Here's the deal....
I have a friend with an XYBoard who wants help rooting it and installing a custom ROM if there are any available. I've searched google and XDA for XYBoard ROMs and haven't found anything. I read in a few threads here that the Xoom 2 and XYBoard are variations of the same tablet/system/whatever. Can someone clarify this for me? Are Xoom 2 ROMs and root methods compatible with the XYBoard? His tablet is the 10.1in with Android 4.0.4 if that helps.

They're the same. Some just refuse to call it the XYboard but the XYboard was the Xoom successor and there for Xoom 2.
the two are the same thing and unfortunately has blocked bootloader ...

Hi! I am thinking of buying Xoom wifi and it would be a canadian model.
When I want to update, can I use the US model roms to update the xoom or no? For example, would love to update the xoom to 3.2.2 and then root it.

Yes, it's the exact same model. There's a few guides around to tell you how to do this.

Ok guys. been reading some post but would like to be pointed on the right direction. Just bought a droid 2 for media player use. want to root it. Already have a Galaxy S3 as a phone. So, I skipped the activation screen since I'm not going to activate it.

thanks. Was success. Now, one last question. Does saw 2 sections of developments. Droid 2 and Droid 2 Global. I know my version is global, but not too many ROMS there... does Roms from Droid 2 works on Droid 2 Global?

i own a motorola razr hd (dev edition) purchased directly from moto. its not droid (verizon) branded
i want to root it but i cant find any info for rooting a non-droid razr hd
does it make a difference? will i ruin my phone if i root with droid root?
if i can use the droid root with no ill effect i would be grateful to know for sure,if not, i would appreciate links to the needed pages.

I have XT925 International Version of Razr HD and I rooted using motochopper. It worked. You can find info here in XDA.

Are you planning on running stock recovery? OUDHS rooted for me after I flashed it... wasn't going to bother with stock at all but when I went in to make a nandroid it detected no root & prompted to see if I'd like to root, after which I made a titanium backup as well before cracking into some ROM's - worked like a charm. I assume CWM/TWRP does something similar. Rogers/Fido XT925.

Hello! I bought XT925 just a few days ago. It had JB 4.1.2 out of the box. I tried to root it for a few times without a sucess using several different methods found on the internet. Then I was sucessful with ˝motochopper¨ ! This is, as far as I know, only method to root XT925 with JB 4.1.2. On other android versions everything will work but on JB 4.1.2 XT925 only motochopper works. Phone works great after the root. Don't worry about using this on your device... Google out ˝motochopper.zip¨ Good luck

I have rooted my Verizon Wireless Motorola Droid Xyboard 10.1 MZ617 codename pasteur running 98.8.127.MZ617.Verizon.en.US Jelly Bean Android Version 4.1.2 , I have successfully been able to get bootstrap with CWM installed and working as well as Safestrap 3.12 :fingers-crossed:
But I can't seem to find any ROMs. A few questions I have.
A)anyone have names or links to ROMs I can flash?
B)How about a ZIP flashable ICS leak? Can someone make one plz?
C)BigPart.... Is my understanding an unlocked bootloader is required for this?
D)what if any cross compatible builds are there ? Like can I run a WiFi only ROM for the Motorola XOOM 2 MZ615 ? Or the CDMA 3G MZ608? Or will Xoom 1 Stingray ROMs MZ602/MZ604 work?
