[Q] HTC sensation XE, ROOT problem.. - General Questions and Answers

Hi.
I recently started to see if I could root my phone, but no succes..
I can't seem to unlock my phone using the HTCDev site. When the CMD program try's to load the unlock.bin I get a error that the installation failed.
I would love some help here on how to bypass that!
I currently run the latest android that came with the phone, this would be my first time rooting.
It's not bought with a provider so that should't be a problem..
I would like preferably run Android 4.3.
Is there ANY good RECENT tutorial showing how to unlock my phone and root to 4.3? All other tutorials I found were not very well understandable..

I have to check firstly, do you have fastboot and adb installed on your computer and working properly? If not follow this guide: http://www.redmondpie.com/how-to-set-up-android-adb-and-fastboot-on-windows-tutorial/
Unfortunately you cannot proceed any further without unlocking your phone. The instructions given in the HTC Dev website are very clear and precise (because you are trying to unlock an OEM phone, you MUST follow the instructions given in the HTC Dev website). If you follow the instructions correctly, you will be able to unlock your phone. Installing customs ROMs and Kernels only come after unlocking (and there are a lot of tutorials online that teach you).

[Q] rooting huawei u8652 2.3.6 ?

Hi all!
New to phone hacking but not to computers. So I know enough to be dangerous. I want to root this phone and eventually want to do a custom ROM for it. My question is anyone succeeded in rooting this phone with 2.3.6? Here is what I have tried so far and have had no luck. I have spent three days on this before asking this question. So due diligence has been done.
I have installed the drivers / abt bundle enabled platform tools / pda net+ / fastboot
Unlock root = Does not get shell permission
Superone Click Tried many versions = many failed attempts and yes I entered the codes and enabled the log events and set to verbose.
Unlock root.com paid thirty dollars to get the same stuff that I tried. = scam
gingerbread exploit = does not support 2.3.6
universal androot = does not support 2.3.6
Emailed Huawei tech support for bootloader unlock code =
Dear Customer,
Thank you for contacting Huawei device.
Sorry about we haven’t released the Bootloader unlock code for U8652 now.
Once again thank you for contacting Huawei device.
Best Regards.
Huawei Device Customer Care Team.
It seems to me that with 2.3.6 on this phone I can't get to it. This may not be the case but have read that some people have downgraded to 2.1 and have got it to work. One thing I feel I'm pretty sure about that the bootloader has to be unlocked to do anything with this phone. I've tried fastboot and try and run it from windows it opens and it closes instantly. I try to run it from a command prompt and comes back with path not found.
Any ideas? Thanks BK

I have spent many days and night searching for how to root.
I got the Huawei Y210-151 and I have figured out how to root this scraps Telus phone.
First you have to download Y210 Recovery Installer.exe and Y210 root from google search. copy Y210 to SD card
Then you start theY210 Recovery Installer program then it you power up hold power+UP up to 10 seconds.
click on Y210 button you wait it will said ok ok ok.
Then you turn off the phone and back on again it will boot into recovery mode
then you select signature verification to disable
then you install zip file from sdcard, select Y210 root.zip
reboot the phone then download Root checker from google play.
Good Luck!
Now I am looking for for steps how to extract UN_Lock code.
to unlock SIM network.
I rooted my u8652 with cyanogenmod 7.2, it's running v2.3.7 right now, best it can get. I don't think anyone's doing any further development on this old phone. Hate to point you off xda, but this is the only place I found info on doing it:
http://androidforums.com/fusion-2-a...nstall-cyanogenmod-7-2-huawei-fusion-2-a.html
Even after rooting and getting rid of bloatware, the phone is still old dog slow, and even stuffed with a 16g SD card and shoving apps galore onto it, it's still crippled by the low internal ram, so you won't be able to install many apps on it.

[Q] Cricket XT1045 ( Moto G) - what can I do w/ this phone ?

