Hi All,
Inspired by "Spy Cam OS" by jimmod (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1934513&highlight=spy+cam+os), I made an application (Watchout) that allows us to see and capture through a real time camera preview while we're on mobile activity. It's a camera preview on top of other application, so we're able to do our mobile activity (such as browsing, chatting, etc) and see/capture what is in front of us at the same time.
Tested only on Galaxy Nexus and Galaxy S4 so far, really appreciate if you can test on your device and give feedback here or at the market.
Google Play:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.blegos.watchout
Youtube:
v.1.1
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IP2Dq70D3NY
Features:
* Camera preview on top of other application
* Tap and capture image
* Zoom in/out
Important Note:
* Please be aware, it's dangerous doing your mobile activity while driving
* Don't text and drive
Update:
v.1.2.2
* Fix multilevel directory for image capture path
* Fix bugs
v.1.2.0
* Add gesture action selection (single tap, double tap & long press)
* Smooth zoom (supported device)
v.1.1.2
* Fix camera preview orientation (portrait & landscape support)
v.1.1.1
* Fix bugs
* Force screen to portrait
v.1.1
* Fix bugs
* Add zoom capability & shortcut
Thanks
One fine app. Thanks
thx this is a very good app..
a few suggestions..
(1) the zoom in/out function is a bit hard to use.. need to drag the frame left/right multiple times to do zoomings..
(2) allow to resize the frame on screen (instead of setting it in settings)..
(3) double-tap (or other gesture that fits) to close the app.. i found it sometimes hard to drag the frame to the correct spot to close it (or to enter settings, or to zoom in/out).. my own finger hinders my view whether im on the icon or not..
maybe swipe up for settings, swipe down to close, swipe left/right to zoom, tag to capture, double-tap to resize & drag to move frame?
btw, it works fine in my nexus 4 stock 4.3 rom rooted..
Thanks for the app! Looks way better than other ones i've used.
Works perfect on my Samsung Galaxy S3 running S4 Revolution v7.0 (Android 4.2.2)

i see this box and i change it by camera folder like /storage/sdcard/dcim but nothing happen.
thx.. v1.2 is good..
two issues noted:
(1) having set double-tap action to close app, when double-tapped, the app force closed
(2) having set long-press acton to open settings (and zoom buttons set to show), when long-pressed, the 2 zoom buttons stayed on screen.. they wouldnt go away in the settings screen, in normal screen, and even when the app was closed.. they only went away when i removed the app from app list..

regarding the above two issues, (1) is fixed..
the behaviour of (2) now becomes "no response", i.e., setting long-press action does not have any effect..
i have set it to "settings" and "zoom in", and both times there was no response when i long-pressed the watchout window..

