Im trying to install the wolfbreak rom so my phone can run emulator games without lagging, so i follow the the Tut from xda
[ROM] Wolfs TW Gingerbread | Feel the difference | V6 out | 17/9/2011 - xda-developers
then i get
Finding update package...
E;/cant mount/dev/block/mmcblk0p1(or/dev/block/mmblk0
(Device or resource busy)
NOTE: im using xperia x10i

Installation aborted.
im using Xrecovery 0.3 gb ready
i tried alternative ways and 2 different sd cards but still get the same error, ive seen that others install there roms via rom manager but cant find a version that works for me, can any1 suggest me a link for another method to install this rom please, thank you in advance
i installed ROM manager, but before i could install any ROM it asked me to install clockworkrecovery first which isnt available, i tried backing up first, mounting the sd in partition tools, have the sd mounted/unmounted before reboot if that makes any difference. ive been flashing wolfs ftf bundle every time.
1. Reboot into xRecovery and make a back-up of your current ROM. (You'll need a working xRecovery or else it will say Device/SD Card busy).
2. Wipe the following in xRecovery:
* Factory Reset (Full wipe)
* Wipe Cache Partition
* Wipe Dalvik Cache
3. Go to install Custom Zip and choose Wolf_Xperia_6.0.0s/c
I made sure i followed these steps everytime, but still it wont mount the sd.
am i flashing wrong or using a outdated xRecovery? plz help T.T
Update---
was trying different variables to get wolfbreak rom installed then my phone froze, i reinstalled update via SEUS to fix it. i found out my phone wasnt rooted anymore when i ran busybox. so i followed doomlords rooting TuT again. when i flash the kernel downgrade my phone either freezes when i switch it back on or doesnt give me the option to root. the best i can do right now is flash wolfs ftf file but thats it. its starting to be a headache now :\ sos
Update---
I gave up trying to install custom roms..i settled for reinstalling stock 2.3 and flashed wolfbreaks ftf bundle which seem to increase my phones performance enough i guess..i dont know for sure i only say that because my phone starts up like flash now so that's got to count for something lol. i was able to run FPSE (psx emulator) which was really all i wanted to do and games are working pretty good for me...currently playing ff9 but still having minor problems which im working on fixing..
calling on x10 users that have played ff9 on FPSE. any tips?

I gave up on rooting :\ Ive manged to install auto memory optimizer and adjust some settings in FPSE so games can run smoothly, but im not going to customize my phone anymore, i get the feeling im just making things worse. Every phone shop i went to no nothing about rooting (not surprised) now im looking for a expert to help me through chat so we can analyze and solve my problems step by step.
i reformatted sd and followed doomlords rooting Tut many times but i still dont get the root option. the part where the process fails for me is when i connect the usb right after i feel the vibration after i turn the phone on, i even waited and checked to see if usb debugging and unknown sources were ticked
ill just point out my obvious errors:
In flashtool it doesn't install busybox and i get "Android version : 2.3.3 / kernel version : uname: permission denied"
Through google search i found out you can install busybox via adb shell so i followed the ADB guide for dummies. i installed drivers and extracted adb files to C:. But the first command it tells me to enter in command prompt doesnt work for me. even though ive edited the directory to correct path it just says doesnt recognize internal or external etc C:/users actually doesnt exist
the only thing it recognizes is the adb.exe itself then a bunch of adb commands just come up and im pretty much a noob at command prompt too T.T
so if there is anyone out there willing to sit down and help me out id love you forever..ill even donate whats left in my paypal. if anyone is located in sydney im willing to pay them to fix my problems for me

I recently purchase an MID N900 android tab with ice-cream sandwich.
It already has root access.
i didn't have read/write access so i installed remount and applied it to my external memory card.
I also installed rom toolbox lite to increase performance.
After I rebooted my device , the internal memory shows 0 and now i can't install any apps besides the terminal.
I don't know which app caused this issue but i think its remount.
I also can't access recovery mode.
I did a factory reset and it didn't help.
I don't know if this is of any help but every time i restart the device everything goes back to factory settings. It shows you the guide
when you start your device for the first time.
How can i reset the internal storage back to normal
Any help would be highly appreciated

The problem was i installed busybox using an installer which causing some file discrepancies.
To fix it :
1. Install Android Terminal Emulator, this app can be installed even if storage shows full.
2. copy /system/xbin/busybox to /system/bin, if busybox is installed the code is "busybox cp /system/xbin/busybox to /system/bin"
When I did the above, all my previous apps and setting came back to normal

Hi! I have almost the same problem. I follow your instruction - i've installed emulator but i cant gain access.It says "cp cant create '/system/bin/busybox' : Permission denied.
Do you know how i can gain access over it?
ps My case is the same like yours. I tried to new rom, but after that it appeared. I cant install busybox, i can use emulator only.

