I have tried to flash the Cyanogen 6 rom for the Sprint Hero a few times and it hasn't worked. I think I may be missing something simple so maybe you guys could help. I've gotten either of the following two results after flashing: A never-ending boot loop OR it just sits on the HTC boot image and never finishes booting. I've left it for HOURS before with no results.
My setup:
*Sprint Hero
*Rooted with Androot
*Stock ROM (unfortunately)
*ClockworkMod recovery image
When I try to flash the image I have both the Cyanogen .zip and the Gapps .zip on the root of the SD and use the ClockworkMod recovery to "install from .zip" first the Cyanogen .zip and then the Gapps. Do I need a new kernel as well? Any other suggestions?
I am having the same problem with my Hero. I downloaded the Vanilla CM6 build from another thread on this forum (can't post external link to it, don't know how to post internal link yet) and installed using Clockworkmod. It appears to install successfully, but then I just get stuck with the Cyanogen boot screen looping. The animation plays for several seconds (sometimes hitching slightly as if background processing is happening), then eventually freezes for a couple of seconds, then starts over. This happens indefinitely.
Are additional steps required beyond simply installing the ROM via Clockworkmod?
Nevermind. I had not chosen to wipe when installing Cyanogen from within ROM Manager. I did that this time and now it is booting successfully.
I managed to dual boot to Ubuntu thanks to lilstevie

But then I went to install Prime ROM 1.7 (thanks to Roach2010 great work).

I've used the flash provided by rdnetto

Tried download-ubuntu.sh and lilsteview download.sh but I am unable to boot to Ubuntu anymore since lilstevie uses recovery mode to boot to 2nd OS.
Right now it would bring up clockworkmod recovery. ANyway to disable that and boot back to Ubuntu like before?
Thanks everyone.
I tried the dual boot method, using cm10 (the dual boot enabled version) as primary ROM and cm10.2 as the secondary ROM.
I installed cm10 and the special GAPPs and rebooted my phone, configured the setup and then flashed cm10.2 over it. After cm10.2 booted up, I switched to cm10 using the dual boot app without any problem, however, while trying to boot into cm10.2, my phone gets stuck on a black screen.
Please help me because I really wanted to dual boot my Pico.
Hello guys,
I've been trying to get MultiROM to work properly for some time now and I've come here as my last resort. I need a kexec-hardboot patch but I can't get it to work without getting in a bootloop (mostly).
What I've already done:
-Unlocked bootloader
-Root
-Installed TWRP
-Installed MultiROM
TWRP works, MultiROM works, booting into CM11s works (stock since purchase). Any other ROM does not because I need a custom kernel.
The MultiROM has cm11.zip (AK kernel I think) with it. Installing cm11.zip causes a bootloop (cannot get into MultiROM at all).
The cm12.zip does more, I CAN get into MultiROM with that, but loading a ROM either freezes upon entering the lock screen and reboots, or freezes during the boot animation.
I've tried AK kernel separately, does get to multiROM, not any other ROM.
Needless to say, I am clueless. I am new to the Android community but am somewhat tech savvy (have used linux before, IT is main course at school, ...).
Any assistance or help is greatly appreciated. TWRP works and so does ADB, so I'm not close to bricking anything anytime soon.

Hi
I'm running CM12.1 Nightly with Pure Performence MOD(CM version)
I'm trying to flash few kernel but nothing works.
I tried
1)Optimus Kernel
2)HurtSky(Extradt2w) Kernel
3)Elementary Kernel
When I flash the first one, my system reboots and shows " Finishing Boot" then again it reboots. This time its on a bootloop, the Cm boot animation appears and nothing else.
When I flashed the second one, it shows " Fastboot : Fail through-normal boot mode" That's it
When I flashed the third one, My screen starts flickering now and then in boot animation and after the boot too.
Does anyone know how to fix this ?
Do I need to change my SELinux ? Right now Its "Enforcing" ?
Your help will be greatly appreciated
Thanks in advance
no, kernel is not supporting your phone you just need to flash another kernel if you have in you internal memory or just restore backup