Hello Everyone-
My apologies but, after reading page upon page of information, I am just more confused.
Has anyone found a method to unlock this bootloader yet - if even temporarily ?
All these terms ( TWRP, CWM, AOSP, etc.) just have my head spinning.
I am able to follow the steps to these processes, I just need to know which ones to follow.
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks

The section for the model mentioned that you are looking for is in http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g/4g-development
If you find it all confusing at this point, I'd recommend the use of http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g/4g-development/moto-g-4g-easyrecovery-toolkit-t2856710 for now.
Is this toolkit standalone ?
Somcom3X -
Thanks for the direction. If I use your toolkit, does it contain everything needed ? Can I disregard the other programs/files I dl'd in previous unlocking attempts - for example :adb tools treiber, Android Studio, etc.
I gave it a quick test, but my device never appears. This is what I see :
Your device is:
If this is incorrect please exit this program
Press any key to continue . . .
The phone is in fastboot mode, USB debugging on. I previously installed the ADB drivers w/i the toolkit. Do I also need to run (m)fastboot, as well ?
What am I missing here ?

Could you try using a different USB port/computer? All of the commands have been automated.
Phone was recognized, program went thru the motions but..
Command prompt did what it was supposed to do, but it still asked to enter unlock code from Motorola site. I just continued hitting any key to continue. Bootloader still locked. What now ?

You need the unlock code from the Motorola site. You'll be better off replying in that thread for the toolkit.

I thought that this toolkit did away with that requirement. As I mentioned in my OP, I am working with a Cricket XT1045. Motorola does not give out unlock codes for these versions.
I will post in that other thread if anyone has found a workaround.
Thanks
Without an unlock code, your pretty much on your own. However, this might work in your case: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2792487

Bootloader Unlock from HTCDev

Hello all,
Has anyone tried to unlock the Bootloader by following the steps given by HTC in HTCdev.com?
Is it the same as S-Off ?
I have done it, and no it isn't the same as S-Off. Unlocking the bootloader allows root access and access to only some system areas. Critical areas such as the radio firmware are still locked down as far as I understand. when the bootloader is unlocked the phone is still in an S-On state. You can still flash custom roms and poke around a bit with S-On
S-Off allows access to all the areas, even the critical ones and is much more dangerous as far as accidentally making your phone inoperable.

Thanks. I am unable to obtain Temproot on Sunshine. The prompt says unlocking Bootloader from HTCdev.com and then trying a different root method might work. Any tips on this?

There's a tutorial on YouTube, on how to use HTC.dev to unlock the bootloader. It shows a HTC 10 but still the same process.
The only part that will give you a headache is the bootloader token (which is covered in the video) I suggest you read up more and watch videos on the entire process and what the meaning of it all is.

It's still the same as back then. Last one I done was the HTC Droid DNA.
Here's the YouTube video I used for reference.

Haven't used Sunshine, just got back to Android a month ago from IOS. Good luck
I am submitting the form with the unlock token on HTCdev website and get the success message, but I never receive the email with the attachment! Account is registered to an gmail-account. Checked all folder including spam. I am using chrome as browser, tried two different computers (win 10, win 7) . I am not getting any response? The submitted token varies every time its generated even on the same PC. I thought the token is something like a guid, so there fore it should be the same every time generated? Thanks for your help!

LG Harmony - No Fastboot?

Sup people,
I bought a LG Harmony (cricket) as a quick replacement phone and was looking to root it. None of the one click root apps work so I figured I try a computer method. I seen a tutorial to root the K10/K20 (which is basically what the Harmony is so I've heard?) ..so I figured it would work, but I just cant get into fastboot. I tried the vol down thing as well as adb commands and it just won't go into fastboot. Is fastboot patched or something or is there another new method? Using 7.0 Nougat.
Bootloader Unlock
Hello...I have the LG Harmony as well. Just got it. I'm looking to modify the phone as well. Now, I'm a newbie as they say. Although I have rooted phones before, and successfully un-bricked a galaxy s2 a few years back. Anyway, you might go to the LG developer website and navigate to their unlocking the bootloader page. It gives you access to their tool (I believe) and has step by step instructions on how to go about unlocking the bootloader.
I'll be doing that soon myself. Have fun!
I went to the LG site already to look to see if they have a tool for the Harmony but I couldn't find anything. I had seen something on YouTube about a LG root tool as wrk but havent tried that. Let me know if you made any progress. I won't be able to try anything new until after I get off work.
Bootloader Unlock
Try going to mobile.developer.lge.com
There's an Unlock Bootloader option you can click on towards the bottom.
LG Harmony isn't listed under supported devices.