Firstly I think you made a typing error, it's system/XBIN/busybox not system/bin/busybox
Secondly as soon as you open the terminal type 'su' that will give you root access, then type the command in the previous post.
I'm not an expert but I will try to help if I can.

I wrote commmand "su" and successfully gained root access. After that typed the command like you and no errors appeared. But still I don't have internal memory (cant install any apps). Any suggestions?

I had the same problem and I couldn't install anything... I fixed it by downloading a root explorer apk, open comand promt with adb and stuff,copy the apk to the same folder as adb, and type:
adb push (appsName).apk /system/app
from that point on, I just did what jeewa19 said!!!

Q88 tablet internal storage 0
Hello,
I have an q88 allwinner tablet and tryed to root it. This went wrong because after rooting it (wich i have done succesfully before) my inetrnal storage says 0. I tryed to get it back with Android Terminal Emulator. When i installed it (trough a sd card) i tryed to give the command su like you sayed. The only thing i get is Permission Denied.
Please help how toi get my storage back.

After buying my cheapy tablet , I went install crazy and ended up with a stinky 0.0mb of space. Having spent countless hours of how to increase the memory with an sd card I found your guide.The guide was spot on and helped me out tons, lol even the reboot comment . Fixing 0 bytes on internal storage on tablet
1. First Install root explorer! (Pro Much Better)
I found a solution, The problem was I rooted my tab then internal storage crashed.
To fix it :
1. Install Root explorer , this app can be installed even if storage shows full, it will directly install on your sd card or external storage .(its more easier if you download it to your pc then transfer it to your sd card
open root explorer find or copy /system/xbin/busybox then pastethis folder to /system/bin
2. Before you copy the /system/xbin/busybox to /system/bin, make sure or check the /system/bin is set to rw, if the permission of the folder is ro ( read only)set it to rw(read/write) for you to able to copy those files, it is needed to follow this steps for you to paste /system/xbin/busybox to /system/bin
When I did the above, all my previous apps and setting came back to normal.. it is important to read and analyze this steps carefully, I consumed 2 hours to solve this problem. But worth it !!

Can you tell what happened to your device, so I can analyze and solve your problem, is your device rooted?
but i suggest to try reflashing yout tab.. download the suitable android os for your device. then reflash it! !

Thank you, it works for me. Now I'm out of trouble (for now )
Now fixed, Solution grab the fixed batch from my second post, run it choose 1(normal), then run it again choose x(unroot), then run it for the final time and choose 1(normal), if all goes well titanium backup should allow you to use it(ofc you could check superSU and Superuser).

Tried to root my Virgin Mobile Kyocera Rise C5155 on ICS 4.0.4 with Root Many Android, first try yielded a mount: permission denied (are you root) error, second try said it was successful but SuperSu didn't install, third try I chose charge only instead of mass storage and SuperUser instead of SuperSu but it didn't install. So I installed SuperSU from the play store and it said it needed to install the su binary but SuperSu couldn't do this, so I tried Superuser it could install the su binary but was given a permission denied by ICS.
So it appears this phone is no longer rootable with RMA. I had Usb debugging turned on and mass storage is my normal choice for connecting to pc, I have the proper adb drivers for the kyocera rise from their website, so from what I've gathered I've done everything to a T. went back an looked at the terminal saw it couldn't replace /system/bin/.ext (because it already existed) and I don't know why for the life of me that su is in /system/bin/.ext/.su but its there.
I used RMA v25. Any Advice or Suggestions would be appreciated.

Fixed See my Post Below for the Attached Fixed Bat File.
There was an oversight in the bat that neglected to clean up properly upon repeated root attempts, it didn't remove the /system/bin/.ext folder and the /system/bin/.ext/.su binary. I've fixed it to where it will remove those first (rm will exit cleanly(by this i mean it will exit returning control of the application to the bat, it will still generate an error ) even if the files aren't found which Means if they're not there it doesn't really matter)

I fixed it there was an oversight in the RMA bat file, I attached the fixed bat ONLY you'll have to visit the RMA thread and download the full environment.

Fixed yet again, titanium backup now reports Rooted, fix was to run the fixed bat choose 1(normal) let it reboot, then run the bat again choose x(unroot) then run one last time and choose 1(normal). this should clear any polluted data in /data for the flash and then root normally

This is a much quicker and less messy way to root your rise. It says for hydo but works for rise too. This is how I did mine.