My changes have been merged into CM7!
I'm starting this thread to test out modifications
This is for CyanogenMod 7, I offer no help getting this to work on anything else.
This version is an update to the ADW.Launcher that already in installed on CM7 so you will keep all your existing settings.
You can also uninstall this version at any time and ADW.Launcher will revert back to the original ADW.Launcher.
As always with these kinds of things, I am not responsible if something goes wrong, so use at your own risk.
Source is now on github and can be viewed here!
My first focus is on application management such as groups/catalogs
0.1.1 Eye Candy Release
Added:
* Backup/Restore of desktop data now also saves categories
* Screen transitions just because I like them and it can get tiresome working of usability stuff.
0.1.0 (Merged into CM7)
Added:
* If no categories, not title shows in the drawer (CM7 requirement so users who don't use categories don't see a change)
* Option to turn off the title in the drawer even if you have categories.
0.0.9
Fixed:
* Better drawer switching on swipe
0.0.8
Added:
* UNCATEGORIZED group now hides when empty
* In preparation to submit to CM7, I have added an option to enable the UNGROUPED group. Disabling the option will revert to the old way of showing the ALL group and does not show the UNCATEGORIZED group.
Changed:
* Renamed UNGROUPED to UNCATEGORIZED
0.0.7
Added:
* Application Info and Market support for Live Folders* Restore icon menu option when changing an icon
Fixed:
* Swipe on empty UNGROUPED folder fixed
0.0.6 (w/Drawer to home screen drag FC fixed)
Changed:
* Editing a user folder now lets you set a custom icon. Not being able to set an icon on a custom folder makes them less attractive for use since I can't visually label it.
Fixed:
* Fixed a drawing issue when opening the vertical drawer that causes the icons to jump
0.0.5
Changed:
* Swipe to change groups in the drawer. Up/down swipes are used for in the Horizontal pagination drawer and left/right swipes are used in the Vertical plain drawer style.
* Search and Wallpaper have been pushed to the more button in the launcher's menu. There are other options are are used more than these.
* Added Manage Applications to the launcher's menu.
0.0.4
Changed:
* Added Edit button on popup menu for Folders so it's easier to rename them. (Eventually I want to add the ability to change the icon on folders just like yo can with apps)
Fixed:
* FC when picking up Shortcuts
0.0.3
Changed:
* Moved System Settings so it's visible in menu, while Lock Desktop has been relegated to More menu. I use Setting WAY more that lock/unlock desktop.
* The group name is now always displayed at the top of the drawer. Gone is the animation showing the name.
0.0.2
Changed:
* Add ADW Settings to menu as they get removed from System Settings
Fixed:
* Fixed so install survives reboot
0.0.1
Features:
* The application popup menu replaces "Uninstall" with "Settings". This takes you to the Application Info window instead. There is an uninstall button on this screen, but also has a lot of other useful information.
* Added "Market" to the application popup window. This takes you to the application in the Market App. Great for quickly seeing updates/comments.
* Added "Choose Group" to the application popup window. This allows you to take an application and pick what groups you want it in. As apposed to opening the group and finding the application to add. Very efficient for newly installed apps.
* The popup menu can now be used in the app drawer. This gives access to the new settings, market and choose group options.
* Replaced drawer's ALL with UNGROUPED. Gone is the ALL list of applications in the app drawer. It has been replaced by the UNGROUPED list. This list only shows the apps that have no group assigned. As you move apps to groups, this list shrinks and makes it easier to find newly installed apps.
* Opening/Changing groups in the app drawer does a quick animation to tell you the name of the group.
Known Issues:
* If there are no apps in the UNGROUPED, the group still shows.
Please post your comments!
If i get enough good feedback, I'll start down the road to getting these changes merged into CM7.
Good job man, really nice improvements.
Just one little suggestions, i wish i could see the group label (top or bottom) on the drawer, insted of it fadind on bottom, that way u allway know what group of apps you are on.
Other than that really digging it. One more thing, i feel noobish asking this but i cant find it, how do you get to adw settings??

I agree, but it wasn't going to be easy so I avoided it. Considering there was no indication before, I figured this was a good first step.

Check out v0.0.2. I've made sure its in the ADW menu as it seems to vanish from the System Settings when you install this update.
Thanks for your feedback!
Got v 0.0.2, adw setting back to normal, works good. Keep tweaking this, good job, will definitely stay on it.

true story
I really like this! One suggestion (unless I just don't know how to do it) would be to allow the ability to swype between groups.
Nice work... Big fan of ADW and these mods.
Suggestion: I'm a proponent of the stupid search button --> useless! Besides its easy to map it to other soft key buttons if one needs it... I say replace it with the manage applications button similar to how it is in the stock launcher or put it under the more button.
I'm running EX unfortunately...
It's almost the perfect launcher except for the terrible groups structure. It's just wrong all the way.
I think custom menus, that you can navigate through swyping left to right, is the way to go...
I would also like a swipe-able app drawer to cycle through the groups.
Hey!
This looks pretty cool. I really like that you moved "lock desktop" as I never use it, but I accidentally hit it sometimes.
I actually had some issues with the locked desktop with ADW recently, and I was wondering if this would be a good place to mention my problem.
As it is, if the desktop is locked and you don't realize it (since I had hit it accidentally), its very confusing when you try to adjust something! The screen vibrates to acknowledge a long press, but nothing else happens. It would be great if you had a short TOAST popup ( http://developer.android.com/reference/android/widget/Toast.html ) that said "Desktop Locked" when the user tries to move something and the desktop is locked.
Its a simple feature but it really had me confused for a while! Since I was on a nightly build I just assumed something was broken, which led me astray from the real solution!
I think a little toast popup for that would rock!

