Has anyone noticed that the volume for apps is quite low?
Any way of fixing it?
Thanks!
Franco kernel will be able to tweak just about everything once its ready.

Hi
Does anyone know if there's a way to further reduce the in-call volume on the Desire S?
Even at it's lowest setting I often find the volume in a call to be a little too loud for me.
Anyone know of an app to do this or some way to tweak the phone?
My DS is unrooted on stock 2.3.5 (sadly).
Thanks in advance.
Ben
I doubt this would be possible unless you replaced your kernel, even then I doubt any have this feature! Let me know if you do find a way, however!
And I would like to know how to raise max in call volume ?

That doesn't sound right. (Honestly no pun intended there. ) I seem to remember my stock ROM would go down to inaudible levels.
What could be happening, which I have encountered before, is the phone's G-Sensor calibration is shot, so the phone thinks it's always face down, and hence answers all call in loud speaker mode. This would be very loud held to your head!
Try going into: Settings> Sound> and deactivate 'flip for speaker' or something similar to that. (Sorry I'm not running a Sense ROM right now so can't remember the exact phrasing.)
If this drops volume levels back to comfortable levels then re-calibrate your G-Sensor, or leave the 'flip for speaker' setting off.
If not, and you have super-human hearing, the only other options would be;
Rooting the phone and using a custom kernel with volume tweaks
Using earphones with an in-line volume slider.
Stuffing cheese in your ears.
Any 3rd party apps will simply tap into the existing volume controls so I doubt they'll be of any help. You could give Audio Manager a go though....

really? lol, mine is sometimes too soft on max volume n loud areas
Mine is definitely too quiet. I had a T-Mobile branded one but currently runing Endymion on it. I red somewhere on the forum that many T-Mobile branded devices has low max volume settings but I though that custom kernel will solve the problem.
As you can see, i'm new to this forum. Until now i've used a Samsung Galaxy Spica and got my custom roms from samdroid..another forum rules...
I own a Nexus S, flashed with CyberGR-MOD v.12 + Air Kernel v4.2.
The first problem is the in call volume. I've searched the forum and did not found a similar solution to other samsung phones (service mode), only programs that doesn't seem to work.
What have i noticed is that, when i'm making a call, the volume slider doesn't go to the last step. Using the buttons i can go only to the 5 of 6 steps and if i try to move the slider using the touchscreen, the slider is jumping to te 6th step and then back to the 5th. And the volume is to low... Can this be repaired somehow?
Another question...Can i play videos encoded as mkv 720p??? With no overclocking, the image is laggy? and if i overclock to 1200 or 1400 mhz (i've tried even with 15mV voltage increase) my phone is freezing. Am i trying the impossible or what? The overclocked phone is freezing only when i try to watch the 720p mkv.
Thanks for your answers and excuse my english.
the in call volume bug is a known bug of aokp rom which cybergr rom has parts of. I think the workaround is just to unlink volumes in sound settings
unlink volumes in sound settings

...that's the solution for jumping slider.
What about some hack to boost in-call volume? Meltus, the creator of Volume+, made a program that addes a line to build.prop making up to 100 steps to volume slider. Is there any code that could be added to build.prop or somewhere else to boost in-call volume?
I've found that with other than Air Kernel mkv720p videos doesn't crash the phone, but the image is also laggy. At least the phone stays on.
Another problem...or not...
WIFI turns itself ON. I've spotted this behavior using trinity kernel, who torned on wifi or data. Now i'm using matr1x and, from time to time, i see that wifi is turned on when i wake up the phone.
It's true that i saw this behavior when i was around known hotspots, but still, maybe i don't want wifi to turn on by itself...
Any solution?
I installed an unofficial version of cm 10 that was linked by someone here in one of the forums, named "cm-10-20120816-d2vzw.zip", other than NFC (which I don't care about), everything works, even mms, I have cwm 6.0.1.2, and aosp kernel, so no kernel required. It runs VERY smooth, I've been using it instead of TW for a few days now, and happy with it. Anyway, when I get calls, every time, the in-call volume shows low, but it's at its loudest possible, I have to click higher, then lower to get it under control. I have installed volume+, but that doesn't really seem to have any effect on any volume anyway, but regardless, this resets on EVERY call, I don't think volume+ would cause that. It resets again for the next call even if I lower it of the previous calls. Does anyone know a fix? Any way to get the in call volume setting to stick? All other volume settings are remembered, why not this? It's so out someone walking by 50 ft away could hear the phone (not speakerphone) clearly. Really need help with this!
Any suggestions would be welcome.
Does anyone have an recommended apps to fix the in call volume? The sound currently is so low that I can barely tell if someone is on the line. I tried using Paranoid Android and Pacman rom, still no real improvement. I've cleaned out the speakers as well.
I had same issue. I did what you did and it didn't work. In call volume went down real low. I could never find a remedy. If you do,let us know.
For anyone else that finds this, a stop gap is hit volume down when you're on your call, then you can increase the volume with the volume up button. If I find a better solution I'll post here.
Hi guys. I have a strange problem that I can't figure out. I'm using the Code Blue kernel and use the Fauxsound feature to boost the headphone volume to hook to my Camry aux in port and the volume will reset to stock low levels which is annoying. I have to reset the volume back to my boosted levels but once I get out of the car and come back in it is back to stock.
So my question is: am I missing something? Is there a kernel without Fauxsound that is pretty good? I'm on the stock 5.1.1 ROM with Xposed. I have been searching and usually my Google fu works. On KK I would just have boosted the audio mixer file and called it good but apparently LP has it's own dynamic gain thing?
Thanks.
Bump. Anyone?
