Try putting an SD card in and see what happens.

No sd card using att one x

I guess it's "unavailable" then.
Seriously though, that's normal. Depending on your OS version it might break out user vs system on the internal storage but I don't know when that started.

Runing stock 4.1.1 ... Have mounted through twrp and it pops up on pc as corrupted but once formatted and rebooted I mount again and comes back as corrupted again ....
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk
Ah, well that's something else then. I don't have the link handy but there are threads written to deal with corrupted partitions.
Sent from my HTC One XL using Tapatalk
I have done the ruu back to stock but it still same issue ...
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk
I don't believe that will touch the right position. I'm fairly sure that mounting in your PC and reformatting was the right thing but I'm not sure why it became corrupt immediately, are you sure the format was successful?
Sent from my HTC One XL using Tapatalk
Yea did it twice ... Rebooted into Rom and then rebooted to twrp and remounted and said was corrupt again so I reformated and unmounted and rebooted and same issue still ....

What exactly is the problem? I don't see anything wrong there, your storage says you have 7.90gb free.

The sdcard won't come up just shows internal storage and app storage ...
Sent from my HTC One XL using Tapatalk
That's all this phone has, the internal storage is the "sd card" on this phone.
Sent from my Evita
O really I didn't know that ... See the usb storage ... I thought that was sd card ...
Sent from my HTC One XL using Tapatalk
See here's with it on a new Rom and says same thing
Sent from my HTC One XL using Tapatalk
Usb storage is entirely different, that's when you connect a storage device using an OTG cable, isn't the fact that it says usb storage obvious? Like I said, the internal storage is the user accessible storage (or sd card) and you have 7.32gb free. There's nothing wrong with your phone.

I load my apps in the internal and my media on the external.
Hopefully someone comes up with a way to move apps.
I just received my tablet and would like to know if this is still the case with not being able to move apps to sd. I've tried the apps 2 .sd app with no luck and don't get the option through the stock software.
Thanks

Tried using that app just now it didn't work. I selected the game I wanted from the list and hit move, and it moved it, but then when I went to start the game from my app draw it started downloading the data all over again. There was no other way to start the app even from within GL2SD. Maybe I did something wrong?
Any other ways anyone can think of? or do I have to wait till we get something better created?

I'm curious about this as well, I use some dictionaries that are close to a giga a piece app I have no room left, but I have a mostly empty 16 GB card that could hold those dictionary files.

You can only use about that much for storage. It's normal. Please change the prefix of this thread to [solved]

No....the other partition of your memory Is for the phones software files, Rom, and some other things. It's not true 16 gigs....all phones are like that even the iPhone. Any phone that has built in memory for storage is like this
Sent from my HTC VLE_U using Tapatalk 2
It's about right. A part of it is allotted to system storage (ROM)
If you have Titanium backup it will show you how it's broken down.
If not use "Quick System Info" I don't have the HOS with me or I would tell yo exactly how it's broken down.
Off my head about 1.8 is for system (ROM) maybe 1.5 or so for internal storage
a little over 10 for sdcard.
Once we get s off well be able to partition and get abit more space
Sent from my HTC One S using xda premium
As others said you don't get to use that full 16GB. There really should be a marketing law so they can stop this sorta confusion. Kinda ripping us of here.

Ok, try completely powering off your phone, then connect your phone to the computer, it should install some drivers, afterwards power up the phone and it should be recognized by adb. Worked for me a couple days ago when I upgraded to windows 8

Have you found the answer yet? I have the same exact issue with my HTC One
So I've Googled like mad with no help as of yet. The problem I'm having is with the extsd on my 3113 I bought this as open box item from best buy and I may have to return it if I can't straighten this out. The sdcard is a 32gb and after rebooting it is mounting as ro but if I go to settings> storage> unmount extsd> then immediately mount extsd (without removing from device) it will then mount as rw and remain that way until next boot. Is this normal? Sd related? Or did some jackass screw this tab and return it?

I doubt it's a hardware problem, since it can be fixed in software. Try flashing CM10 and see if that fixes your problem.

Or, if you are averse to a custom ROM, you can install Script Manager from Play Store and have it run a mount command at startup.

I'm not rooted and didn't want to as it is only 4 days old. Not to fond of recent roms that have produced either. I guess I'll return it and wait another couple years for a better choice in QUALITY tabs. Maybe iPad is the answer..... Damn I can't believe I just said that. lol

Hi all!!! Ok, so I have a 32 gig micro SD card in my m8 but when I try to download something to it let's say a torrent file or album zip it won't download until I switch the designated folder to internal and when I transfer music to my SD card it won't play in any of my music apps. It tells me it "can't play this type of file" It does store my photos very well. I'm just wondering if anyone has had this problem before? Is my Sd card corrupt? Is my Sd card outdated or something?? lol thank you guys

Do you have a link to the kernel thread? It sounds like you are running one that doesn't remove the SD write protection from stock. Without that removed, apps can only access specific folders on the card and they have to be coded within the app to allow it. Think sandboxed mode.
The easiest way I know to check the SD card is connect it to the computer with a card reader. Most likely it will be ExFAT, but 32GB and under can still be FAT32.

If you didn't change the kernel, try that. The write protection is a built in feature of KitKat designed to limit how much of your data an app can access.