Is it normal to lost my ADW settings selection for the settings menu? Other than that, I am digging this!

I present here a new app. WidgetShade Free!
★With WidgetShade you can have your widgets always on hand. Just use the "+" button , or long press any empty space to add a widget. WidgetShade can be called at any moment and will show as an overlay over your active application.
To call WidgetShade you have three options.
-Tap the app icon.
-Tap the notification in the notification bar (can be disabled)
-Use the trigger area (can be disabled)
The trigger area is a white and blue zone that by default appears at the bottom right of your screen, but it can be configured. Tap it or slide your finger over it to activate WidgetShade. In the application settings, you can change the position and size of the trigger area, its visibility, or completely disable it.
IMPORTANT
To avoid android from closing WidgetShade when it runs out of memory, you have two options.
-Enable "Show notification" in the options ; or
-Go to Android Settings, then to Accessibility and enable WidgetShade
Enabling the accessibility service will prevent WidgetShade from being closed. It will not access any personal information, even if the standard android warning says that it may do that.
Widgets shown in the screenshots: Digical, Elixir2, Eye in the sky, retroClock, Gmail, and Top Contacts. These are independent applications, downloadable from the Play Store and I am not related to them in any way.
I will publish this on the Play Store this week, but I wanted to offer it here first. The PRO version will have extra features (extra pages, button bar can be hidden and configurable background opacity).
Please send feedback!
Get it on the Play Store!

Another practical and useful app from you! I don't have a widget I always need to be able to activate, but I think the idea is really good. It's easy to configure and set up to work properly. So a good job from you, even though I don't personally have a need for an app like this.
Multi-tasking via widgets = awesome.
I added a update that should fix tablet layout. It changes nothing on phones, so you don't really need to update if you are using a phone.
Thank you for testing it!

Tablet FC should be fixed now. Sorry for all the updates, I don't have the devices to test the program. I depend on user feedback.
I received report of text showing as squares in widgets. How many of you have this problem? Which device do you have? Which android version?
Thank you all!
New version 1.3b
Hi!
I completely rebased the program, so now the grid looks nicer (The number of rows and columns). It is now a 5x5 grid, because for some phones you were getting weird grid values like 4x2 or 4x3.
I hope you like it
Great app. Reminds me of that Mac OSX feature that does this same thing. Will definitely buy (once I get money). Cool.

Really like where this app is heading. Reminds me alot of Intelliscreenx when I was using the iphone. waiting for a revision or 2 before getting the pro app to support. A suggestion maybe? How about an option for setting a trigger for when the notification shade is down, swiping left and right would activate the widget shade?

It is a good idea, but unfortunately I can't do that. The notification shade always stays on top of everything. This means that I can't capture events when it is down. However, you can enable the notification, which activates WidgetShade when tapped.
If you have more suggestions, let me know. I really appreciate feedback, and I try to implement all the suggestions I receive.

Bought the pro to support. Is it possible to implement a slide to trigger option? the tap to trigger can sometimes be abit disruptive (if the trigger area is too big) or hard to use if we make the trigger area smaller.

I'll try to do this. This was the original intention, but I assumed that tap was okay.
You are right, sometimes I also tap the trigger area by mistake.
Thanks for your support. I hope you enjoy the added features of the pro version.
@Dapaua:
Good app. I just gave it a try, and decided to log in only to reply to you!
Here are the list of my drawbacks (mainly in UI).
1- The trigger button you need to do something with it!
I would be happy if it's possible to trigger it with long pressing (I think this is easy to implement).
2- The virtual buttons are annoying (I already got capacitive buttons to start with), and it really takes some space.
Back button on capacitive could replicate the same functionality of the virtual one, also long pressing works fine (no need for "+"). The only thing is remaining a way to enter the settings menu).
Basically, I am trying to say give us an option to remove the floating buttons on the screen.
3- A slider to better control the high/length of trigger button & transparency.
Basically, focus more on the UI aspect and you will be good on selling this app.
Good luck.

