Lock screen off when connected to Smartwatch - how? - Sony Smartwatch

Hi, I would like to have lock screen disabled when I'm connected to my Smartwatch 2, and as soon as the connection is broken - I want the lock screen back on. I guess it's possible to do it with Tasker, but I have no idea how. Any help?

I do this with my work Wi-Fi network... So I assume the same rule applies, instead of connected to X WiFi network, you set it up as connected to X Bluetooth.
I use Tasker and Secure Settings to get this to work.

Attached my tasker implementation.
As I have both Samsung Galaxy Gear and Sony Smartwatch 2, my profiles check for both connections.
Under the
Bluetooth Connected profile *, B4:52:7D:F3:A6:A6Not Bluetooth Connected profile *, B4:52:7D:F3:A6:A6
you will need to change to make it work with your smart watch as that is my Sony Smartwatch 2 bluetooth address.
The lockscreen password is cfchong. To modify it to your own, you have to go through all the tasks and change them at the Set Password to your preferred password.
You will also need to set the lockscreen security to none in the Phone Settings (not tasker). I set my lockscreen security to swipe as without the lockscreen, the phone may be woken accidentally in the pocket and the homescreen widgets been activated.
I have also included some profiles to set the phone silent mode to on/off when connected/disconnected except when a call is in progress.
[Edit]
Oh...what I would die for now...is to get a WeChat smart extension. I have 10 times more WeChat messages than WhatsApp :waiting...waiting:

thanks, but it seems i can't import it to tasker. it says failed to move to SD. any ideas?
second, how do i find out the smartwatch BT address? it's not in smartconnect and not in bluetooth settings.

unzip the file and move the SmartWatch.prj.xml file to the projects subfolder of tasker.
select the bluetooth address using the search button in tasker as showed in attached screenshot. it should show all your bluetooth paired devices.
as i am still in the process of enhancing my profiles, attached is my latest "enhanced" profiles.
feel free to modify at your heart's content.

Hi cfchong
Thank very much your project template. I imported it to tasker, and it reports right state of SW connection. But my phone isn't locked with PIN/Password when SW disconnected. Could you instruct me more.

Hi, I've made my own and its simplified so its only for the Smartwatch without all the variables and complicated stuffs... I have attached it to this post.
Firstly set the password on your phone to none... then...
Make sure you have disabled beginners mode in tasker and you have installed secure settings from the play store...
Then tap the home icon and tap import and then navigate to the file you extracted from the zip...
Then edit the states under profiles to use your smartwatches bluetooth address by removing mine and clicking the search icon...
go to the tasks tab and open the SW2NotConnected task and set pin and then click the pencil
enable device admin and change the pin code...
click save and navigate back using the onscreen controls...
Try it and see if it works I hope it works

^ This
1. You have to be rooted
2. You have to grant Secure Settings admin access in your device settings.
3. Make sure to enable System+ module in Secure Settings Plugin.
4. Run 2 simple actions that require root privileges (1 for Tasker and 1 for Secure Settings), while the screen is on and make sure you grant the 2 apps Superuser permissions.
Sorry to bump a 2 week old thread, but it appears as though some are still having problems. I don't use a pin lock, but I routinely disable the keyguard while connected to my Motorola Roadster 2 in the car. For those who are experimenting with Tasker for the first time, keep it simple for now. Too many task / profile collisions can really mess with what you're trying to achieve. Hope this helps.

Problem with Widgetsoid on Android

So I`m new here and if my thread is not on the right place - sorry. And here it is my problem:
I`m using Widgetsoid Switcher Widget and have this very annoying problem that when i turn on something it not works (For example: I turn on my data service, widget indicates that it`s turned on but actually it's not. If I turned it on from the Settings menu the widget indicates it`s turned on and when I stop it from the widget it doesn`t stop). Same with WiFi and GPS... This thing is freaking me out so if somebody can help me it would be great or if you can tell me other app like that one with options for customization. Thanks in advance

Hi,
Try to uninstall, install and reboot directly after install (it's important!).
After go to global preferences and check "Disable all apn"
Create your widgets and it will be ok.
Now everythings is fine but Data Service still doesnt't work... Any ideas?
data toggle help
i had the same problem with the data/3g toggle on my htc evo. what you have to do is go to "settings->wireless & networks->then scroll down and make sure there is a check mark in the "mobile network" setting" in order for the widget to control it the setting must first be enabled. it took me and the dev 3 days to find this out.
also if that doesn't work go into the app itself and as soon as it opens it you should see something at the top that says data toggle mode. make sure that setting is set to "APN toggle" and not "APN rename"
hope this helps. remember to rep if it did
Thanks man
No problem

