[Q] Have you tried these lens - Galaxy S 4 Accessories

Today I was looking at some stuff at ebay and found these lens. And I was wondering if somebody have already tried them and have some opinion on them.

They look pretty cool

That seems pretty interesting!

Interesting! Subscribed! Hopefully, someone gets his first so i can acquire feedbacks/ reviews/ raves/ what nots... :good:

I found this also on Amazon. Had one review and it was a 5 star review saying it worked good. It is not that expensive, might give it a try.

I bought one similar. Only had wide angle and macro lens, best £8 I've spent, wide angle is brilliant, macro is awesome for those super close up shots, I took a picture of a coin and it got every grove and detail crystal clear, holding phone 2-3cms away from item

I looked at them also, but I have a Canon 7D and a Samsung NX series so I've been reluctant.
If I don't want to take the Samsung, then the GS4 is probably okay.
THose lenses are just one more thing to lug around.

Self portrait mirror for camera

I know there's iseeu and isnapme for self portrait mirror, but is there another kind most suitable for i500? Onemoreface design seems nice and practical, but its nowhere on sale...
If you're looking for an app that will utilize the front facing camera to take your picture its really simple!
The fascinate doesn't have a front facing camera.
Simple as that. =/
Self portrait mirror is two mirrors reflecting the front screen image to the back camera...of course I know fascinate doesn't have ffc. Try searching for isnapme or iseeu
Fair enough.
It seems as stated on the ISnapMe facebook page they are looking for/hoping people will test other phones with their product. Since it is just suction cups and only $19 with free shipping I bet you could get it to work. It works with the driod X and other are having success with other phones (driod 2 and such)

Isnapme has fixed joint mirrors so it doesn't look very practical; Iseeu has adjustable angles but its height is fixed for iphones, so the measurements are not suitable for fascinate.
I think I'll try making one myself...likely to fail but it doesnt hurt me even if it does

I asked Isnapme on FB and they responded saying (very quickly) that it doesnt work for the fasc.

In theory it does partially, but because the angle is fixed for iphone the image will be slightly out of focus with fascinate

[Q] camera issues?

What's up with the camera? it seems pretty crappy compared to the Droid Incredible that I just replaced. It doesn't seem to rotate when you take a landscape as opposed to vertical orientation. Uploading pics to the by text keeps the picture in the wrong orientation. I'm hoping the camera gets an overhaul at some point.
I Donno about all that. I just think it takes crappy photos. Side by side comparison of the Thunderbolt, Continuum, and the DX, show its image quality is worse than all of them... by far. That's indoor, outdoor, resolution and white balance.
Its the worse camera on a phone I've owned since my OG Droid. Even if memory serves me right, my BB Tour had much better image quality.
I can upload some cropped comparison photos of the aforementioned phones if there's intrest.

Very odd complaints considering that every single professional review i've seen talks about the camera being one of the best, if not *the* best they've seen on a phone. Mine comes today, will be curious to see how I do in this dept...the camera quality was one of the things that sold me on it.
I've found the pictures taken with my Charge to be on par with my old Incredible--which is to say, very good.

The picture quality on mine is better than my HTC Incredible and it had a awesome camera compared to the competition!
Video quality on the Charge is also better than my HTC Incredible, it's smoother and the image quality is superb!
Only annoyance is the case design allows easy fingerprints on the camera lens that I frequently clean off with a microfiber cloth to keep it from messing up pictures or video.
*If your camera isn't taking good pictures, clean the lens with a microfiber cloth.
**Also to note, the El' cleapo supplied Class 2 SD card is too slow to take good quality HD video. I changed mine out for a Class 10 card and it's silky smooth and fast.

Are you still within the time frame to exchange? I took some shots with mine today when I got it and they came out just as good as the reviews promised. Easily the clearest and cleanest pics i've gotten from a phone, ever. There has to be something going on with yours. Even a warranty exchange might be worth it.
+1 on camera being great. Worlds better than my thunderbolt. The incredible had an awesome camera as well.