1.What exactly is wrong with the trigger button? I am now implementing an option to only respond to swipes, and not to taps. This avoids the accidental triggering. It should be ready in a few hours (It's done, needs testing). If the problem is that it is ugly, it can be made transparent. If it is something else, tell me. I like getting feedback.
2.I agree that removing the button bar is a good idea, but I think this would be a PRO version thing. I already have an idea of how to change settings without the button bar.
3. This is a good idea, but first I want to concentrate in the core functionality. But I will implement it eventually.
I am just starting with this, I hope that in the end it will be a good program.

These are some of the more interesting new features from the owners manual that was posted earlier. They are "new" compared to the N2 but quite a few of them are carry over from the SGS4. Most of the really new stuff on the N3 is centered around S Pen and inking. A lot of thought has been put in to enhancing multiview also. The camera appears, at least functionally, to be the same as the SGS4's.
S Pen nib is replaceable
Air jump - While viewing emails or web pages, move your hand up or down across the sensor to scroll the page up or down. (Vertical)
Air browse - Move your hand to the left or right across the sensor to browse images, webpages, songs, or memos. (Horizontal)
Air move - Tap and hold an icon with one hand, and then move your other hand to the left or right across the sensor to move the icon to another location. While using the daily or weekly calendar, tap and hold an event, and then move your other hand to the left or right to move the event to another day or week.
Air call-accept - When a call comes in, move your hand to the left, and then to the right across the sensor to answer the call.
The Menu button and the Back button can be used by the S Pen.
With Air Command you can directly use the following actions:
Action Memo: Write a memo, and then select it by drawing a line around it to take actions related to the memo.
Scrapbooker: Collect a variety of content and save it in Scrapbook. (p. 141)
Screen Write: Capture a screenshot and edit it.
S Finder: Search for a wide variety of content on your device. (p. 139)
Pen Window: Launch multiple applications in specified areas on the screen.
Action Memo can be launched directly by double tapping the screen. Jot down or draw a memo, and then select the memo by tapping to perform various actions, such as making a call, adding contacts, sending messages. With selected, draw a line around an area with the S Pen to perform actions with the selected area.
Selecting and capturing an image - With the S Pen button pressed, draw a line around an area to select it. If necessary, use one of the following options:
Restore the original selection.
Convert the selection to circular shape.
Convert the selection to rectangular shape.
Customise the selection.
Select an application to use with the selected area from the icons that appear at the bottom of the screen.
Air view - Use this feature to perform various functions while the S Pen or your finger is hovering over the screen.
Samsung Smart Pause - Use this feature to pause videos when you look away from the screen.
Samsung Smart Scroll - Use this feature to scroll the screen up or down by tilting your head or the device.
Using Multi Window applications - While using Multi Window applications, select an application window, tap the circle between the application windows, and then use one of the following:
Open a list of recently-used applications in the selected window.
Switch locations between Multi Window applications.
Share items between the application windows. Drag an item to share from one ]window to another. Some applications may not support this feature.
Close the application.
Direct pen input - When hovering the S Pen over a text field, icon appears at the upper left corner of the text field. Tap to write with the S Pen. To make simple corrections, change input languages, or enter a space between characters, tap each correction tool displayed on the handwriting pad. When this feature is enabled, you can do the following actions:
Send a handwritten message.
Make a call by writing a contact name or a phone number on the keypad.
Set an alarm just by writing numbers.
Browse the Internet by writing web addresses.
Translating and sending messages - To use the translating feature while composing a message, tap → Translate, drag the Translate switch to the right, set a language pair, and then tap OK. The translated message will replace the message of the source language.
Group Play - Use this application to enjoy moments with your friends by sharing and playing content. Create or join a Group Play session, and then share content, such as images or music.
WatchON - Use this application to connect to a TV to watch your favourite shows and movies.

I did not see multitasking in the split window on the Note 3 - only vids I found were the copy/paste to different chat windows.....

Yes these multitasking features are available in note3...
Very cool! I love how the SPen can be used with the Menu and Back soft-keys. Does anyone know if the SPen can emulate pressing the Home button using the Air Commands or perhaps clicking on the SPen button?

