Use houseofmoto, I used it and it worked like a charm. There's an option to keep data as well which is what I actually used.

I used HoM with obake maxx and when I get back to "stock" successfully according to HoM, my WIFI wont connect to anything and when I try to take the OTA update to 12.15.15, I bootloop shortly after rebooting.
I was able to resolve my issue somehow. I deleted the "set" rows above boot.img in the obake maxx xml file. I then ran HoM and it bootlooped. I then re-ran it with the full xml file and this time it took and worked great. I was then able to take the OTA and then root using rockmymoto and life seems to be great!
Thanks all for all the information!

If you're a Bright House TV subscriber, you can now watch live TV at home on your Android device. This has been available on the iPad for a while now, and is available for iPhone now as well.
Problem is, it WILL NOT work if your device is rooted. And it says, "You can't use this application on a rooted device." (Or something along those lines)
I even tried Voodoo's temporary unroot with no success. Can the apk be modified to bypass the root check?

Wow, that works great. Just tried it out on my Touchpad running the latest nightly on CM9. So far so good... Thx for posting.
Apparently, it doesn't work on the EVO 4G LTE, either. I jut got it a couple weeks ago, and I haven't been able to get it working. I'm not even rooted.

I have a rooted Verizon droid maxx. I am really worried about losing root if I take the ota. Is there any safe way to take the ota without losing my root? I've read like 2 posts of people saying the pro version of supersu and Survival mode keeps root. I've also read 1 post saying that they accidently took it and didn't lose root. Can anyone confirm this?
I would like to know the answer to this as well. I was just prompted for this update.
at that i know most users keep the root with Superuser in Survival mode
u can try and let us know

Considering that you cannot downgrade to a exploitable version of android if it doesn't work, I think I will pass.
Here is a guy that did it and said he keep root.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=52763259
I believe the one that did it accidentally had an unlocked boot loader which makes root possible no matter what.
I saw another post
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=52795898
Saying that the biggest part of the update was the radio which can be flashed without taking the whole upgrade if you are worried about it.
Me personally, my BL is unlocked and I'm going back to 4.2. I've seen nothing but negatives (bad battery life, FC's, etc) with the updates. I might would stick it out if there was some new features but they seem like just more of the same.
I used survival mode and took the ota and still have root. Unfortunately I lost my WiFi tether and am trying to get that back now.

Yep, all root functions seem to be working fine.RootChecker says I have root, I was able to install the latest version of Busybox, and TiBu and SecureSettings both get root access.

Maybe I'm brain dead. I thought I had TWRP on these phones after SlapMyMoto, but I guess it retained the stock recovery.
Too many Android devlices... can't keep track of what's running what.
I thought the big issue was not retaining root, but completely losing the Write-Protection off ability (ie ability to use xposed). I'm locked bootloader and don't see a reason to unlock.

Currently on 4.4 (19.5.3) with root, wp disabled, and safestrap installed. Trying to install the 19.6.3 OTA but it fails at what looks like 25%. Any ideas?
This is essentially a stock setup with nothing installed that isn't part of the stock ROM. Nothing has been frozen or removed and I'm not using Safestraps pseudo-slots.
Appreciate any help I can get, thanks!

Also having this issue
I would have to say that the presence of safestrap may be your issue. Maybe try removing safestrap. But keeping root and wp.
Safestrap recovery didn't make a difference in the update installing. Same hangup with it removed.
There seems to be a handful of us experiencing this problem.
Any other solutions would be much appreciated.

I guess I'd also be interested in this, since I'm sick of seeing the update notification, but don't want to lose native tethering/root/gravitybox (if I can keep all three of those with 4.4.4, please help me figure out how, but it seems the write protection gets turned back on, so at the very least, I'd be losing xposed/gravitybox).
Haven't ever had Titanium backup installed or frozen anything, is it a free app? Or is there another way to do it?
Have to freeze Motorola OTA in titanium then in root browser go to the system cache and delete the OTA file.
I finally found them with the android tuner app from the app market and froze them

And I used ROM Toolbox and froze the Motorola OTA app/apk.
It has worked fine for me for the last three-four days.

Cool! How does it run compared to 10d? Can you install bumped twrp? Root? I imagine it's possible AT&T included aspects from later builds, so theoretically you could get a decent jump in performance if they have.

Yeah the only thing is. This isn't Android L. It's a 4.4.2 incremental update. My guess is they caught on to bump. But as someone has said we can downgrade with the flash tool right now. But that might not be the case when lollipop is deployed.
