[Q] Can I purchase a NEXUS 5 at the Googleplex? - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I cannot receive shipments but would like to purchase the Nexus 5 from the Google subsidized price. Could I purchase it at the Googleplex? I would like an answer before I go because it is very far away and would be inconvenient for with to go there with no certainty of a yes.

Make a phone call to them and see.

I called several times but every extension leads to an automated voice that tells you till go to a website.

How about a $104,000(!!!) Case?

http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B00B7QGT6U/ref=dp_olp_new?ie=UTF8&condition=new
I don't know if this has been posted before, but I've been looking for a case that is Minimal and still shows off the back of the phone. I came across this one and went to look at the prices available... than I looked at the last option... $104,921.73!!!!! I HOPE this is a seller error... I really do hope... I just thought this was funny and I would share with fellow Nexus 4/XDAers. Have a good one.
Actually it says $13,99.
Or maybe the dollar devaluated again...
Edit: OMG just saw it! What a silly way to say you're out of stock...

look at the bottom^^
Got mine yesterday! Great case i have to say. Highly recomended!!! :good:
And they have the nerve to charge 5ยข... Lol
Ehh the rest of the shipping and handling cost is in there somewhere!

I was thinking if ANY case is that much it better have an extra 3,000mh (if that's the right abbreviation) battery built in, signal boosters for both WiFi and Cell Data/Radio, pure diamond and/or hardened steel, light-weight, and have an extra voice assistant that knows you by name and balances your checkbook.
Side note, I am thinking about this case but does it add a lot of extra bulk to the device?

[Q] Nexus 5 on Verizon(Big Red)

I know the Nexus 5 has LTE support, but I just wanted to be sure before I purchase it, that it'll be usable on Verizon. Always wanted a Nexus device!

Won't work with Verizon they are of control freeks

Definitely a no go on Verizon. Pretty much everyone offers LTE now, and the Nexus 5 works with all of them... except Verizon.

I bet Little Red will get it next year... that's one of the reasons I switched carriers.
Seriously. Thanks guys! I was an inch away from buying it. Hopefully Verizon pulls the stick out of their asses and brings the Nexus 5 over. I get the feeling they just don't want a device of such a caliber to be sold through them at such a low price. Needless to say however, if the Nexus 5 comes over to Verizon, I'll have to retire my HTC DNA. Love it, but the Nexus 5 is such a sexy phone >.<

Jesus. Going with Verizon was the BIGGEST mistake of my life.

I ordered 2 nexus 5s and going to play ETFs and never touch Verizon again

So, what's the basis for the incompatibility? Is the Nexus 5 just flat-out incapable of working on Verizon if I were to plug in a Verizon SIM?
Will Google have to make another version of the 5, or is this something that can be rolled out with a firmware update?
I've given up trying to understand Verizon's customer satisfaction strategy, but want to understand the nuts and bolts of why it won't work on their network.

Yeah, I bought a 32GB version today too only to find out that it will not be compatible on VZW. Luckily, my contract is up pretty soon, I think. I plan on going to my VZW store and finding out the exact date. But yeah, I'm hopping off of VZW as soon as possible. I'm so sick of their nonsense. AT&T Straight Talk, here I come!

How to activate a nexus 5 bought thru Google play on T mobile

Hey all. This may sound like a noob question but I've been on sprint for YEARS and I'm totally new to t mobile and gsm devices (I'm thrilled about the change tho). Anyhow, I'm wondering, what's the process to activate a nexus 5 that I buy thru Google play onto t mobile? T mobile hasn't started selling it yet and I'd like to order it NOW. I already have a t mobile Sim card and it fits/works with the nexus 4. What else besides just popping the Sim card in would I have to do?
Thanks in advance!

That's about it, pop it in and turn it on. Should work right off the bat.

H*ly cr*p! Are you serious? It's that easy? Why the hell would anyone wait for t mobile to start selling it? Also, if I get the device from Google BEFORE t mobile starts selling it, you think it'll still work on the network?
Thanks a lot.

This is awesome news. I just have ONE more concern. If it's not shipping for weeks or something, will Google charge my credit card right away, or not until it ships?
And finally, what's the return policy? I don't wanna return it but if for whatever reason I can't sell my note 3 I may have to.
Thanks again guys!

They will not charge you until it actually ships.
They have a 15 day return policy, but if there is nothing wrong with it you'll pay return shipping.
I ordered it. Yay!!!!! I've never ordered a nexus device straight from Google. So exciting!!!!

Probably the updated Nexus 10. Your guess is as good as ours when that will be.
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
Probably tomorrow.
a new Nexus will be out next month, i was told by several Google employees
Ha you guys, i allready have it
Nexus 15 - Nexus phone for $15
Sent from my Nexus 5
I head rumors that the new nexus will is labeled under code name "Naked"
This phone will be so thin and flexible. They accomplished this by not including a hardshell or case, but something flexible and soft. THink of softshell crab.
Google figured that since 80% of the folks out there use put a case in a case that it would be counter intuitive to to sell a phone with a case.
Battery will be silver soldered on the flexible screen.

Phone return and freebies?

I'm returning my g5 until there is root available. I plan to purchase one again if root becomes available in the near future. I have the battery and camera promotion items being sent to me. Do those need to be returned as well?
Sent from my LG-H830 using Tapatalk
Nope I had 2 return 2 LG devices cause of screen bleed and I asked them the same question and they said no just return the phone.
Disclaimer: doing this more than once with no issue to the phone can set up a red flag for scam.
Sent from my LG-H901 using Tapatalk
Sweet thanks. Yeah I have no interest in doing this more than once, just like to know I have the freebies when I buy again. If hate to spend $650 on a phone again and not have the 360 camera and battery.
Sent from my LG-H830 using Tapatalk
I'm thinking... If you've received the freebies you're more then likely out of your return/refund period considering how long it takes to process the orders.

T-Mobile sent me the shipping label last night, phone is going out tomorrow.

So you are returning a phone, that you appear to like, until it has root then you are buying it again? Not really sure what that accomplishes but to each his own.
You're paying a $50 restocking fee because of no root? Must be nice. While you're in the giving mood, ill take $50

LOL go figure.
By then LG will most likely patch the ability to root. Better to keep the damn phone that you have rather then get set up for failure.
It's gone guys, let this thread die. My question has been answered.
