CM 10.x - HTC One Mini

Hi there, I am coming from an HTC ONE V to HTC One mini (I like the form factor and the 512mb were REALLY not enough for me... hope that the 1Gb will do it).
Just received the device today so directly jumped on xda to flash it on CM but ... a bit disapointed that nothing has been ported out yet.
Hopefuly will be released soon. If beta testers needed, PM me.
Hope to see smth soon as I am already bored of Sense5.
Cheers guys

It is in the works. You can find some information in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2459528
Funny enough, I am also coming from One V. Looking back it feels like a toy in comparison with the Mini.

Looks like abandonware to me ... but I might be too pessimistic on that topic.
Not a coincidence but only consumer insight. Bought the One V and the One Mini because I hate big screen phones that don't fit in one hand/my pocket. It's a pity that the only manufacturer that exploits such a form factor with the last tech components seems to be the Pear.
Anyway, hope the hardware on this One Mini will be enough for all my apps to run properly ... and hope to see a CM mod soon enough anyway (and that's a lot of hopes in one sentence)

great news. i hope i can use ICS on my DS soon.
Will DS be updated by HTC officially?
The official list only contail mobile with dual core.
We don't know yet, time will answer.
I'm pretty sad to break this to you, but the chances of an AOSP build are very low because of this - http://www.androidpolice.com/2011/1...he-heavy-artillery-this-is-what-it-will-take/
Barely anyone here can have this kind of stuff. The best chance we have is waiting for a build for Desire HD (It's the most likely HTC device to get one) and then superkid will port it.
Our Desire S will get the update prior to Desire HD.
Check out this link... Source
cheer!!!
I don't mean an official update from HTC, i mean a custom ROM built from source by XDA devs. That, DHD is sure to recieve first, the devs there are too many.
okay, but i guess Cyanogenmod will build it from the source

Sorry but why do you think so? This is not sooo extra ordinary... If you don't have such hardware you could also put the build to the cloud. Also these are recommendations! You can also build on lower resources it just takes longer
longer then 5 hours? wow xD

Well, mine compiles ginger bread too, but recommended was lot lower... anyways... its gonna be okay
Then, can we expect ICS within the next week? You're the only one i'm looking up to, you have the most experience in AOSP

that's the ICS port's name that cannot be spoken about here
it's like Sauron's ROM or something
I wont post a link to the page, but looking at Kmobs Google+, he posted a few pictures comparing his Sensation and Galaxy Nexus.
-In one picture he shows the 'about phone' screen on both phones. On Sensation, it looks like there is a color gradient, however its hard to tell. So MAYBE they have hardware acceleration working.
-Also if you read the 'mod version' it says CyanogenMod-9.0.0-RC0-Sensation-KANG. I'm a noob and Im not sure if the mod version will tell anything, but it says RC0 so maybe its Release Candidate status?
-One last thing I noticed is he has the same widget running when he compares homescreen, so he is kind or mirroring the two, but the Galaxy Nexus has the camera shortcut on the homescreen and Sensation does not. Not sure if that means its not working on Sensation, or if he just didnt put it there
Mods: if I posted anything I shouldnt have, please feel free to delete the post and contact me. Im familiar to the rules for the most part.

lol. should compare date released and prices for devices. the longer the date the device was released and the cheaper price it is, it should have many devs and support for it. as our devices is quite new (not that new lol) but its like a decisive thing for devs really, if they want to get the sensation and create ports there or just go to the newest device there is on the market. but needless to say, we have plenty of devs here. its just a matter of enjoying whats there and being patient. so, stay on and relax

It seems like developement for the Sensation is slowly dying.Looks like all the good devs have jumped ship to newer phones It's kinda depressing since the phone is only 6 months old.I wish i could afford to buy a new phone every 6 months.

We have a good collection of roms though, and we will be getting ICS regardless from HTC. I don't mind if devs jump ship.
Yeah, TripNiCE ROM is now Alpha 7.5, quite perfect and very stable.

