27-JAN-2011: These do not work with Gingerbread and I can't fix this for you sorry.
All credit goes to persiansown for the initial Nexus release in this thread.
Confirmed as working for non-rooted users
These are not Nexus One specific
I've tweaked the files a bit and they should install on a non-rooted phone now, all of the libraries are written to /data instead of /system. This makes the apks inefficient, the largish library is installed with every wallpaper.
It's entirely up to you of course and no, I can't do anything about the performance (but it's no different than the port for root users)...
Just install like any other app.
Note to root users: you're better off using the original version.
Thanks for this. Appreciate it. seems to work fine
Works great for me also...but lags the sh*t out of my phone..so uninstalling
BTW Oceanwave is really nice
thanks for this
delete post please... the shame..

So I can just place these apks in a folder on my sdcard, and install them with Astro?
I have an EVO 4G, Fresh Evo 0.2..I have not fully rooted.
Answered own question: Yes..you can do this.
Brilliant. So kind of you to do this. Thanks!

Yeah, you can just put on the root of your SD and install with Astro.
It works for N1 2.2 Froyo FR83 (unrooted) but even on the N1 it lags the phone quite a bit. I do like the dandelion one though. Maybe someone can optimize it for the other phones.
Thanks for the wallpaper though.

Yes, you can uninstall like every app if you go to
Settings/applications/manage app...find the app and hit uninstall.

Promise I didn't put a back door in there!
Awesome!! Will try it out soon.
Also does that mean it's possible to do the same thing with the HTC Sense live wallpaper as well?? Would really really love a non-root ripped version of that.
does anyone know of ANY apps or mods that enable multiple user login on the Note 10.1 similar to the nexus 10 where you have your own profiles on the lock screen for multiple users?
so far, I have only found ONE app that does this but havent tried it yet: https://play.google.com/store/apps/...xLDEwMiwiZmFocmJvdC5hcHBzLnN3aXRjaG1lLmtleSJd
any ideas/suggestions would be appreciated!
Multi user login in Android 4.2 is embedded into the system at a very low level. Such a thing is very hard, almost impossible to port, especially without the source code of the ROM you want to port it to.

I've tested both ways now and in principle both go, but there are advantages and disadvantages of each. I would like to tell about the most important:
1. SwitchMe App:
i rooted the device with the above method.
then installed the switchme app and granted superuser access.
advantage:
Every user has a completely separate account on the tablet.
disadvantage:
with every switch between the users the tablet has to reboot.
2. terminal app:
also rooting with the above method.
create a new user with pm create-user Katja (my wife)...
advantage:
switching between the users is possible in the on / off menu and dont require a reboot
disadvantage:
same apps and save games in the apps
notification does not reset after switching the user. (this is very annoying)
After all i decided to not switching right now. and if i will do, i will use the SwitchME app.
maybe there will be a update to version 4.2 in near future. This will be genius with this fabulous tablet.
I hope i can help some of the users here.

thanks! ur right the app works fine but the reboot thing is annoying. I can't seem to figure out how to put the profiles on the lock screen so I can switch accounts without going into the app...anyone know how?
Hi guys,
I'm sure this question has been asked before but the search feature on XDA never works for me and Google hasn't been any help. I'm currently using Cataclysm ROM but I'm considering trying out Carbon ROM. Anyway my question is: Is there a way to get Halo notifications on any ROM? You know like the facebook message notifications. Is There a flashable zip or an APK that will give me Halo notifications on my Nexus 5?
Please try not to flame me I have searched but couldn't find and answer.

the only workaround is through xposed framework, there is a module for that, you will also need an app like floating notifications..
here is a tutorial http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-mRTaKCBgxc
as for the HALO from paranoid android, you'll either need to find a ROM that already has it, or, since it is open source you can compile it with your own ROM.

no problem
if i remember well basically the idea of the workaround is that the module gives you the "window view" of the apps , and the floating notifications app gives you the HALO circle, so they work in conjunction. Anyways, i think it should work just as the original HALO.

Just want to share another simple app of mine that allows you to use the hidden lockscreen effects available on Note 4 or S5. Just download and install. No root required. See screenshot for available lockscreen effects.
DOWNLOAD HERE
Tested on my Note 3 N9005 Lollipop but I believe some of the effects will work on other Galaxy devices.
Use at your OWN RISK.
Amazing.
It have me system ui force close when I selected ink effect, and for other effects they didn't seem to work. And I had a tough time to get my phone back to working. I almost thought I would have to reflash. Thanks anyway, maybe it is not for me.

All effects are working fine here on a stock ROM without any modification.
Working great on a stock XEO (Poland), rooted ROM.
Cheers mate.
Any chance for those who are unable to access Google Website including Google Play?

That means it will work only on stock ui. I am using xposed framework and many other xposed modules. So I guess it's conflicting with them.

Hey guys,
I need an app to deny some permissions to certain apps on 5.1 (LMY47I), since there are apps I have installed that, I think, require some very intrusive ones. After a little search I found AppOps.
But since I am not rooted right now, could you guys confirm if this app is working correctly on 5.1 (LMY47I) on the N5. Or recommend another app, preferecially one that does not require Xposed, since it's still in Alpha (don't get me wrong, I love Xposed).
Thank you :good:
I can't post URLs, but the one I found is the one by Droid Mate.

Why donot you try a custom ROM like CM which has a build in privacy support. You can actually deny any permission to any app in settings.
There are some other apps but mostly would need ROOT i am afraid
Quote if you expect a response

Oh, I didn't know that CM had that feature builted in, definitely gonna check it out.
But is it really capable of denying ANY permission if an App? Because I tried AppOps in my rooted tablet and not all permissions could be denied, some don´t even show up on the App options.
Thanks for your answer :good:
