Tmobile samsung Galaxy question. Possible rooting help too. - General Questions and Answers

Hi I had some questions, that if the action can be done by rooting my phone i was wondering if someone can send me to a video or tell me them self step by step clearly how to root a phone and if needed a custom rom with detail enough that i wont brink my phone i would very much appreciate that.
First My phone seems when on the app store to download apps really slowly, i have factory reset my phone but still acts this way can anyone help me with this issue?
Also my battery life seems to be very bad i see my phone at 97 percent one moment the 80 the next. Is the only way to increase battery life is by power saver mode and limiting my cpu and setting my brightness to nothing? or are there better options out there?
Also I was told rooting my phone and using battery calibrate might help is that true?
I have the Samsung galaxy s2 with a 1.5 cpu from t-mobile running on 4.1.2.
P.s Any other information you might know about this that will help my phone for the better please also include seeing that i have never dealt with this phone. (also i know its kinda old but with college its the only thing that really fit my budget)
P.s.s i wrote this same post on the wrong section can someone tell me how i can delete it so this isnt considered as spam or anything, would be appreciated

Samsung Ace S5580?

Hello, I'm a new Android user and have had no experience with it before yesterday. I'm not sure if this is the right place to post.
I bought a Samsung Ace S5830 (with a white back) and found the navigation easy to use, even though I liked the HTC's (Sense?) in the stores a lot more but I didn't bought the cheapest in line (Wildfire) due to it's poor screen quality, there are a lot of apps in the market which seem useful (altough my experience with my Apple iPod Touch and iPad app stores are a bit more positive so far).
I figured out the system works with Launchers to change home screens, but all it does is change the display I'm looking at and nothing about the back-end/inside system. Also I get a slight idea this drains battery life fast.
I'm wondering if anyone knows if it's possible to root the phone already, but first I'd actually like to know what Rooting actually does and what benefits apply, nowhere it's explained simple for new users and every guide I'm trying to look into gives me a headache and I get lost within it with the countless of phrases and references I don't know anything about.
So my basic questions are:
1. Is the Samsung Ace (S5830) root-able?
2. What are the benefits of rooting this phone?
3. In case I f*ck things up so badly, can I restore my phone to factory defaults? If yes, how?
I'm looking for simple answers with steps a new user can execute, keep in mind I don't know a lot about Android as of yet and nothing at all about rooting.

[Q] Ok. Please not this time :(

ok, so everyone probably knows that the samsung galaxy ace is a new phone. and yes i have one. it's been a month with me now and it works fine until now. I rooted it, and it worked great. I even installed setcpu and adjusted the mhz. so, i searched youtube for a custom kernel for it and the video says to backup your data on rom manager. so I did, then it froze on me and turn black and it doesn't turn on anymore. removed the battery already to no avail. please. any reply would help. I'm not that rich to buy a new one.

what do you mean deleted?
too bad man, i have experienced that same scenario with my galaxy which is 2weeks old and did the same thing you did back up my rom using rom manager and then just this afternoon my phone didnt respond anymore so i rushed to the store where i bought it then i told the same old make your own story telling then thats it they will be replacing a new galaxy after 3 days.. i think technicians wont know if its bricked by you installing or using some third party unless there is a physical damage on the phone like short circuits or the like... hope you solve your probs..
oh so there's really no fix for this huh?
i must say yes none as of the moment. its like this, our galaxy ace is just months old so lets not be so hasty when it comes to third party software that may cause instability to our phone or brick our phone... ill just wait for the devs to have an eye to our galaxy ace and make a new advancement to our unit.

sounds like you overcooked the SNS setting it too high?
did you install any custom ROM ?
have you tried flashing it back to stock?
does the phone turns on at all?
make sure the battery is fully charged

Hello Guys and restore phone

Hello guys,
First of all, this is a very nice forum, and got info about everything, but it doesnt have my device in it ;(
secondly, i am a newbie  hehe.
i am glad i found this place,, and i hope a noob is welcomed and assisted to be a pro one day
okay, here is what happened. I have a Samsung GT B5512 (touch and type, dual sim, dual camera and a crappy config phone)
well, I have rooted it. and done hell lot of things with it. but dint spoil up anything but still somehow managed to remove android recovery and put ODIN downloader over there.
but, few days ago i noticed, my secondary camera is fault, so i am going to give it to replace.
as we all know, my warranty is "dead and gone away" but still, i wish there was any way to make phone "stock device".
so can anyone help me in that?
and secondly, after i get my camera replaced, stock is gonna go out of the windows.. so as cyanogenmod is not available for my device, can anyone suggest me any other mods?
(dont care for the graphics, i am the PERFORMANCE GUY)
So any suggestion or solutions?
I don't know anything about your device so I can't help with the specifics, but some things I recommend are:
1. Backup all of your data with Titanium backup and store one on your PC before sending your phone in
2. Search for more info about your device both here and on other Android forums, there's bound to be a tutorial for returning to stock (seeing as there was one for rooting it)
3. Check for unofficial versions of Cyanogenmod, there are usually plenty
4. Consider MIUI, it's fast and has a fair amount of eye candy, although for me personally it's far too iOS-esque
Thanks

[Q] Why even unlock / boot load / roms for my GS3

Hey guys, just want to start off with an apology. I know these are stupid questions but I couldn't find an answer on the forums from searching that I could understand or that was made in the last 5 years. So here it goes.
I got a Samsung Galaxy S3 (SGH-T999) and like any new product it's stuffed full of garbage apps and bloatware. Well I want that all gone and I want full control of my device! I'm an electrical engineer, so I'm not an idiot I'm just not a software guy, so I need some very basic answers and I'll just google the rest I don't understand.
1. I know you can buy unlock codes and it lets me use other sim cards, I dont care about this, I'm keeping t-mobile for the next two years, not my choice. Does it do me any good otherwise?
2. I can install custom roms, I did this on my GS1 but it never worked out right and was really buggy. Is this the general idea of how it works? I want my phone to be as stable as possible and I want all its functionality.
3. The other apps you aren't supposed to have. I read an article in maximum PC about apps that aren't on the play store that let you under clock your CPU to get better battery life and make your phone more efficient. Do these exist, are they worth it?
4. WiFi tethering, I have T-mobile, and they want me to pay for tethering, this is bull****, if I don't go over my 2gb soft cap, then why should I be charged? If I unlock / boot load (what even is a boot load?!?!?) can I do that for free?
Thanks for the help, if you are kind enough to help me out, could you please not use short hand, I can't really google acronyms and expect an accurate result. Saves me and you time.
