Proper grammar next time please.
You cannot disable the search bar. If you want it gone, install a custom launcher like Nova or Apex.
What?
From the parts what I can understand.. You want to remove the persistent search bar? Get a third party launcher like apex or nova... Or wait for a ROM.

Thinking of installing Nova launcher when my phone ships, but was wondering if features like "OK Google.." and searching online for numbers within the phone app would still work?
Also, has anyone with a Nexus 5 found a way to hide apps in the app drawer you don't want there, or at least make a folder? I really want to use the stock launcher, and it baffles me Google leaves out basic functionality to sort and organize your apps... if anyone found a way please let me know, or if root can fix this somehow. Thanks.
You'd have to wait for Kevin to put similar features if he decides to assuming he can mimic the new launcher. I think the new launcher is closed source.. maybe we'll get a kernel soon with always listening

For hiding the apps part if you want to hide one of the stock apps you can simply disable it in the settings? (Settings > apps)

Yea I found that out with my nexus 10 with Nova launcher and stock 4.3 launcher . I was hoping it will allow the open search voice prompt as the google bar is on both launchers . Sucks .

Yeah, I've been using Open Mic +. It's pretty good and no need to use a different launcher. You can also customize it instead of saying "Ok Google." I just changed my activation word to "Google" and it automatically opens up Google Search and listens to what you want to say. Pretty convenient. You can turn it off and on. Just google it. I believe it's also in the play store.

Very minimal if any drain. I'm actually using the 2.4 version. 3.5 is the latest, and I'm not sure how good that one is, but I've had no issues with mine. Also, people complaining about slow start up time isn't true. The 3-5 seconds it takes is only when you first start the app. After that, every time you say your hotword, it opens up quite fast and ready to listen. That's for 2.4 at least. I'm sure 3.5 has to be better.

It stops working after 3 times for me. Does it stop working for you? If you restart it, it works 3 more times

Here bro. This is the apk I have. I uploaded it for you. I tried the newer one and the older one seems to work better for me. Not sure why. Give it a go and let me know.

Anybody know of any launchers out there that integrate Google Now? I'd like to customize, but I like saying OK, Google (as cheesy as that sounds)

Don't think it's gonna happen.
KK Launcher is the only launcher I have seen to incorporate Google Now in any way. It launches Google Now when you scroll all the way to the left, but that's it.

As long as you keep the stock setting of swiping up on the home key to access Google Now, you're really only talking about a second or two to access the "Ok Google" feature.
Additionally, if you'd like to have the mic aware and listening constantly, I'd suggest the XDA link below. This way, you can have that feature available regardless of which launcher you're running.

From what I read, it's only the stock launcher that can have the active listening.
Only reason I read about this was because I googled why it stopped once I installed Nova Launcher.
Google Now works great when I click on the homepage search bar that opens the Google Now screen but is one of you able to get Google Now to listen actively on the home screen to: OK Google, followed by a voice command? I am using the ViperOneM8 rom and Open Mic+ for Google Now does not seem to work
As a one step workaround I use Nova launcher and swipe up to start Google Now but like the active listening functionality.
Google's Home Launcher offers this. I use it.

Thank you for your suggestion, David but I like to keep Nova as my launcher instead of changing to the Google Home/Now Launcher.

It wasn't really a suggestion.. The Google Now Launcher is what does it.

There's currently no other way to get the always listening behavior on the homescreen.

But to use Google Home/Now Launcher.:good:
Good news! Nova Launcher has been updated and now supports the "OK, Google" hot voice word on every launcher screen.

There is also an Xposed module (search OKGoogle) for this...
Almost every third party launcher now supports this. I'm using smart launcher and I have always listening on.
Hello all...
There is a way how to disable that Google search "pie" like menu ? Sweeping from bottom is showing that Google ring that is taking you to Google now...
Thank you in advance

Freeze Google search maybe?
Just my first thought. Or use a different launcher.

I'm not sure then. Is Google now off?
I don't get it, on Nova launcher. But I have Google now off.

Use this app
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=hk.sld.SwipeLaunchDisabler
Easiest solution I've found.
It doesn't get rid of the ring but you can set to launch nothing.
