I'm using CF root myself which means going back to stock, applying this firmware then re-rooting. Is your root method “de la vega” different?

RDLV and URDLV are methods to be safe as matter KNOX counter to stay 0. You allready have cf-root so your counter is 1 so dont do nothing.

Thanks for sharing you test with MJ7.
Before update to MJ7, you have root ? with MJ1 ? MJ3 ? MJ6 ?
I have root MJ1 with RDLV and i want yo update to MJ7 :good:, can you explain your steps ?
With J6 update I had network problems - bad signal, bad data connection (3G) - sometimes became G+ etc..
Now everything is fixed. Strong signal and good data connection.

I received this update today via OTA. 3 changes that I noticed:
1. The purple trail on scrolling disappeared, finally
2. The icon "Sobre o dispositivo" in the Settings menu now is yellow P)
3. The internal storage has 9,23GB (I guess it increased a bit, I don't know for sure)
Hi!

Curious mate about the purple scroll other wise known as the "smearing" issue...
Is it REALLY gone? Seems like a hardware issue that will not be resolved without new kernel source. Samsung may have cheated by changing the background of their ui to dark gray but in all other situations it will still be present.

Don't make like me. I had bad boot's whit MJ6 and bootloader MJ3.
I made a Bootloader-MJ6.tar.md5 whit that TOOL, the 5 files from it, flashed by Odin and now whit Bootloader N9005XXUDMJ6 no more bad boot's.
Conclusion: A Rom must work whit your own bootloader.
Forget my test's please.

At start the phone stop at samy logo, wait, wait, wait, poweroff/on, start, the same wait... sometimes start at 3º power on.
Whit the bootloader from Rom XXUDMJ6 it start quickly at first time. It's all Jean-Paul. You are French?
About my conclusion You must read this:
http://www.samsung.com/global/business/mobile/solution/security/samsung-knox
and:
https://www.samsungknox.com/overview/technical-details
Thanks. Sometimes bootloader can't work with some baseband. Maybe if you don't flash the new modem it works (even if it is not a good solution).
And yes I am french. But my father is from Maia and my mother from Braga

I want to know if it needs the PIT file like the DBT. If not, then I'll flash it. don't be fkin sarcastic dude :good:
There's also different versions of the FW like HK is 16gb, not sure if the BTU is 16 or 32gb. Better to ask than flash and fcuk up a phone.
16 gb only in honkong and other assia country's
Can someone confirm what is new in this FW? :fingers-crossed:
about bloody time!
Id like to know whats new as well . . .its kitkat alright but apart from status bar icons being all white and the odd kitkat changes to ui elements . . Oh and camera shortcut on bottom right of lockscreen . . .i dont see anything else new ??
I must admit the whole UI and software has become alot faster and butter smooth and battery seems to be slighty better when phone is idle . .but again its only been a few hours and cant give a full battery score

It can be flashed yes, so long as you don't have a HK model. -- And yes it is better to ask than to mess up, there's no such thing a stupid question only a stupid answer.
TL;DR
Yup flash away you should be good to go - You may need a PIT file depending on what firmware you are coming across from due to some minor size differences

On BTU it's mainly tweaked for modem rather than feature wise, small things but generally it's the Polish ROM more polished so to speak.
Im on XXUENB3 Poland
when i flash with odin only the auto reboot should be ticked right ?

As far as know, India doesn't have branding in Android handsets. Its unbranded.

I'm not sure, but most probably Odin is the only way.

Odin will remove the root. I don't want to loose root.

Yea that's true. But rooting doesn't take time at all via CF auto root.

Never mind. INS is a branded CSC for India. But I don't know which carrier using it. I am an Indian and as far as know, no android is branded till now.

okay, thanks anyways :/
Flashed. Had to manually done via Odin as usual, as I never ever had the privilege of getting an OTA update!
Anyway, here are some things I noticed, I mean some changes from the previous Indian ROM,
1- The boot up audio has been changed. Don't know if this is as same as S5's one or not, but I guess it is, cause no one changes the boot up sound often! I don't like the new sound. It's kinda threatening!
2- The default wallpapers, both lock-screen and home screen have been changed. And all the built in wallpapers have been changed as well! You won't see that boy & balloon wall, or the airplane! All of them have been replaced with a new batch! Weird!
3- The horrible lag, which occurs in any email app's list view mode, with message preview set to on, REMAINS. This is the main reason I updated, and hoped would be solved, but no, I am really disappointed

Thanks for reporting. Did you notice any change in systemUI or Settings? SystemUI already got S5 goodies in kitkat update but hidden.

Yes Sammobile is showing that this is NOT available on Kies yet. Maybe Samsung is still testing this firmware OR maybe they're doing a bit more polishing before a roll-out.
