Nexus 5 display problem - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I picked up my Nexus 5 yesterday, and although everything seemed great I noticed that on the lowest brightness setting the backlighting on the left hand side of the phone seems to switch off:
Here are a couple of images:
50% brightness

I'm going to try and get a replacement today, although knowing the shortages it might be a few weeks before I get it sorted
Has anyone else had this problem?

i read that they have replacements ready, you wont have to wait long

how is the battery with wifi on?? how does it long?
I have both Cavalier and Snap. Snap battery can stay for one day. Cavalier, maybe half day only
how much is the price??
Is the screen readable in direct sunlight? The old Excalibur that I've got becomes unreadable in direct sunlight, while I've seen screens on blackberrys working fine right next to me. I don't know what's different about the technology, but just looking for the functionality.

Help With Sensor Usage

Anyone know what causes this to happen and how to stop it?

Dialer, Maps, and ScoreMobile all have the exact same sensor usage time. Almost 2 hours after phone has been unplugged for almost 7.5 hours. It's never the same apps either.
Some people have had trouble like this in the past when screen rotation was turned off, although it would usually show akmd as the offending service, but ya never know with these phones sometimes

[Q] Think AT&T will replace phone for this bright spot?

It's hard to see but there's a small bright spot below "Watch" and a bit to the left that the camera didn't capture very well. It is much more noticeable in person.
Think AT&T will replace it for this? It's really bugging me. I don't want to show up at the support center and have them turn me away...
They should, I went there for a dead light on a soft key. They said they couldn't see it but switched it out anyway just in good faith

Always on Display

Hey all, was wondering if anybody knows how much battery or if it's a good idea to have the always on display on?
That's a good question. I'd also like to know if there is anything we can do with it. Maybe after rooting if we can change what's on the display.
I read it uses about 1 % per hour
You can add an image to the always on display. You can also change the clock type as well as use music play/pause.
I have tried with it on and off battery last about 20 to 30 min longer with it off... so i just leave it on!

Google Pixel 2 - Second replacement display fails

Hi, I dropped my phone and display broke. The first few hours there was a single visible line in the middle of the display and then it disappeared. I ordered a new display and attached it. Image 1 shows hot it look. Then i ordered a second display from a different seller, which was also tested. And the result was absolutely the same ( image2)
One display might be defective, but two displays are too much. Anyone have any idea what could be wrong?