I think it is, many italian blogs have spoken about it
I am pretty happy to read this. Though I am quite sure this is not reliable, but if it is, then good for HTC. They're finally doing what they should have done, with unlockable bootloaders and updates. That profit drop was an eye opener for them.
I am even more excited about the other part, the Sensation family getting updated in February. This seems true, and it means that Sensation XL will be updated in less than a month and we'll have a port by march It'll help till the official update (if there is any)
PS - Congrats, you have created the future most popular thread in this section. This'll have so many pages by April, that you'll go crazy reading them

How about the RCMix blog?
http://rcmix3d.blogspot.com/2012/02/breaking-ice-cream-sandwich-for-more.html
If this turns out to be reliable then I'll have to take back what I said about HTC! Really hope this turns out to be true. Not so much for the ROM, we'll have decent ports of that soon anyway, but it will be nice to have official kernel and source.
+1
Kernel 3.0 would be a boon to AOSP ROMs too. HTC has been releasing kernel source codes regularly now, so if an update comes (and boy do i hope it does) you can expect ICS (especially Hardware Acceleration) to get a lot better.
Oh, and it will most probably be Sense 3.5 or 3.6, not 4.0 but no need to fret, with kernel source, Sense 4.0 port should be a piece of cake for our devs

Help me replace my HD2

Hey guys
I'm kind of out of the smartphone loop. A couple years ago I had a HD2 and it was a beaufitul thing, mainly due to the amount of different things you could do with it. However about 7 months ago the touch screen stopped responding and so its not just a beautiful paper weight. For a while my friend leant me her old desire which worked nicely for me with a custom rom. However she had to take it back and now im stuck with my old SE z530i...
So basically im looking for something equivalent to the HD2 in terms of its abilities and what not, I do like high spec phones but Im not willing to go as far as the £500 I spent on my HD2. Is there a phone out atm between the levels of a desire and a Hd2? Whats the galaxy nexus turned out to be like?
Cheers!
BUMP
Good luck with that.....The HD2 is probably the most developed phone out there. You can always just replace the screen? I have heard it is pretty easy.
Just hold out for the SGSIII, it will be out this month. Of course it is not as highly developed but at least it can see when you look at it.....
Oh, and Bumping is prohibited. If someone wants to answer you, they will.

There seem to be enough devs, but we still don't have S-OFF. not many are looking into this prob..
we still need to flash the "boot.img" kernel via the PC, with phone in fastboot mode..
this, everytime when we change to a ROM with a different base.
but we have a working CM9 ROM now, I'm very happy with it.. I can't stand sense >.< and most ROMs are just stripped down sense ROMs, or modified ones
but maybe i'm just too spoiled from the time with my HD2.. >.<

like i said, the device itself is amazing, only bad point is that you can't exchange the battery, and it doesn't have a SDCard slot.
Besides this, develpment is slow, but i'm satisfied now, that we have a really good working unoficial cm9 ROM.
Theres even an AOKP ROM now, wich i want to try soon

So a while ago, there was a post talking about whether anyone was interested in MIUI for the HTC One (M8). (this one). I was wondering if anyone has heard any more news on whether MIUI will be coming to this awesome phone any time soon. I can't even imagine the epicness that would come out of it...
That thread is for the M7, not M8. That said, I have no idea if anybody's working on it or not. Haven't heard a thing. Would be nice if we did get it though.

Since I was the primary MIUI maintainer for Sprint Evo 3D and M7 (and have since moved to VZW M8), let me address this somewhat old question.
I will be doing a port to VZW just as soon as Xiaomi releases an international M8 ROM. I've been watching their release news somewhat regularly, but haven't seen anything just yet. In fact, I stumbled across this thread searching for possible other releases. Either way, I've got lots of practice porting to VZW M8 from Intl. version via my GPE port, so it's literally just a matter of waiting on Xiaomi.
As far as the comment about MIUI having a large number of bugs...not sure where you're getting your info from, but that's dead wrong. IMHO, MIUI is by far the best ROM I've every used.

Thank you! You have no idea how excited I am. I know how much blood, sweat, tears, and frustration goes into even writing basic code. I have no idea how hard it is to port a ROM, but I appreciate that there are awesome people like you out there that do it.
Any progress update? I've been waiting for a miui rom for a long time. So excited. Thanks!
