You can move all your apps to your SD card when your phone is rooted but remember some apps will crash or don't work when placed in SD card.

Yes my device is rooted.
I hv installed Root all to SD but it's showing Storage is not mounted. I have clicked on Mount but still it's the same.
I think this app will allow data to move in SD card.
Please HELP...!
use titanium backup for moving apps.
your phone must be rooted for it
I reply here because I spent a lot of time searching through very old posts and trying outdated methods. I didn't know that actually today there is a very easy solution to move whatsapp media folder to SD card. It perfectly worked on my Samsung Galaxy A3 A320FL:
1) Root (I used twrp + magisk method)
2) Download "App2SD" (the original by Vicky Bonick; it's free) and follow instructions on how to create partitions
3) Use "folder mount (app analyzer)" feature, which apparently was not considered in the old posts in this forum, so I suppose it was recently added to App2SD.
It's like folder mount, but it's pre-set for some common apps, including Whatsapp. With this feature, you can successfully move Whatsapp media folder to SD, in one clic.
In my case everything worked fine. When I reboot I have to re-mount folder, but it takes one second (just open Apps2SD, tap Folder Mount, slide "whatsapp other").

Hi Friends,
I'm new to forum and bought new Galaxy R.
The partition in phone is divided into 3
1. phone memory 1.9 gb
2. USB storage 3.7 gb
3. My SD card 7.4 gb
Now the problem is I have download games and my USB storage is full.
I also I tried copying to SD card and playing it. but didn't work.
Since, This is my new phone I don't wanna root at early level since the company warranty is void if it is rooted as I have heard from friends.
I need help to copy into SD card and play without rooting
or atleast my game recognise the path of sd card where i have transferred.
I have seen previous post and tried many soft like apps2sd, etc.. nothing worked.
any alt solutions to copy in SD and play without rooting...
Thanks in advance..
Also when I try to transfer the files to SD Card using manager or other soft's but failed.
For example: Like I tried moving Gameloft Real football 2012 to SD Card. It only copies some 10 or 12 mb file which we download from market not the full files which we download later (i.e approx 400 mb)..

Thanks bro.. It is pretty hard to get this stuff solved..
Also, I tried the application for Mount.. even these app needs rooting.. God knows what to do...
Hi Friends,
I found some important stuff regarding the USB Storage & SD card..
This is for "Non-rooted" mobile phones.
I installed ES file explorer & X-plore and also few other apps.. This is to check how arrangement of file system are in the phone.
Now what i absorbed is, In the display of phone memory it shows 1.9gb and for SD Card memory it shows 4.9gb which is USB storage not the one which I have installed 8gb SD Card.
So its like this..
" /mnt/sdcard " This is for USB 4gb space (Non extendable)
" /mnt/sdcard/external_sd/ " This is for my 8gb sd card (Extendable)
Hence, when ever any App wants to download additional data it goes to USB Storage (I.e /mnt/sdcard ) not to SD 8gb expandable storage card.
I want to configure or use the command to make the application to choose default location as " /mnt/sdcard/external_sd/ " to save in my extendable memory card without rooting.
IS THIS POSSIBLE... Please do let me know from the experts...
THANK YOU..
From what i have seen , u need a shadow copy or u need to bind the folders in some way, which requires root... I see no other way...

Thank you for reply. I have rooted my machine already and trying this right now. But would like to know that except this method. Any method could save data (i.e. photos, installed app and media) to external SD card freely? Just like using of App 2 SD. And then, any method to get the right of permission to beyond read only mode and setting of android system? I would like to fix this problem completely and let it return to S II mode. Anyway thank you very much

Well Folder Mount isn't free.
And Apps to SD didn't work for me. Neither did Link 2 Sd work until I created a partition on my SD card (later I removed the partition as I didn't want to spoil my new card and its performance).
You can install apps on internal and then later on move it freely to SD card. It would move all data folder.
I'm doing this and I have rooted phone with stock rom.

Well tap on the (+) button and you will have a window asking for
1. Folder name to be kept.
2. files to be moved.
3.where the files should be.
Select the following and press mount. It will start moving files and then mount.
Hello everyone. I recently underwent a forced upgrade to an LG Optimus F3 after my Kyocera Rise almost started a house fire. I am trying to get all my apps on the thing and everything has gone smoothly. However when I tried to install FIFA 14, which is a large app, I receive an error message.

Things that may be ****ing stuff up:
-I literally took the SD card straight from the other phone and put it in this one.
-I have been installing a lot of stuff today.
-I don't really know what else.

I thought the problem might be coming from the fact that the SD card was used in another phone. So I used the Erase all Data option in Settings > Storage, but the problem persists.

Well, it shows my SD cards under Settings > Storage, but I'm not seeing an option to move apps to SD on the app menus.
I also hard reset my device, but apparently the problem still persists. When I get home imma try the other SD card and see if there's a change.
No change with the other SD card, so it must be a phone error. Any ideas?