I had a similar problem today, it looks like the data switch in Widgetsoid places a dash in front of your AccessPoint name in order to block data transfer and removes that dash when you click switch again.
After messing with Widget I was not able to connect to net, I installed, uninstalled, etc, and then I noticed that APN list was empty, I had to add the APN again and restart it, I think (as said above) that you need the data to be ON then do a restart in order for Widgetsoid to properly read the status.
If you're rooted, use the new "root method" to toggle data. It doesn't mess with your APN & it works flawlessly for me. It's the first time I've had a data toggle that actually works.
A simple method
FIX = Settings>Location & Security>Select Device Administrators> *Uncheck Widgetsoid
Uninstalled

Stay FAR away from Widgetsoid. It can slow a Galaxy S5 down to a Crawl. Your Dialer will not function, Your phone will not respond. Its trying to load your phone with Ads or something and keeps your CPU busy, whether its a dual core or quad doesn't matter. Developer does not respond and does not seem to care. After uninstalling this App, the phone feels "new" again.
I believe this app is some type of Spyware/Malware combo. Why does it need access to my Contacts? Something very fishy and the developer never responds. It's a great Widget when it works but certain things about it don't seem right. Uninstalled!

[GUIDE] Automagically activate Screen Filter App on Low Brightness

This guide will show you how to make the app Screen Filter auotmatically activate to your preset level when you lower the brightness to the bottom/lowest setting on the TF dock.
This is useful say if say you want to read something like a book or at night, but making it much more natural and quick to activate.
You will need:
The app Tasker from the market to activate the app, and of course screen filter itself.
Tasker is £4 and screen filter is free. Tasker can do tons of things like this so go buy it immediately and stop being cheap - it is awesome!
1) Download the attached Tasker profile and save it to SDcard > Tasker > Profile(ensure to unzip it to that location!!)
2) Open Tasker and click Menu > Profile data > Import one profile. Select the profile that you just saved to the SD card.
3) Ensure the profile has a green tick next to it, exit and save as you do so by clicking apply.
If you get any odd behaviour, open tasker, press OFF in the bottom right corner, then click apply. Then open tasker again, change it to ON and click apply again.
If you want to lower /raise the filter level then in tasker tap on the profile and click edit task. Step 2 has the screen filter config, change that % to your desired level. Then click OK and Done and then Apply to save it all.
Enjoy!

[HACK] Remove WiFi reminder

IF YOU WANT ANYTHING ADDED JUST PM ME AND I WILL ADD IT AND GIVE CREDIT WHERE CREDIT IS DUE. THANKS!
This will remove that annoying little Wifi Reminder. I have tested this on my phone with 0 issues.
•You will need root
•You will a SQLite editor
1.Open Settings Storage > db > secure
2.Search for “wifi_networks_available_notification_on” (different providers will be different line numbers)
3.Edit that record to read a value of 0 < (that's a ZERO)
4.Reboot your phone
How to remove WIFI Popup Notification:
Open anycut.
Click 'new shortcut'
Click 'activity'
Click 'HiddenMenuWifiOffload'
use new home screen shortcut to turn it off
Thanks to tillithz
for some reason this did not work for me...
I am testing a kernel so that could be the cause. my phone booted kinda wired restarted like 3 times. one of those into the recovery.
after it came back up i went into the market and i got that dumb notice that wifi is available.
so I checked the settings, and it still said 0...
but again i think is cause of the custom kernel so that this with a grain of salt.
Only the "Any Cut" shortcut workaround works for me.

You may want to add a link to the free SQLite Editor here http://code.google.com/p/xdroidx/downloads/detail?name=SQLite Editor-9.apk
Also Update your post to say this only takes care of the notification not the WiFi pop-up. To eliminate the WiFi pop-up when opening apps you need to use any cut or similar to create a link to " hiddenmenuwifioffloading" and then disable it.

I'm not sure if this belongs in Development or in Q&A, but regardless, this tutorial needs to be somewhere, as everyone asks about this constantly.
Also, OP, I would suggest updating your post to have the methods of removing both the ongoing notification and the pop-up, so we can help people get rid of Verizon's nonsense.
I'm all for responsible use of data, but spamming us with a pop-up on every app launch is not the way to handle things.

In your launcher, add a shortcut via the standard long-press method. For the shortcut's target, select Any Cut.
From here you will have four options. Select "Activity". From here, scroll down to the "H" area (they're alphabetized) until you find a value called "HiddenMenuWifiOffload" and select it.
Then, open your new shortcut from your launcher. Select "Disable" and press "Okay" at the bottom, then you can use Back or Home to exit out.
You may need to restart for this to take effect (not sure), but this should disable the pop-up when launching apps.

Ya, that may not be the best idea. AFAIK that is the way in the stock ROM to switch input methods. After I did a factory reset I tried the press and hold on a textbox to get the input selection popup to show and it never would. I figured out whenever I had a cursor in the textbox and the keyboard open that clicking that icon is the same thing.

I thought that was the NFC icon?
Also I was hoping this was a real hack. My understanding is that these just disable the popups. What I hate to think about is that there's processes being used to scan for wifi even when wifi is turned "off". Wifi isn't turned off is the phone pops up telling you wifi is close. This uses battery. No Verizon I don't want to use wifi. I want to use my unlimited data plan you keep f*****g me in the ass to keep. That's the only reason I let you f**k my ass.

