Nexus 5 32gb now 16gb after root - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I unlocked the bootloader, installed twrp which on reboot booted into twrp.
Twrp asked if I wanted to install supersu as it wasn't installed.
I said yes, which killed my install.
Downloaded factory nexus 5 image, flashed cache, system and user data images. Phone now works but noticed today that it's only showing up as 16gb.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Maybe theres a different factory image for both versions? I think you can still install more than 16 GB it might just say it has 16 and if you go over it will fix? Sorry I'm just throwing out ideas. But someone had this problem on the nexusn10 as well maybe if you search in that forum you can see if/how he was able to solve it.

There is only 1 image for the Nexus 5 on Google devs page. However, this is also the case for the Nexus 4 and when I restored that to stock yesterday - it correctly shows as 16gb rather than the 8. Will try to find the Nexus 10 thread though

Fixed.
TWRP -> Wipe -> Format Data.
I assume maybe old version of adb I was using created the partition too small when I did a format userdata?
Anyways, sorted now.

Thank you!
Look on your card are they still there? /sdcard/DCIM?
Consider copying data from card to PC, formatting card and then copying data back

this works.
thank you!

re-formatted the sd card.
now works.
interesting.!?Thanks.
I'm assuming it had something to do with Media Scanner not being given enough time to run properly. I've used both CM9 and CM10 and I have all pictures taken over the course of 1 year (with over 12-15 different roms) in the /sdcard/DCIM/Camera (or /DCIM/100ANDRO) folder.
Flashed the 13 Nov 2012 from NK111 formatted dalvik system data using recovery but system stuck on HTC logo, adb log shows looping any suggestion to consider since i see this same build worked for sony panel owners like me. Thanks

Are you htcdev unlocked or s-off
"I stopped fighting my inner demons, were on the same side now"
I unlocked with S-on where HBoot is 2.0, i guess that makes me htcdev unlocked; given that what should i do?

Did you flash the boot.img ?

Standard Camera app not found
I flashed cm-10-20121116-EXPERIMENTAL-saga-NK111, when first booted i could see the standard camera app, took some photos, all great; but i realized later that i hadn't reflashed the GApps so back again to recovery mode i installed gapps-ics-20120429-signed but when i re-booted i couldn't find the camera App, so i tried restoring from titanium and got the 2.3.7 which i think is not compatible with CM10 since it is crashing even with the App cache cleaned; Finally i installed a 3rd party App from store: silent camera to test stuff and it loaded successfully and took photos; now how do i get the standard camera app of CM10 which i think is great?? Thanks

you're flashing gapps-ics-20120429-signed? i think its for ICS, and you're using CM10 which is JB.
try gapps-jb-20121011-signed.zip
Ur probably right, the weird part is that everything is running smoothly and as expected, but what has the camera to do with gapps?! Has it..
Anyway downloading now to test it, thanks

Try to full wipe also before flashing the rom and gapps if you encounter problem.
Wifi unable to start on build 20121206
I upgraded to cm-10-20121206-EXPERIMENTAL-saga-NK111 from the previous build cleared dalvik and cache, but found out that the WiFi is unable to start. Restarting several times led to no solution.
So i did a clean install of this same build after formatting dalvik, cache, and data: still the WiFi unable to start!!!
Anybody encountered this before, and any solutions for this strange behavior please?

[Q] Stop/Delete 4.4 Firmware Upgrade

Guys i need some help. My dad accidentally said to upgrade the firmware and its started downloading for 4.4 which i dont want.
Is there any way to stop the download or delete the downloaded firmware before it actually installs...?
I have already tried the following to no avail
-Clear Cache Partition from Recovery.
-Clear Google Services Framework Cache
-Clear Google Services Framework Data
-Force stop Google Services Framework.
Please let me know asap. The phone is NOT rooted, otherwise i know i could delete the cache folder, but to root it would mean wiping the phone for unlocking bootloader, so kinda defeats the purpose.
Thanks
Just don't update? Also I think it stores out in the tmp folder. But not 100% sure on that.

Its already started the download...
And from what iv read everywhere is that it will ask you to install the update once its downloaded, but after a few times you choose No, it will automatically install it anyway.
As for the temp folder, is that accessible without root?
From what I read it was stored in a cache folder once the download is complete.

It would do yes, but I don't want to have to reinstall everything from scratch etc... I'm just looking for a way to stop the update midway...
But ultimately if I can't find out any other way, its gonna have to be a factory reset...

And what if you disable the OTA service under Settings -> Apps -> All?
To do that, you don't need root.
I'm not sure this is working, because I don't use the stock rom right now...but it worth a try.

Are you talking about the Motorola OTA app...? Tried to force stop that, and clear cache and data, but that didn't stop the update...

No sd card found - it doesnt think there is anywhere to store anything.

Hi, ive just upgraded to Android 5.0.1 manually (13mb update from 5.0 didnt flash) by flashing each img Individually.
The problem in facing is that my phone no longer thinks it has any storage. Ive tried various different apps and some detect it and others don't. The only thing I have done that might of caused this is recovering my user data, but other than that, everything went fine.
Is anyone else experiencing this? Or does anyone know a fix?
Thanks in advance

I had the same issue, 4 reflashes of the full 5.01 later .... grrrr
I can't say what caused it, I can only attribute it to a an app that was causing it. I had google restoring all my apps at once and each time I let it do that the SD would disappear/unmount.
On the last rebuild I installed apps one at a time and so far it's been all good. If it was an app I don't know which one, I haven't installed absolutely everything I had on originally.
No help at all huh ?
Cheers

I had something like this happen . Are you using 4.4 and 5.0?
This happens quite often. Download a terminal emulator and run "su" (enter) and then "restorecon -FR /data/media/0" (enter) and reboot.

Haven't tried this yet but I wish this solution was around a week ago, I've had to reinstall everything manually, rather than restoring it
Thanks nonetheless

Do a factory reset in the stock recovery, then clear cache in recovery.

Restarting after i updated to 5.1.1

My phone's restarting randomly after i updated to 5.1.1.
Things i tried :
1) cleared cache through recovery as well as from fastboot
2) did a factory reset from recovery (4 times)
3) tried using without any sims or network.
What else is there to do now?
Note: i am unrooted, haven't unlocked my bootloader. I am on stock.

I suspect it could be an app doing it. Are you running any type of Antivirus? Try force closing apps and see if you can narrow it down. Any app that is memory intensive could do it.
