Yeap . Man though I love everything about the new kit kat system. Launcher ...everything from the new system is on my note 3 now. FC on me too when sending mms .ugh back to note 3 stock messenge app !

No problems here. sms works everytime for me. I just have issues with mms.
Just curious. What's the difference and is there anything better then using hangouts SMS vs the regular messaging app?

I love the UI and on top of that the fluidity of the app is a lot better than most messaging apps out there. It runs a lot smoother.
Did anyone figure out the MMS FC issue on Hangouts? I can send SMS fine but when sending MMS the app will FC.

I think it's something that only an update can fix...just a guess cuz i've tried everything to get it to work...
I would love to get the MMS problem sorted, I hate the stock messaging app.
The issue with the MMS is that Hangouts was extracted from the nexus 5 4.4 KitKat. So the apn settings in the app don't have Verizon or AT&T in the apn.xml file. There is a working for Verizon someone added them. However for us AT&T users until someone decompiles the app and edits the XML we wont have it working. I do not know how to i have never messed with it. I did send a request to the Verizon modded developer requesting he add AT&T

Dope. That should be a quick fix with apktool. Let's get someone on it!
Edit: I'm semi-on it right now. Found the apn xml.
Edit2: The ATT mms apns are already in there.
Edit3: can't get the damn thing to compile... Noobproblem.

We have no clue what APN settings you require nor what you have. Its based on provider
Check your APN settings, and compare with what you should have.
Could it be anything other than my APN settings because I can receive MMS just fine.

I've heard alot about folks being able to receive but not send. I've never gone through it, nor can I remember much about the issue.
But yes, in theory it could be something else, but APN settings would be the first I'd check.

Hello all,
I switched my Skyrocket from Embryo to PAC-man yesterday and am enjoying the hell out of it. However, I find myself less than pleased with the Contacts application included in it. My primary issue is that I can't merge contacts, but I have a few other problems with it.
I was wondering if anyone could help me with the process behind replacing the Contacts in PAC-man with the Contacts from Embryo, or if there are any suggestions for a different app altogether. I tried searching the forums and couldn't find any particularly helpful posts, and Contacts+ from the Play Store is a nightmare.

There is no way to do an app switch from embryo to PAC let me make that perfectly clear.

Embryo is touchwiz-based rom and the contacts app depends critically on touchwiz framework. PAC is AOSP based and does not have touchwiz framework.

I am using the new hangouts, I haven't used video calls, ever, so I don't care about that, and MMS I use so rarely as to not care about that either. The SMS part works great for me so far.
MMS works as well. I'm using all the files leaked on Android Police flawlessly. Even the launcher.

Since I had the phone on Thursday everything was fine. I've been using 8sms messaging app and I was able to send and receive pictures. But on Monday all my mms speed coming through. All I get is the notification that there is an mms waiting (see picture). And it's not just for pictures but even if I send a mass text message to a couple people and someone replies it comes back as a mms and even that won't come through, after I click the "download" button it just says "couldn't download message no subject from (senders name)". I'm on a T-Mobile family plan.

Seems no, I changed my default messaging app back to hangout and had a friend send me a picture, she says she sent two but nothing came through not even the notification like in the above screenshot.

are you using an alternate gallery besides the stock gallery and/or the photos app?

Oh wow - I have to say this is really dumb, I just changed my default to making app to textra and all the pictures/ mms I had waiting came through in the textra app. Still nothing through hangouts and 8sms...

I had this issue a few phones ago with Tmobile. I had to call and add MMS to my account even though it's free. Might not still be that way but worth a call.
Well it works with the textra app but not with hangouts or 8sms.

I am just wondering if anyone else is having issues with MMS through Hangouts on HTC stock Sense? It isn't that they do not send at all, they just take ridiculous amounts of time to do so. At first I thought perhaps it is just my data connection, as where I live has particularly spotty data, however all other data-using functions seems to function fine, so I am perplexed as to what could be causing this. Yes, I am S-Off'd and rooted, though I seriously doubt these are to blame (especially since my MMS issues were present prior to both of these. Thanks for any and all input.

Yeah of course. Here is the link (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2709328) however there doesn't seem to be a resolution at the moment. I have since switched back to the native messaging app and have had no issues.
