Anybody have a guess when n5 will be available on T-Mobile?

I had read around November 10th. But I didn't see any source for that comment.

You do realize that they'll be selling it for about 600 bucks, right? Their N4 is currently being sold outright at $427.99, a gigantic markup from the actual MSRP.
Avoid buying a Nexus from T-Mobile at all costs, unless you're really desperate to spread the payments out. Either way, you're looking at 600 bucks.

Will the T-Mobile marked up version support Wi-Fi calling? That feature was a boon when I was overseas (or in flight) and called home via wifi.

Sadly, no. No Nexus phone has ever had T-Mobile wifi calling and thats not going to change.

That's my question too. It would be worth a new 2 year commitment if I could get wifi calling.
I'm also waiting for Tmobile to 'force' me into a family simple choice plan with some kind of incentive.

maybe this time, the wifi calling bits from the LG G2 will find their way into a N5 ROM.

Nope. TMo sold the same exact device that you would get if you purchased from the Play Store.

That is possible! Someone was working on an Optimus G port for the Nexus 4 last year!

I had asked around in some threads to find out if that was true awhile ago. It's because the phone was meant to be unlocked (Tmobile locked it) that they couldn't put it on. It's just not compatible.

Activating a N5 bought from T-Mobile on Virgin mobile

So I have noticed that Sprint's coverage map is full blown LTE in my town now and was thinking about a cheap prepay Sim from Sprint to try it out. Will I have any problems doing this while its still active on my T-Mobile account? I get Sprint real cheap through work so I'm curious. Thanks.

Swap sims and reboot phone. Easy. Now getting Virgin Mobile USA to activate a Nexus 5... that's the hard part.

T-Mobile support?

Hi, I was thinking about buying a nexus 5, but I didn't know if it would support my t-mobile plan. Any answers?

Questions go in the question forum, not general. The phone will work on t-mobile. There are plenty of threads please look before posting.

Call their support and verify your IMEI and SIM card #. It should work. You might need a new SIM card if you cut it down to fit your N5 since older simcards don't support LTE.

Worked with support for almost two weeks until finally they changed my plan to a measured one. They said the phone was not compatible with the plan though I used my N4 with absolutely no problem. They were not selling the N5 at the time and the support guy I work with had not been trained yet on the N5 (his training was scheduled that next week). They insisted it had nothing to do with the SIM card (I wanted to get a new one but I had gotten a new SIM when I upgraded to the N4).
They tried all sorts of things to get the N5 to connect -- the signal indicator showed LTE, but I was only able to get 2G services (phone, mail and SMS). After the plan change I connected immediately to the LTE data network.
T-Mobile had announced their intention to migrate grandfathered plans to the new metered plans so I was expecting it, but not so soon, and not necessarily because of my upgrade to the N5.
I bought mine direct from Google and it has worked since day one.
I've read that the one T-Mobile sells in the store is identical to the Google play version, but I wanted the 32G one.
But yeah. I'm on T-Mobile and no problems at all. If you aren't already using the new smaller sim cards you'll need to pick one up, but if you're coming from N4 etc you probably already have one.
Literally mine was Plug and play.

I expected mine to be seemless, too. When I was checking my account it had no name associated with the plan -- hadn't since I could remember.
Sounds like a nightmare... that's really weird. Mine worked out of the box. I did have an issue with the 4.42 OTA and root, though, ended up flashing to stock using the Google 4.42 image and after that it worked again. Did yours work before the OTA?

Google Nexus 5 in Verizon, yes or no?

Hi All, I'm a verizon user currently with a Galaxy S3, however in a few days my contract ends and I need a new phone (my S3 screen broke and I don't plan on fixing it) and I was wondering, is the Nexus 5 capable of fully running in Verizon network? is someone using it in verizon?
Sorry if this question has been asked many times, but I trully can't find a decent and recent answer to it.
Thanks,
Rodrigo

Yes.
It supports LTE on T-Mobile, AT&T, Sprint, and any MVNO/pre-paid with access to those carriers' LTE networks. I'm using it on AIO Wireless with LTE.

