I think you will need to manually install the bluetooth drivers for your PC. for example, If you're using a Dell one, search "Bluetooth drivers for Dell windows 7 64 bit" and get it.

Surprisingly my iMac needs SOMETHING. Normally what you say is absolutely true, but...
My Captivate and Skyrocket both have USB ADB connection issues on the Mac. I have a Droid2 and it works fine, but connecting the Captivate gives me a LOGCAT of about 1 page, then it disconnects. The Skyrocket NEVER connects.
Tried it on another identical iMac and SAME RESULTS so it's a hardware / Apple configuration issue. Go figure!
I'm searching the forums for some additional information but so far no luck!

If that doesn't fix it, there are some more options available in the "Captivate Connection Issues" thread.

Try HTC sync. The drivers included may be updated or just work as is.

Okay, I tried the HTC Driver files from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1604677
and all I get is an error saying that these files do not work for Windows 8. I also tried HTC Sync and my computer will still not recognize my device in fastboot mode. I ran out of options.
Can anyone help? Fastboot drivers for Windows 8. Thanks!
Never mind I guess?
It turns out that none of the HTC drivers work with my USB 3.0 drivers on Windows 8. I did a little test and noticed it DOES work with traditional USB 2.0 drivers. Very odd. Never the less, there is no documentation on the internet about issues with Windows 8 and USB 3.0 and HTC Drivers; well, now, there is...
So were you able to solve the problem and if so how, thanks!

Be sensible and go back to windows 7
This problem is only going to get worse... Almost all new computers are shipping with Windows 8 and more likely than not, they will stop shipping additional USB 2 ports and only ship with USB3 ports like mine...
Then what?

Or get HTC or Google (or both) to fix the issue with the driver/fastboot.

I want to flash a newer OS on my Infuse. It currently has 2.2.1 None of my computers detects the phone being plugged in to it. Is there any way around this?
You need to install the usb drivers, you can search for them here on XDA or you can go to the Samsung support website.

Already have drivers
I already have the drivers installed on all my computers. It works great with my Galaxy S2. Absolutely nothing happens when I plug my Infuse into a computer other than I get a menu on the phone asking what mode to go into. The computers see nothing.
It see no device in the device manager?

I have the same problem with any generic cables. Only the OEM cables seem to work for anything other than charging - I've used both old blackberry and samsung cables.
