We use custom kernels with CWM as CWM doesn't work on stock kernel. Till Sony release sources and developers update their kernel's you have to use the tutorial provided by another member.

Thanks but odin gives me pass, there is no problem in detecting my device

I installed CWM on an S Duos and got the same problem before....i think the problem was that you restarted your device and then tried to enter recovery mode...
When ODIN tells you pass...try removing battery...putting it back again, holding both volume keys + home button + power button....see if this works....

First make sure you have at least 1gb free space on your internal storage/ ext card.
Then boot to cwm and make backup from there.

Check the Development Section. Plenty of ROMs available there for Miro. See which one suits you.

for newbee......this one is best from fxp...download latest one 219
https://sites.google.com/site/projectfreexperia/download/cyanogen-mod-10
devise name mesona.......
It depends whether the phone has an unlocked bootloader. ;P
For example my Miro's BL can't be unlocked so I can't install cm 10..which obviously sucks.
So what I wanted to say is that you have to check if your bootloader is locked or unlocked.

OP yes check the Development threads and run/test for yourself.

thanks for the help. whrn i checked my phone kernel its version is kernel 2.6.35.14 [email protected]#2. is this the stock kernel for galaxy y or not
No man! Its not a stock kernel... Flash stock kernel manually or along with the stock ROM!!
But i would suggest using some custom kernel if you want to overclock it to 1 Ghz or may be 1.2!

Actually, when i pressed "bootloader unlock" in flashtool, it said to connect in flashmode. After connecting, it pushed some files and then asked to connect in fastboot mode. After that it said ur bootloader is unlocked. The phone bootlooped, and i had to flash stock rom.
No problem now, i flashed stock rom and then vengeance kernel. Got CWM....
Special thanks to @Rachit Rawat for that awesome kernel...
