the sync settings, disable google photo upload.

organizing photos

Hey guys, I just recently got the Idol 5.5 and can not seem to figure out how to organize my photos into separate albums like I've been able to do on previous phones. Does anyone know how I can achieve this? Thanks in advance!
I haven't tried the gallery app, simply because I'm using "QuickPic" a universally recognised gallery application that lets you view and create albums and is greatly customisable! You might want to try that
I wish it was more compatible with Google Photo. Right now, it tells me to open Gallery to delete any photos

Strange bug with photo sharing to WhatsApp

MHA-L29 stock everything. Used phone clone from Mate 8 to Mate 9.
I am unable to share photos to WhatsApp. Just does not appear on available share apps. I can however share videos and strangely, I can share two photos.
From gallery, if I select two photos, WhatsApp appears immediately on the share to list. Uncheck one photo and it disappears.
I can however select photos from within WhatsApp so it's not a permission problem. I cannot share from File Manager either.
Thought I might have selected to shoot photos in RAW, but that's not it either, selecting old photos taken with Mate 8 and screenshots doesn't work. Re-installed WhatsApp, re-started, tried again, still no go.
On my mate9 sharing to whatsapp was hidden behind the "more" icon, after using it a couple of times it was visible in the first icons.
Unfortunately it's not that. Selecting two or more photos and WhatsApp appears on the list. Its there for videos and links from Chrome also.
I have the exact same issue with Textra. I was about to post a thread about not being able to share directly to Textra, then found this thread. I hadn't realized that trying to send two photos at once would "fix" the issue, but sure enough, if I select two pictures, Textra becomes an app I can send the photos to.
FWIW, this seems to have been fixed in the USA B167 update that rolled out today.
So strange defect.
Same experience
Hi, I am experiencing the same problem "unable to share a photo to Whatsapp as it is not in the selection list". But fortunately, from the original poster's experience sharing, yes, Whatsapp selection becomes visible if I select 2 photos instead of 1. Unselecting the selected photos back to 1 photo, the Whatsapp selection disappears again. Definitely a weird bug, and thanks to this forum, otherwise, I will never notice that Whatsapp selection will appear if I select 2 photos. By the way, I am already using latest firmware MHA-L29C636B183. Anyway, has anyone found a fix to this yet? Thanks in advance.
solution
Did anyone ever find a solution
This is an old thread but if you're not running Oreo yet, that should help out.

Issue deleting photos from Camera app

Anyone else having issues deleting photos from the camera app? You used to be able to just swipe them upward to get rid of them, but that no longer works. There is a trash can button, but when you click that, it brings up a pop up that says:
"Remove from Google account and synced devices?"
This happens with all photos, even ones that are already synced. This is neither what I want it to do. I want to simply delete the photos from my device, whether they are synced yet or not. I don't want to do anything to the synced photos. This is how my Pixel used to work.
I'd also like the swipe to delete to come back.
Any ideas?

Try to remove your account and add it up again... could be some sort of a bug...
Doing some research, it seems that the little photo preview thing is now no longer just a link to a basic Gallery app, but rather it's now directly integrated with Photos, which might be the issue...
Not sure how I feel about this...
1. Even if this is the new standard, it's tedious! You have to press the trash can and then confirm deletion again. This is really slow.
2. Swiping to delete is so much quicker than tapping an icon.