Absolutely not on both counts. The Nexus 5 is a GSM phone, Verizon's network is CDMA. If I were you I would ditch Verizon for either T-Mobile or AT&T, of if you prefer, you can buy service from an MVNO that uses one of their networks.

This is the reason I switched to T-Mobile after 9 years of Being on Verizon. Been with Verizon since right before my 18th bday (27 now) and after all those years of basically being pretty damn happy with my service, they let me down too many times in the last 2 years. First by the fiasco that was the Verizon version of the Galaxy Nexus, 2nd by not getting the Nexus 4 and then finally, not getting the Nexus 5.
So The fact that they, in my opinion, are ruining Android on CDMA networks, and them not carrying the Nexus 5, was just the final straw and I suspended my account until I can afford to early terminate my Two lines (which are up soon anyways, so I may just un-suspend and let them run their course) and I switched to T-Mobile, got my Nexus 4 while I waited for the 5 to be in Stock, and then Got my Nexus 5.
I also traded in the Note 3 I had on Verizon (with a locked Bootloader) for a T-Mobile version that has an unlocked bootloader.
Case in Point, Verizon is worthless for Android users.

But I'm kinda confused here. The Nexus 4 and 5 are cdma capable (for sprint), but not in Verizon's band, is this a Verizon issues? I mean couldn't google be blamed by not having the hardware that supports Verizon's specific band?

No verizon is to blame for messing up the Galaxy Nexus so bad that Google wont let them carry Nexus devices anymore, and before you ask about what htey did with the Galaxy Nexus that was so bad, use GOOGLE ! lol
oh and the hardware would support Verizon, Verizon just doesn't support the hardware
The Nexus 5 is a Sprint phone. Sprint phones can work on Verizon. How do you that? You make work through illegal methods (EXTREMELY DIFFICULT). Which is what I'm working on. My parents won't let me leave Verizon easily. So I kinda have no choice technically. But I ordered a T-mo Sim card anyways and I might just leave without saying anything. But I'm still working on it till it arrives.

Cloning to get a Nexus 5 to work CDMA on Verizon is a total waste....Evdo access only -you would be better off using a different device to WiFi hotspot and just use the Nexus 5 as a tablet until you can leave Verizon. Even if you had a friend internally add the MEID you would still be missing out on the LTE coverage. Big hassle to be going backwards in terms of data connectivity. You could make Google Hangouts calls over the tethered connection and utilizing Google Voice you can forward all calls to Google Talk/Hangouts so it would be like using a WiFi Phone.

I was unaware of the Band 13 support. (I know Verizon's Band 4 LTE AWS is supported)
If you have your Nexus 5 showing Band 13 support and a Verizon rep willing to add your MEID into Verizon's approval list...then I do not see a dilemma with having a full functioning Nexus 5 on Verizon. (Nothing Illegal this route)

really considering jumping over since they pay the ETF

so has any dev found a way to get this working on the n5

In short, T-Mobile is known to have spotty coverage so they have a proprietary software that allows you to leverage wifi connection to make phone calls. Pretty great actually if you have a phone that supports it.

and there's been a $1400+ bounty for wifi calling on nexus 4, no one's claimed it
so don't count on having wifi calling on nexus 5.
t-mobile do have femtocells (basically a small cell site inside your house), dunno the difficulty in getting one, or that you should even consider moving to t-mobile if your home reception is that bad.
also, t-mobile only sells the 16gb of n5.
I have a nexus 5, also have a really old froyo t-mobile android phone with wifi calling if I were to travel overseas

AT&T G3 on T-mobile Network

Today I bought an At&t LG G3, sim unlocked it so i can use it with T-mobile.
So just wanted to let others know that At&t G3 works on Tmobile network and i do get 4G or 4G LTE.
You might be wondering why didn't i just buy Tmobile G3. well i have a contract with at&t that my family uses and i am using tmobile $30 plan unlimited data/text and 100mins prepaid plan which is perfect for me and one of my at&t line was eligible for upgrade so i upgrade it and paid $100+tax for the phone at BESTBUY. didn't want to pay $600 for T-mobile G3.
