I've PERMANENTLY removed about 10~15 ROMs from the index thread because OPs removed the date from the index's name. I will do the same to any ROM that doesn't have release date in the thread's name!Guys... look at the new template... do you like it?

I want to update the index as soon as possible... But I thought I should ask you to send me

Hello guys! I'm a new member and a complete noob regarding android.
This will be my first smartphone and I want to root it because i want to exploit it and optimize and maybe OC it.
I also need to unlock my phone so I can swap sim cards.
Which tutorial for rooting do you recommend for a noob as myself and what should i do next regarding kernels and roms??

Guide for how to install The CM10/AOSP (jelly Bean)
- Download the rom for your device.
- Place the rom on your device.
- Turn your device off.
- Go into CWM Recovery by holding down the Power+Volume Down
(This method only works on Galaxy Tab's)
- In Cwm Go to Install zip fro sdcard ---> Choose zip from sdcard
- And find the Jelly Bean rom!
- Install it And wipe your device (Dalvik Cache/Cache/System!)
- And don't forget to install Google Apps(Gapps)
How to Install Google Now:
Open Root Explorer & navigate to /system
Now Open build.prop in Text Editor.
Edit ro.build.version.sdk = 16 & save.
Now go to /system/app & Rename GoogleQuickSearchBox.apk to GoogleQuickSearchBox.apk1
Now reboot & install the app from the download link.
Now edit build.prop & change ro.build.version.sdk = 15 & reboot.

I searched so much for a picasa sync solution, tried to manually push gallerygoogle.apk, and nothing worked. Yours DID Thank you after days of very creative search strings i managed to stumble upon this. I am so happy I did.