I would like to use the triggers
- disconnect from specific wifi network
and
- leave location (fence)
Now you can only trigger on a network or a location (I'm guessing on connecting or entering, it's not really clear in the software)
I'm assuming they'll be added in the near future?

Remove Ads?
Just installed the app, I'd heard about it yesterday and just didn't get around to installing it. Like the look and everything so far. Question: I hate ads, is there a plan to do a Pro version or within the app pay to remove the ads on the bottom?
I've got no issues with paying for a good app and I think this is definitely a good app, but ads drive me crazy and I'll just uninstall any app rather than use it that doesn't give me an option to get rid of them.
Thanks in advance for any reply! Great work otherwise!

We are going to add an in app purchase to remove the ads in the near future. We wanted to provide the app for free yet cover some little costs like github hosting and developer accounts. I know they can be an eye sore at the bottom, but ideally you only need to see them once or twice. After we are set up you shouldn't need to come back into the app for much.

Great app with good User freindly UI unlike Tasker which is too confusing.
Just 2 issues,
1-Why there is no Ringer Volume option in Action ? it seem it is basic thing one would like to do lower the volume of ringer at home and higher outside. I see all other volume option except Ringer.
2- I want to set a location base Triger but the map never load i only get the white page,i see GPS icon kick in my status bar for 2 sec and then disappear but no map loaded,. When I open Google map app it is working perfectly. any idea what is the issue ?

Did you save the Location Trigger? Is there one listed in the Profile'sTrigger list? Is your GPS enabled? How about WiFi and Cell Location? If your device can not get a lock on your location there is no way for it to fire. Once a Location Trigger is saved we should handle the rest.

After updating to Lolipop, I started using my Moto 360 as a trusted device and enabled a PIN lock on my phone. When I lock the phone with the power button and my Moto 360 connected, no PIN screen appears when I turn the screen back on.
However, if I lock the phone using the app Screen Off and Lock, the PIN screen always comes on when I go to turn the screen back on. This defeats the whole purpose/convenience of the trusted device bypassing the PIN. Anyone know how to fix this? Or know of an app that will work better?
It hasn't been updated since January so I imagine its just an incompatibility

I'm on stock rooted Lollipop and I'm running into a similar issue, but with face unlock instead of trusted device.
I have double-tap on Nova Launcher set to system lock using Tasker, and when I lock my phone using that, face unlock doesn't activate, and won't until I put in my PIN password and then re-lock using the power button.

I also tried locking my phone using Greenify instead of Screen Off & Lock, sam result. Perhaps there is a way to implement locking the phone that won't trigger the PIN to unlock? Or - and I hope this isn't the case - maybe there is no way to do this in 5.0?

I tried messing around with screen timeout in Tasker, but it doesn't let me set it to 0 seconds (for obvious reasons, I guess haha), since I noticed that letting my screen time out seems to work just fine for triggering face unlock. The lowest I can set it to is 7 seconds though, if I remember right, which is a bit too high for a screen off function.

Not sure this will be "fixed". All apps that are stating to lock the phone will actually do so, whether trusted devices are enabled or not. They act the same way as if you are on the lockscreen with the lock disabled by a trusted device and then press the lock symbol at the bottom, this also locks the device. This has been a problem forever, apps just work differently than the hardware power button.
As a fix you can try the following: Use another app to completely disable the lockscreen or keyguard (whatever your prefer) when a trusted device is connected instead of using the android built in feature.
If you are like me and want to use the new trusted devices feature of lollipop you can use Tasker as a workaround. Create a tasker task with the command "run shell --> input keyevent 26". This also requires root. Then you can use the app Home Button Launcher to set a shortcut to run the new task when swiping up. This is what I'm using and it works without any problem! I hope I could help.

I attached a pic of trying to do what you said in Tasker. When I run the task, nothing happens.

Have you installed the latest superSU beta? The previous versions had problems with the new security features introduced by lollipop. If you're not using this latest version my solution won't work.

It worked! SuperSU beta did the trick.
Also, I didn't need a separate app to make a Home key shortcut, I just made a profile: Event -> UI -> Assistance Request -> add the Task with input keyevent 26.
Thanks!
Nothing against Screen Off and Lock as it's just doing what it's designed to do (and Lock after all) but this is a useful work around, thanks.

Oh yeah I forgot about that. First I tried it that way, but for some reason it didn't work, so thats why I use an external app But I'm glad it works for you!

Thanks you guys. Now I feel more at home with Lollipop with my old habit. I couldn't stand that smart lock was disabled when I used other screen off apps (then again those haven't gotten an update for a while too).

There probably won't be. The app is called "... And Lock". Technically, it's doing what its supposed to.

Was searching for a solution and i found this thread! Thanks a lot!
So no hope for people like me who don't use trusted devices/places but use trusted face? Because I think even tasker can't do that with trusted face unlock.
Also looking for a solution to this with trusted faces on lollipop.