Okay so my best friend is a quadriplegic..He gave me a Digix Tablet model Tab-730,android 4.0.4,base band V1.10_20120929,kernal ver,3.0.8+,4 gb external card and 2 gb internal, to root so I could help him get the most out of his device with accessibility and such..Anyways I successfully rooted it with Bin5ary,and now I have a huge issue I cant fix....
Every time I reboot,it factory resets itself..Every time still showing superSU as an active app..
Then I cant install more than 1 app without it saying its full and to manage my apps..
I read online its a problem with busybox and to copy /system/sbin/busybox to system/bin and reboot..First of ll theres no /system/sbin/busybox to begin with because I cant get busybox in the system...I can make changes with a good file manager downloaded apk from my email,but cant install busybox after..I can install busybox first but then my stock file manager isnt letting me access root!

Was rooted by: iRoot/Kingo root
Was working perfectly, untill...
"avoid due poor connection" - wifi stoped to connect
-config didnt work
-delet dhcp folder didnt work
- reset factory/ wipes didn't work
-backups (still working phone at 100% with wifi conected trough static IP
My sd card was swaped internal - external by me trough void.fstab and void.fstab.nand
"was working perfectly, during many root-unroot process most with kingo root"
Tryed to upade my firmaware trough device, system updates, catphones told me to download google OTA from catphones website support, instaled, found a few updates 86mb, couldn't uptade, tought it was kus phone was already rooted, crashed always during recovery menu due bad signature, even being the official patch... Anyway phone still working fulkly, sim, sds...
But since the reset factory to try solve the wifi poor conection problem, my phone seems to have losted his root, I still have esfile explorer on some of my backups including kingo root, cwm mod, and uninstaler, I even able to navigate trough the system files... The only thing I dont have is "permisions"
Why do I need permisions? Well I'm trying to root it again using any app or program, it was rooting B15-compal, now the kingo root reads my device as "android device" when with the original google ota and as HC phone with the catphones googleota, I root and others still recognize my device as B15, emai and everything else is working just fine, soi I presume that the root is unable to complete on any root client kus I swaped my sdcards, and now I lost my root permisions so I can't edit the vold.* files, and return my b15 to its originals sdcard, prety sure that this would fix the dam thing and enable me to root or unroot it again...
Root checker tells that my device is not properly rooted...
The super user from kingo root is still remaining even after backups but is does not grant me any permision or ask for it, also it doesnt have an uninstal option, esfile explorer is set to navigate root files and it oes, it only stops if i uncheck the options on seting and than cant check it anymore...
Downloaded a few adb fiels, tryed to perform comands as adb root even instaled the unsecure adb on phone, tryed also the method when in the factory menu, also on the recovery menu, also on the system itself, cant mount, and when tring to push the originals volds from my d:x/x/x/x to dev/system (/system) /system.etc (/system/etc/), some times it acept the correct command but tells me that Permision denied...
In other situations tells something like "cannot do or perform action on build" or something like that...
Put my hands on the original room of my b15 from xda (rooted), but my cat b15 doesnt give support to clockwork so I never made a custom recovery, even aknoledge that it is not necessary if I'm trying to flash a non-custm rom, witch is the case, althoug remember that my sdcards are completly swaped, 1,58gb sdcard internal is now external and 8gb external card is now internal, so the recovery acess always the sdcard 0 that now is my 8gb external card swaped, I got all the options, backups and restore working normal, but somehow seems that I'll not be able to flash any zip from inside my recovery menu, it says stating sdcard or something and already shows the picture of and android robot lied down with a red square over its open chest...
I hope that as long as I can restore it I'm fine, but I am not a programer but an advance user, so I need the root, tankfully my system was backuped when I riped off almost everything that was garbage and also moved to sdcard most of data, but still only 500-200mb of internal storage, I need to be able to restore vold by any mean, that must enable te root and the root will fix everything...
Any ideia would be apreciated, I would realy love to update my system to android 6, it has the hardware enought, but seems that this model was discontinued, so depending on someone creating a custom rom for it...
I was wondring if not trough CMD - ADB, could be possible flash fom SP_flash, but only flash the image related with the void files? I'm from Brazil and I don't wanna mess with my sim cards only to reflash the same version of the rom that I already have, not without the possibility of being running a custom recovery, couldnt and now without root option I cannot even run the CMW on android properly...
Tried intal oither suoper users from GP, put all of them ask for the same thing twm something or intal but all of them speak about "binary needs update", guess that why my phone is not rooting as it was, although, if I accept the option the apps entenr in a loading that never ends and eventualy ask to be close... Tought backups were for this purpose but the dam thing could not even fix my wifi little issue...
