I really don't like the extended battery door that came with my ebay 3000 mah battery, so I lightly modded the original door to make it fit the extended battery. Keep in mind this is my first attempt... it has a lot of room for improvement.
do you know if you can use the ebay case with a belt clip holster? I am not a fan of the seidio case either, the ebay case looks better.
Looks good, whats tools did you use?
I was thinking about doing this but don't have the proper tool too. Have you considered making a plastic mold to cover the battery? I have heard of people using some thing call shurgoo to make custom plastic pieces.
I have seen pictures somewhere on here of people that are using the seidio clip holster with the back half of the case removed with the ebay battery door, but I now cant find the pictures... i know that mine would fit in a normal belt clip holster because the bottom and top are still as if it was in the stock case.
As far as tools, i just used a pocket knife, a pair of scissors and liquid super glue. Maybe shoe-goo? i dont have any idea what shurgoo is? I do want to try to make something out of plastic or fiberglass resin maybe.
I don't mind having the extra thickness, but all 3 of the extended battery covers I've gotten via eBay always have bad fitment just around the power button. It sticks out past the button and/or that same corner never stays down. I'm tempted to do something like take the stock cover, cut an opening in it, and then epoxy the hump from extended cover onto the stock cover. After that, I plan on finishing it off w/ wrapping it in some 3M DiNOC black CF since I've got some extra sitting around. Anyone wanna donate a stock battery cover?
I recently ordered a 3500mah battery for my G2 and everything is great except one thing.. the larger battery cover that came with it, is of very bad quality. I've only had the battery for about a week and the paint on the cover is slowly peeling off in the corners, making it look ugly Anyone know a place I could order a nice/sturdy battery cover that is compatible with that battery?

Just picked this up. I have the Hyperion battery, but this case still works fine since both have the same battery and back door.
The case is great. $7 and it's the nice smooth tpu, not that cheap honeycomb crap fake of a tpu case that Hyperion makes.
This is nice to hear. I have a Hyperion 4200 mah battery on the way and this exact Qcell TPU case, so hopefully I have the same experience with it.
I got the white back cover with the hyperion (didn't realize they had black ones at the time) and the black TPU case, so I may just paint the hyperion back cover black if the color difference bothers me that much lol.

If you have the case on the phone you won't see it. Lol. No need to paint. I have a blue back on my Hyperion.
Chiming in. It's a bit expensive but the Seidio surface extended battery cover and case will work with the normal extended holster if you opted for one of those at the time of purchase(go by the name of pt or platinum as well).
Best combo, but expensive and fits the 4500mah battery

I have a QCell extended battery, but I don't use it. The battery cover interferes with the camera flash. I think it's because the flash and camera lens are surrounded by the back, and peek out of holes in the cover. It's something I've noticed on both mine and my wife's phones.
That seidio case looks like it wouldn't have that problem, because the camera and flash are not surrounded by case. Do you happen to know if it would work with the QCell 4200mAh battery? Also, I can see where to order the case on Amazon, but I don't seem to see the battery cover. Where can I get that (assuming it would work with the QCell battery, of course)?

The Seidio battery door + case will work with the 4200 mah batteries from QCell, Hyperion (and Anker i think?). The reason why its superior is because the battery door and the case taper out/bulge out slightly where the battery is. The top and bottom are absolutely flat similiar to stock. So with the flat upper area its essentially the same stock Camera and Flash visibility with the ability to hold the extended battery.
I actually did a review on this under the AT&T section with pictures and information on how to order the battery door separately without a bulk battery purchase.

Thanks. I'm going to get the battery cover and the case with the kickstand (miss my Evo kickstand). I contacted Seidio and asked about the battery door, and they said that I could order one from them for 14.95 plus S&H. The case is on Amazon. Early Christmas present!
I had a Seidio extended battery and case for my Evo, and I loved it. Great products! Expensive, but great!

To order just the battery back cover/panel you need to call Seidio Customer service (phone number is on their website).
When you speak to a representative, advise them that you are interested in purchasing battery door for the Galaxy S3: (Product Code below).
Product Code: BVY35SSGS3-BK
I bought an aluminum bumper. Even after reading everybody saying they killed your signal I bought one. Looked really good. But it killed my signal. How in the hell do people buy those? They must be popular, they are all over the place. People have to be buying them. How?
Now, I ditched the bumper, but I ordered the aluminum battery cover. It looks cool too, and the way I understand it, the antenna are in the edges, so the aluminum batter y cover should not ruin my signs l right? Thought?
I expect people are buying them for the same reason you did?
NFC antenna is in the battery, so you may have issues with an aluminum back cover and NFC performance. I know that the thin wireless charging adapters negatively impact NFC performance. Mine still works with the thin wireless adapter under the stock back cover, but the ability to transmit/receive via NFC is reduced.
Extended battery with a back cover flip case?
Anyone see one?
And i don't mean the ugly battery cases.
Cheers