I think the quality of the pictures is good. It's just the camera software I think that sucks.. Just seems to be clunky and hard to take a good picture. The Dinc was just easier all I was sayin.. Is there a setting or something that will auto rotate the screen when switching from portrait to landscape? I'm going to just buy a cannon rebel for good pics, but this is handy when backpacking or something you know..

G2x vs iPhone 4 Camera test.

Hey guys, just wanted to add my drop to the bucket on the camera discussion.. in this album are 2 pics from iPhone 4 and 2 from the g2x, one indoor and one outdoor each. Now, to me, the iPhone 4 is.. by a wide margin.. better. The g2x images are washed out and kinda caca IMO.
https://picasaweb.google.com/outland.jim/G2xVsIp4?authuser=0&feat=directlink
I think it would be better if you could take pictures of the same thing\item or scene with both phones, all 4 pictures are completely different .
Thanks for sharing though.
And the point is? [Looks like someone was upset in the third pic.]
One of the problems with the G2x camera is the glass over the lens. It needs to be cleaned each and everytime you take a pic.
I completely removed the glass cover kinda makes the phone look, well... ugly lol. But the pics outside or w/flash look so much better... any idea on how to remove the little center glass piece would be great!!!!

Add a LED Flash to your Galaxy S!

Hi my name is Stefano and I have a Galaxy S I9001. I know our smartphone is a little obsolete, but with the new jellybean-based ROM for me is still a great device. so I've build a cover with a built-in LED Flash for it, and I'm trying to reach the goal to give interested people the possibility to take pictures in low light conditions...
here is the link for Indiegogo's Campaign with all the details: http://igg.me/p/278277/x/1711899
I can produce it only if i reach 1000 items...

Okay this is just heart breaking. If only you have come up with this'd product sooner. I an planning to replace my phone with a nexus 4 whenever it becomes available in Hong Kong. So by the time your cover arrived I would probably have a new phone already. But good luck with your project.

very good project, it'll be very usefull, hope it'll come out soon and successfully.
i've been awaiting for such a product for long, make it fast.
I have bought one. This is awesome

How does it work?
See the campaign page for more details... COVERLIGHT is a galaxy S back cover with a built-in LED Flash. Just replace the original back cover with coverlight and you can use your new LED flash to take pictures and videos even in low-light condition

Really nice accessory, but not available in my country :/
Those are some cool-looking covers right there, great concept.
I'm curious though, why didn't you place the LED next to the power-button? The SD-card inserton slot is almost 1mm deep and would make the LED lamp significantly less protruding from the cover.

Hi, what does it means "not available in your country"? Are you talking about COVERLIGHT or the Smartphone Model?

Hi, the 1mm deep is used for 2 resistors and 1 transistor (it's not just a LED connected with 2 wires )... no more space there
Ah, I didn't notice how the space was already used up c:
Looks very promising!
I hope i can buy one in holland or order one somewhere..
Good luck mate!

Very nice concept.
Just one question though
Do I have to press the button above the speaker each time I take a picture or video?
or is it taken care of from the camera itself (auto flash)?

Yes, when you are taking a picture just press the button and the LED will light up. we can't control it by the phone
Why don't you connect to it by bluetooth, so it can flash just when you take a picture? Bluetooth chip is real small and it doesn't need that much wiring... just an idea

Uhm... sounds interesting... I don't know how small is it. I'll check (but I don't think we have enough space for it).
But...Is it a feature that COVERLIGHT need to have? I designed it like a "simple" project... Let's talk about it

Clip-on camera lenses

Anybody found a set of clip-on camera lenses that actually works with this phone? I've tried a few but each one seems to be too small (the image with the clip-on is circular with black all around it). I guess this phone has a better lens on it than most cell phones usually do?
Anyway if anybody has found a set that works I'd love to know.
This type of set is what I'm talking about, just fyi (I haven't tried this particular one, just a few I've found in stores)

Edit: Wow I actually just found a lens set (also from Aukey) that actually has them using it with a Moto X PE / Style in one of the product pictures so that's probably a safe bet that it'll work lol
