Hi there,
I got a ZTE v970 about a week ago. Because the phone had Baidu only, a friend installed Android version 4.1.2 MIUI version 3.2.22 for me.
My phone will not connect to data. I have no problem connecting it to wifi. When I turn wifi off, it won't connect (doesn't receive mail, whatsapp messages, surf the internet, etc.). I also can't find 3G or roaming options.
I have checked the following, and also read up a LOT on the subject:
-My data settings are correct.
-Have spoken to my carrier - everything is connected, and has no reason not to work.
-The data programme works on my other phone.
-On toggle options (pull-down menu on the home-page), data is activated.
-ALL the forums, links, and videos, etc. on the net for turning data roaming on or off, apply to other OS versions of this phone. I say this with certainty because the settings menu is different. I have no data roaming option on the menu, nor any roaming settings!!
I have the following options within settings ---> mobile networks --->
-Data connection. Clicking on that allows me to click on my sim, or switch it off. No further options once you click on the sim.
-Network mode. Gives you option of GSM/WCDMA; WCDMA only; GSM only. I selected GSM/WCDMA.
-Preferred networks. My carrier is at the top of the list.
-Access point names. General apn has my carrier settings. MMS has my carrier settings. Both have been certified correct by my carrier
-Network operators ---> Gives option of manually; automatically. Mine is set to automatically.
-Mobile data service preferred. Off
Any ideas? PLEASE help! I love this ROM, but I may have to downgrade it to enable data package settings, but of course I'll be exchanging it for a series of other bugs!
Thanks in advance!

I've searched and can't find a thread with stuff helpful to me. I would like a radio that will allow me to use 2G network. I live in rural Alaska and we have some crappy networks. I know it would probably work with factory settings, but I'd like to keep my phones custom rom Honeysense 6.2.2. I have been trying to make it work on the apn settings given to me by my provider but haven't succeeded. If someone out there has a solution please help.

You can use an app from the market to do it once you are rooted

Use Network. Towards the bottom, change the option to GSM Only.
1. "Sorry to ask but Radio help please" <-- Don't be sorry to ask. No one is going to flame u if ur efforts were genuine in searching first.
2. For ur question:
a. [User input] Go to wireless settings, and select 2G network
[System Action] This will turn off data, and re-enable it, but high chances (for me, its "always") still be on 3G/H
b. [User input] Go to network selection mode, and select manual
[System Action]This will present u with a list of networks to select (only one if u r on AT&T)
c. [User input] Select the network (AT&T if u r on AT&T)
This should now put the phone on 2G/EDGE network.
Warning: Since u r forcing this, there could be some patches (like when on certain areas when on road, etc) where u cud face loss of signal.

Using this app (this app is just a shortcut to the options in *#*#4636#*#*) many a times caused me a Phone process FC in an infinite loop (most recent one was y'day). The FC loop sometimes wasn't instantaneous, and started after ending a call and when the phone tried to get back to EDGE network.
Only way out was restoring from my previous nandroid backup. So I would be cautions.
I managed to install CM10 on my tipo but now I have no network to make or receive calls or texts and i can't seem to find out where i can choose my network.
When I go to settings>wireless and networks>more> it gives me the options of Airplane mode, VPN, Tethering & portable hotspot, and mobile networks. Clicking on mobile networks gives me data enabled (on or off), data roaming (on or off), national data roaming (on or off), and system select (home only and automatic)
Can anyone help please?
Thank you

I ticked on airplane mode, then ticked it off again and the type PIN code for the SIM appeared so I entered my PIN and in the wireless and network settings area, the airplane mode has disappeared, but added to the list is Access Point Names, Use only 2G networks (on or off), and Network Operators. When I select Network Operators, the phone searched for networks and returns with four Unknown networks and choose automatically which I did. I seem to have a signal now but I don't know if its on my network or how it is working (I'm on Three) as there is no indication as to what network I am on. I've rebooted and tried again but its still the same

Delzep - are you using tipo single or dual sim?
JL93 were you on stock jb before flashing cm10 Rom? You must be on ics, then flash cm10 Rom. Try flashing ics ftf now.

Hi everyone. My phone is an old Samsung Galaxy Ace running CyanogenMOD 7. In order to send and receive mms, I have to texting something to my carrier's designated number for acquiring mms settings. My carrier would then send the settings to my phone within 24 hours, and I would be able to send and receive mms messages. I've tried several times but haven't received the settings yet.
Is it because I'm running a custom ROM instead of a stock ROM?
Thanks guys.
could be, which rom are you using.
btw: mms is old anyway... use whatsapp

Hi. I'm using official CyanogenMOD 7 for my Galaxy Ace.
well i'd experienced this kind of problem earlier , you just need to do it manually :
1) Open settings , take a look at APN under mobile networks (there must be blank)
2) Use google to search for your provider's APN settings (example : android airtel internet and mms APN settings)
3) Fill it up in the APN settings then SAVE !!
4) Switch it on (there's a button on the right)
5) Turn on your mobile data
walla , you got internet access and mms working on top of your service provider
thanks
I have just purchased a new SIM for a better 3G experience. I live in Nagpur Maharashtra India. When I switch on the internet data connection of TATA DOCOMO SIM all my VODAFONE incoming calls get blocked(i.e. it says Out of Coverage area)!! And same happens vice-versa when I switch ON my VODAOFONE internet data connection. I want to use both my SIM cards for receiving calls. And I wanna use 3G too!!
I found one answer on this website itself and it said, "Go in data settings and see what is data transfer prefer mode.... Change it to data transfer " I did not found this option anywhere in the settings.... Please help with a precise step by step Answer.. Tired of searching I found nothing!!! Please Help!!

Hi,
When I am on 3g network no websites open on dolphin and stock browser but on Wi-Fi I don't face this problem. I can access whatsapp, play store and all apps that access the internet on 3g and Wi-Fi. Please guide the solution. I am using Samsung Galaxy S Advance GT-I9070 gingerbread.
May be u would have enabled the ' use only 2g' option in the settings menu.....

In connection type I have tried auto and WCDMA only. Even if it was GSM only (2g) than would that block websites on browser and allow other apps to access the internet?
Try rebooting your phone or ask for network settings from the carrier network
Hit thanks if I helpes you
Try going to your about phone settings, and updating PRL and Profile, it may solve your issue.
An alternative option if you have a recovery available, is to flash your radio/modem. I had terrible 3g connection issues, and that solved it for me.
I found the solution. The proxy setting sent by the service provider was 0.0.0.0 and port 0.Changed both to blank and it worked
