Unable to unlock HTC 8x - Windows Phone 8x by HTC

Hello I have a HTC8x locked by ATT, I am trying to unlock it so I can use it on Metro PCS. I have the unlock code, the prompt to enter the unlock code does not pop up when I insert the sim. Dialing ##782# in the key pad, sends me back to the call history . Is there another way to unlock the phone or get Metro PCS to work ? Thank you

How to Unlock AT&T Treo 750 for other Networks?

This Treo 750 is AT&T locked, and I am moving to South America. I don't just want to get rid of the phone, as I know it works on networks down there.
How do I go about unlocking the phone from AT&T to use on Argentina's GSM 1900 system?
All help is appreciated.
***UPDATED! I had no idea I could just call AT&T for the unlock code. Duh. Sorry for this needless post.***

AT&T Treo Unlock caution and steps to enter a code.
AT&T Unlock Treo Procedure
The Treo unlock code is entered on the keyboard after inserting a non-AT&T sim and while holding the "Option Key" (a solid white key below the "a" key and to the left of the "z" key), release when the screen says OK.
After five tries the phone will be locked permanently and will have to be sent to the factory to be unlocked.

The option key is not necessary. I have verified the unlock code procedure on AT&T Treo 750s many times using SunCom and T-Mobile SIMs. Just pop the SIM in, turn the unit back on, and you will eventually get a screen asking for the unlock code. The device will do some customization afterwards and then ask you to reboot.

Just use olipro method linked on post number 2 to unlock your device, wether you have the code, don't have or have exceeded your attempts. It will unlock the treo 750.
look for a program called magic unlocker and you won;t even have to call ATT!

How do I use olipro method, are there any instructions? I gave my IMEI to AT&T and they gave me the unlock code. I tried three times and it didn't work. I'm afraid to try again since I only have 5 tries. Your reply would be greatly apprecited

BT S710

I have a BT branded S710 and have purchased an unlock code for it, this is a new unused phone straight out of the box but when I put in an unsupported SIM I don't get the prompt to enter the unlock code just a message about being only able to make emergency calls. How do I persude it to let me enter the unlock code?

Enter in Unlock code without another SIM?

I followed the directions here to obtain the unlock code for my phone, and have followed the directions. However, I do not have a SIM from another carrier to unlock my phone with. I remeber back when I was running Windows Mobile, you could navigate to windows/system and open an executable to enter in the unlock code, even with the "locked" sim in it, and it would work fine. Is there a similar way to do this in android?
U can buy a used sim real cheap on eBay.

Galaxy S8+ not prompting for unlock code

I have one galaxy s8 which was claimed to be unlocked b4 buying it,put in my sim and it's writing "invalid sim card, sim card not supported"if i go to settings and search for available networks,it will bring different networks but wont allow me to register on it.if i try to call...it will say "not registered on network"
I made an enquiry and they said if it is locked,it should prompt for an unlock code immediately i put my sim inside.even if i wana unlock again,d phone is not asking for any unlock code neither is it asking for unfreeze code.i also tried secret codes with it and it is not working #7465625*638#.it is a branded at&t phone
You may need to configure the APN for the new carrier manually. Go to settings, connections, mobile network, then APN (Access Point Names), select add and type in new APN settings.
However if that doesn't work, It may be hard locked. Meaning that an invalid sim unlock code was entered too many times. In my past experiences if it doesn't prompt you for the code when you enter a new sim card it is either hard locked or already unlocked and needs the APN settings configured. However after inserting a new sim card the phone would normally configure the APN automatically and only on occasion would I need to modify it to get data/text working properly.

invalid sim card, sim card not supported means it is locked device, i would like to help you to unlock it if you're interested
I'm facing this same issue. When I got the phone I installed an unbranded firmware (XAA/XAA/ATT) and I've since upgrade to Oreo. I can't seem to restore an ATT firmware so I can be prompted to enter the unlock code. Any suggestions?
make sure you using non at&t sim and it must be an active sim card. submit an unlock request to at&t on their website or use an unlock service like attunlocker.us to get your code.

Yes, it's a T-mobile SIM.
Sorry to necro, but does no one have a solution for this? I've seen plenty of threads such as this but very few solutions.
Necro double-post, I'm really asking for it...
First, you have to get an unlock code from the carrier. I had AT&T and it told me my phone was active under an account (previous owner). When you call AT&T and ask for an ulock they loop you to the website and you can't progress there, so you just have to ask for "customer service" twice and then get to the second level support. They can get you an 8 digit code for unlock. But I still never got prompted for the code and neither AT&T (5 calls), Cricket (3 calls), or xFinity (3 calls) could tell me how to get to the unlock screen. The following did it.
My solution was to use the following method, as found on https://www.tenorshare.com/samsung/samsung-unlock-code.html:
Step 1: Open the phone and type #7465625*638*# in the dialer.
Step 2: Then, it will ask for the Samsung Reset Code, it is an 8-digit code.
Step 3: Provide it and you will be done.
