Hey, I did some search on net and found that android kit kat can run on low memory devices and even on 512 MB Ram. So, I just want know that can we except it for our canvas A110 in future.
Kitkat is still not available for canvas 2. But if u wanna experience it then u can flash kitkat ui ROM by proseray . its a great rom

I think kitkat can run on the device but i doubt any manufacturer would release a device with one.
Anyways it's still early. the only device that runs kitkat is a nexus 5. I've still been waiting with a nexus 7 flo.
If that happens it wouldn't happen for at least 6 months.

it may and should, but I wouldn't expect it till mid or the end of 2014. See because micromax is very similar to samsung. Instead of just pushing the stock kitkat update, they have to load it with all their customized apps, games, etc. along with a custom UI/Themed system.
This isn't easy. And plus the have to release it fully stable. The only reason Nexus devices get android updates the day it is released is because google own it, meaning they have been working for months before getting it stable for devices.
Other manufactures don't know about the android updates, well other the motorola (google owns them too)
So, thats pretty much why I wouldn't hold my breathe.

No one will know until they announce it, and thats if the are going to release for the canvas 2. I mean we haven't got 4.3 yet, and that may be the next update
Is Micromax providing official kitkat upgrade for canvas 2 a110...
If so, then mobile performance decreases due to heavy load...

You can be sure of that..MMX has already started working on KK for A110 and A116..But be patient it will take time..MMX is saying that it is testing 4.3 for A116..But actually they are working on KK.:angel:

Getting paid apps for free is piracy and talk of that is not allowed here. Root has nothing to do with it. You can get JellyBean if someone has made a ROM for your device. Google 'micromax a110 rooting' and you'll definitely find sites explaining the process if it exists for your device.

Hmmm no you won't get any paid apps for free whether you root or not. its better for you to not root your device if you are doing it for the sake of warez

hello people . i just want to know that if you have upgraded your canvas 2 through service center officially rom ( not manually from servers and official roms through your pc )so how is it working ?? is there any problem ? coz i can see that on forums ppl are complaining about the bettery and other things .. so if you have upgraded ur phone to only from official service center .. please tell me that are you facing a single problem ?

no problem at all.
i updated stock rom using sp tools. i havnt faced even a single issue yet, apart from dull colors, even that can be fixed by using patch.
otherwise, thumbs up.
but that is a diff thing that my speaker is damaged now in order to inc. the volume of the device
will get it replaced soon

Couple of friends were sent back from the MMx service center without update saying that a new version will be out soon.
As far as I know nobody's updated from service center
so today i have visited the service center and they said to me that we have official veraion of jelly bean but if you will wait 1 month their will be one more new jellybean update coming with 4.2 ... so waiting

Literally I don't find much useful difference in my Nexus which has 4.2.2 and A110 with 4.1.1. And like you said A110 can easily take 4.2.2 and Key Lime Pie Android 5.0 as well. Why doesn't manufacturer upgrade easily? Marketing techniques. They want new devices to be sold.

Ya that's the only reason . I guess if smart phones were like PC's .you could install any operating system u want . And upgrade whenever needed.
Me to went with my dad to service center due to problem with micromax a87(his friends one) svc person said that mmx is releasing next android version in may be may 10 not sure he addedand already second update for jb that is v1.1 released which I already updated through spflash tools

and now varun have started building custom kernel so I expect a better ROM coming for a110 in future....

Headset issues on JB ROM
Hello Friends,
All the JB ROMS for Micromax A110 have headset issues. We can't Pause/Play/NextTrack using the headset button on any of the JB ROMs available out there. I have posted this problem in several forums asking for a solution. No one seems to have a solution for this issue. Whoever listens to music like me, stick to ICS

there is no such problem of battery or any thing i'd encounter while using jb v1.1 which is latest ... u have to keep in mind that there are 2 offiicial versions of jelly bean out there by micromax which are v1.0 old and v1.1 which is latest and bug less... and works like a charm...... ((((( if you need any further help about updating you canvas 2 with v.1.1 stock without losing warranty then i can help you with that aswell )))))

I tried almost all the players and none of them works. Actually, I bought PowerAmp sometime back and I use it. I did try 1.11 ROM and that also has this issue even with PowerAmp. Can you please let me know what you mean by headset controls are working. For me also answering and rejecting the call works perfectly, it's only the Music controls which are not working. I'm not the only one facing this issue there are others who reported the same issue in the Q&A. If it's working for you, Plaese let me know the pre-requisites and the process to flash the ROM.