This is also intriguing. I currently use Screen Filter to really darken my N2's screen to allow for night-time reading. I'd be curious to see exactly how dark the N3's built-in Reading Mode will make the screen.
It's not clear to me whether app shortcuts can be used on a password-protected lockscreen. This has long been a complaint of Android, and is one of the few things that iOS does better. I'd like the ability to use "whitelisted" applications so that I don't have to unlock the entire phone just to use, say, the camera. Basically, I click on the app on the lock screen, and immediately use it. I don't care if the phone is lost/stolen and a stranger takes pics with the "whitelisted" camera shortcut (if anything, it would be helpful because I have all photos set to upload automatically to Dropbox, and if my phone is lost/stolen, I can check to see what pics someone might be taking with it, including any selfies which might help to identify the perp!).
I do not know if it was confirmed till this day- the slapdragon 600 variant of S4 had the Exmor R version of that 13 mp camera whilst the Exynos one got Exmor RS. Which Exmor version did the slapdragon 800 get?

Well just a suggestion if you provide downloadable apk file here it would be great, because there are places where play store doesn't work. well i am downloading it, i currently using another iphone type controller center will give you feedback aftr testing it :good:
Update : Feedback
1st of all Nice app bro :good: i really liked it. Nice feature rich and with lots of customization.
but well few thing which need to improve. The launch of control center is very choppy and not smooth even i have a Snapdragon 600 processor and secondly its taking around 70 MB of RAM. It take lot of effort to launch while on landscape mode well below 20-24 dp the refuses to show up ( i think the problem is some where in the dp calculator which is miscalculating while on lower dp) well around 30-35 dp its working on landscape mode. I think showing miss call and message is a feature of pro application if i am not wrong because it's not showing on the application which i have downloaded from the play store :good: :fingers-crossed:
keep on the good work
Very appreciate your suggestion. We are optimizing the not smooth issue. Very thx for your support!!!

Yes I gotta agree, the transition is laggy. And I'm using a snapdragon 615 device too. Great job nonetheless

The desktop tab look doesn't have the square button to push to view all open tabs. The problem is more than 5 tabs open the tabs get hidden behind the 5th tab so I could have 9 tabs open I only see 5 unless I swipe the tabs to scroll sideways.
When the phone is closed I get the square button again which is much easier to see and switch pages. I want this full time in open mode. I know I can close it and open chrome then unfold it and it'll stay but I shouldn't have to always do that.
Any help?
As far as I'm aware, this might be because you have "See more content at the same time" enabled under the "Screen layout and zoom" option. At least that's what I've heard the Samsung browser does (shows tabbed when this is enabled and shows a button for tabs when "Make content larger so it's easier to see" is enabled).
The challenge is this is a system wide setting so if you revert back, apps like messages and files will no longer show a segmented UI where for example in the messages app you have a list of your messages on the left, and on the right you have a thread view of the selected message.
Personally I use Firefox which has the tabs behind a button even with the show more content option enabled and I can use addons, but appreciate you may prefer Chrome.
Perhaps you can try this? I.e enable the grid layout
https://www.androidpolice.com/2019/...-for-the-tab-switcher-but-you-can-disable-it/
you are correct ! i changed the settings and the tabs disappeared but now everything is huge on screen, youtube is single column, messages single column, etc
i want the show more content but just remove the tabs from chrome!
enable grid layout only affects how the tabs look when you push the tab switcher button which is non-existant with the show more content setting
Hey mate - think I've just found a solution for you. In Bixby Routines you can start a trigger event based on when Chrome is opened and there's an action under display where you can get the display zoom to show larger content. After Chrome closes or is minimized, it reverts the zoom setting back.
I've tested it, there's a little bit of a delay to Chrome switched from tabbed to tabbed switcher but it works at least.
It works OK. But not in multi app views which I usually have Gmail and Chrome open side by side. But full screen apps works great except for the delay. Thanks!

That doesn't make any difference. Tried it just now. Closed all apps reopened chrome still has desktop top tabs and no switch tabs button.

Ah ok, I think I might have misunderstood what your problem is.
You could install Good Lock, and one of the modules MultiStar has some settings in there that you could mess around with (Also check the "I love Galaxy Foldable" section there too)