Yes, I just rooted my phone. However, the problem persists, and I still don't have the option to move apps to SD card. I'm not sure what you're getting at in the second sentence though, sorry.
Okay what I mean by the second sentence is that Aparted is available for pc and as apk for android, which one did you use??? And when you partitioned the sd card what format did you use NTFS, FAT32, FAT16 etc.... and also did you wipe the sd prior to formatting it???

I used the android one, a fat32 format, and yes.
Okay, basically what I think is going on is that my phone just doesn't support apps on SD card. Something about the way my filesystem emulates an SD card or something, so it's not a capability I can just unlock from the phone. Anyway, I've been able to sort of work around the problem by using link2SD with an aparted partition, which looks like it's working perfectly, as far as it goes. If anyone else runs into a problem like this and finds a better solution please let me know!
Thanks for all the suggestions.

The

Yes mini partition is best option for making partition...
But u can also use link2sd without second partition...
But if you don't use second partition.. Then only little problem occurs..
That the apps u linked to sdcard card becomes unavailable when u connect ur device to pc.. Because sd card mounted on pc...
This can be overcome by using second partition....
But I think its not a big problem...
One thing you can also make partition using ur recovery..

Go to recovery > Choose advance option... > Sd partition..
Then select partition size which suits your needs...

Great, i will try that man. Do partitioning sd card via recovery deletes all files of it? Thats why i need to backup it first?

It's August 2015 and here's my case and I have already been through the threads and confirmed that none of them could answer my question.
I hope some android developers could really help me out.
What happened: I deleted the .android_secure folder (what a mistake!!!)
Noted that ".android_secure stores encrypted versions of the apps moved to external SD card. You'll have probably to reinstall some apps" - by a member of xda
Before I introduce you to my phone's problem, here's the background:
1. my phone model: HTC ONE XL
2. rooted, running clean ROM, android 4.0.1
3. I have many of my apps moved to the SD card(internal storage) before the deletion
4. I notice that whenever I move an app to the SD card(internal storage), I would have some (BUT NOT ALL) mass of the app moved. ie. some mass of the app will still stay in phone storage
5. I have some apps in my launcher as "shortcuts" before the deletion
Here's the situation after the deletion:
1. The "shortcuts" are still on my launcher, showing their icons normally but when I click on them, a toast shows "application not installed"
2. I checked my phone storage and found that there's no change in the space occupied by apps. That means the phone storage part of the mass of the apps are still there.
CONCLUSION: although I have deleted the .android_secure folder, the apps that I have moved to the SD card have their remains in the phone storage occupying space and that is totally troll and useless because I cannot use the app with only its remains.
3. The apps that had been moved to the SD card previously no longer exist in the app drawer after the deletion
WHAT I TRIED: I reinstalled the apps with only their remains in the phone storage in order to use the apps again but the newly installed one did not overwrite the old data, so now my phone's phone storage has both
1. old app remains (some parts of mass of the apps), which is totally junk *old app=new app
2. new app mass
My question: How can I identify/remove the old app remains?
I sincerely hope that some android experts could help with my problem thanks

Nope, because what I am looking for is a solution WITHOUT factory reset.
its /SDCard/.android_secure
Its not a folder its a file.
In my samsung galaxy core 2 i moves some apps to external storege and some n intermal storage then too .android_secure appeared on external sd card and is of 0.00 bytes.
I deleted that file but my device is workimg properly

You're wrong, ".android_secure" is definitely a folder, which contains lots of .asec files
Hmm it could be a matter of android version.

Uninstall those apps and do a reboot and after reboot install these apps again. I tried this on my device and it worked.
It should also work on your device
Listen Carefully Senior
He can't uninstall the apps because the apps are from his friend's phone, who rented his micro sd card and backed up his apps to it. Soo What he's trying to say is. "What you did was store the app to your micro sd card and then store it back to your phone." SIMPLE RIGHT?
But since that is the same phone the file or folder (.android_secure) has been removed by default because theres no need to protect an app that isn't there any more. SO WHATS THE PROBLEM?
His friend, the guy who rented the micro sd card, has moved his apps from his phone to the micro sd card and then gave it back to this idiot GphonePrince. SO HERE'S THE BIG DIFFERENCE droid_god.
droid_god
Your phone removed the .android_secure file from your external storage because your phone recognizes what was writen to it. Your phone wrote it in the first place. It happens when you move any app to your external_storage.
GphonePrince
Your phone cannot remove .android_secure folder because your phone cannot recognize what apps your buddy moved to your micro sd card. Your phone is not the owner of the apps stored to the micro sd card.
SO WHAT'S HAPPENING IS
Your phones saying, "whats this ****?"
Your micro sd card is saying, "bro don't touch that, someone forgot it and I'm going to keep it safe until they pick it up you can't just take it."
Your phone agrees with your micro sd card and now your hoping for a little miracle from the xda team
if this is correct let us know so we can get you started on renting sd cards out forever