4.2? Are you sure .!!!!!!!!!!! If sooooo our wait is over . After all MMX has to upgrade the kernel to v3.4.5 to support jb 4.2.
Unable to Root
Hi All,
I bought micromax a110 which came with jelly bean 4.1.1 preinstalled.
I tried all methods available on internet but unable to root it.
Please help.
I recently brought a Micromax A110 (aka Canvas 2) i must say MMX has done a pretty good job!
But when i tried to connect to mobile internet data it didn't connect?!
even though it shows that data net work has been connected, when I go to settings>About phone>Phone status>Sim status>Airtel>Mobile network State still shows "disconnected"
I running on the Stock Out of the box Firmware and the phone is currently not rooted.
Please refer to the attachments if you did not understood my problem :crying:
Go to the service center they will upgrade your device on jelly bean 4.1.1 it will solve your problem ) ( free of cost just need a photovopy of the bill ) hit thanks if i helped

EDIT: i searched google and found a way to update it using V3 Rom, Is it safe?
ha ha i m lazy too but micromax dosn't launch over the air update . and if u want to upgrade it manually then at your on risk coz many devices are bricked totally dead during the process ( which is oprated manually even wid official jelly bean update dpwnloaded on ftp srrver of micromax website ) i will suggest u to forget lazziness abt some hours lol jus like i did and go to the service center this is the pnly way to do process in safe way they have special usb cable with hardware decoder . even i am also going today .. to update my 2nd device .

Not sure...I have an experience in installing firmwares on Samsung devices, but that is completely different ball game :silly:
if I update myself and successfully too, Then will my data be saved or I will lose all of it?

yeah i hv also upgrade my device many times and issue is wid baseband and imei which i lost during nv flash in my lg optimus 2x and yes you can do it manually anyone who has some lil knwldge of computers they cn but we believes on us but not on micromax devices ( indian company which has getting populer day by day jus about this device ) i have upgraded again my device through service center .. it will tk your 15 min from your busy life ..now its up to u you will lost all of ur data which is stored in phone memory or sd .. so trasfer all of ur data and apk's ( app backup and restore app is for non rooted devices ) to external memory card and enjoy . hit thanks if i m helpful

Bro there's no such risk....and a110 can never be hard bricked....
Try a ROM or the MMX official update....
Just Flash through CWM...
And about the data....just have a Titanium Backup...

i cant seem to find any custom ROMS anywhere over the internet or this forum.
believe me i used all types of search queries.
is somebody working on a custom ROM or should i try and learn how to make one?
and lastly i cant seem to understand why a quad core phone struggles with 720p HD video playback .
is it possible to remedy that by flashing a custom ROM?

Device too new?
I've been looking for custom ROMs for the i8552 this week. I think the device is too new to have custom ROMs (released May 2013), and has not elicited the level of marketing attention as the S4, S3 LTE from Samsung.
I sure hope that changes though. I chose this device over the Galaxy Express (i8730) for the mere fact that everything almost being equal, the Galaxy i8552 (or Grand Quattro as it's called in some markets) has a quad-core processor. It'd be a waste if no devs hacked up a ROM for this great value phone.
i think all users of this device should come together and form a thread.after enough users are there we can request xda for a forum..
I was wondering if a custom will allow this device to play hd videos smoothly.
if yes, then ill try building my own rom. Cuz I believe the adreno 203 gpu is atleast capable of 720p playback.
also, is it possible to decode the video using the cpu? That might make 1080p playback possible

i have a galaxy grand and was trying to install Gennxt Rom by balli boxer on it.
upgraded it to leaked firmware 4.2.2 and downloaded the Gennxt ROM but the problem is when i try to install it through CWM it says installation aborted can any1 plzzz help me out with this.

Please don't make me regret for buying this phone. I only bought it because i thought that it's development will go on forever unlike its competitors Micromax A116 and XOLO Q1000.
Samsung provides the source code right? The other manufacturer's don't provide it, so development is limited.
Also, Samsung has a good service here(India) then it's counterparts.

Hi Guys,
I Tried a very stupid step to update my Canvas 2 Jellybean(already updated from ICS to jellybean 4.1) device to upgrade to Jellybean 4.3.
I downloaded a Jellybean 4.3 stock ROM from XDA forum, don't remember the exact details about the ROM and the link now. But, will let you know all the exact details later if required.
The thing is while i was trying to upgrade the jellybean 4.1 to 4.3 SP tools gave a msg that you cannot upgrade. So, i replaced MT loader file for 4.3 with 4.1 and the bootloader file was missing. SP tool gave a warning even that the device my not work but still i started the process > after the process completed my device went dead completely.
Now it's not powering ON, no LED's glowing, Vol up+Vol down + Power button is also not working.
Then i formatted the device using SP tool and tried all options like download, upgrade firmware with jellybean 4.1 stock ROM to get back to previous state but nothing is working.
Now, even i am unable to load jellybean 4.1, which used to load easily in my device!!!
If you need any further information please let me know and is it possible i can make my device working now without going to Service center?

THANKS A LOT BRO, I FOLLOWED THE INSTRUCTIONS PROVIDED IN THE THREAD DISCUSSION PROVIDED BY YOU AND I WAS ABLE TO RESTORE MY PHONE TO ORIGINAL STATE. PHONE IS WORKING AWESOME NOW AND I TRIED MANY DIFFERENT CUSTOM ROMS ON MY PHONE AS WELL. IT WAS REALLY HELPFULL AND KNOWLEDGEABLE!
