I am a developer and mobile web site integrator. We have just integrated with doubleclick Ads which give out rich media Ads for intel's latest iCore technology. We have an ad currently running on our test site at cnn.explab.mobi.
This ad runs fine on iPhone but does not seem to run fine on any version of Android's native browsers.
I have not been able to debug what is happening. If any of you have time to debug this or have a way to correct this, it would be great!
Thanks,
Avinash
Both Android and Iphone use the webkit as the web browsing library. Just a guess would be that the difference could be between versions of webkit. However, I fail to see why the ad wouldn't work.
I suggest that you try it in latest andorid SDK emultator.
Where are the settings for css in android? there has to be a solution to the broken overflow. But it must not be at the browser level because none of the browsers for android handle css overflow correctly.
Hi,
I am a developer for android apps and i was wondering how i would write an app that has the ability to stream video over a wifi network. I was just curious what classes and interfaces that i would need to use or any general approach that i would have to take.
Please reply with any questions and comments
Thanks,
A fellow developer
For Android:
Basically, you would use the raw socket and TCP/IP classes along with either a lot of coding or some existing Java classes for streaming files from desktop/server Java.
For Windows Mobile, Symbian and iPhone:
Basically, you would use the traditional C socket interface almost like on Linux/UNIX and add some existing 3rd party C/C++ streaming library/classes on top.
For Windows Phone 7/Windows Mobile:
Look at the networking .NET classes and add some existing 3rd party .NET streaming classes on top.
For DumbPhones with Java support:
Again look at the raw socket and TCP/IP java classes and some existing 3rd party Java classes for streaming on top, but both here you and the 3rd party classes are restricted to the small subset of Java 1.1 available on MIDlet phones.
Thanks for the prompt response,
I am using an android phone that i'm trying to stream to a laptop computer using wifi. On the laptop i will be using some application like netcat.
Can you point me in the direction of any tutorial about how to use the classes on the android developers platform?
Thanks
We have a web application developed on VS .Net 2010, framework 4. using HTML5, JavaScript and JSON (formatted output). This application has not been designed for the mobile.
The requirement is to convert this web app into the Android platform without much effort.
Is there any tool that we can use to achieve this in less time.
Note:
We tried converting a sample app in HTML5 JavaScript JSON using Phonegap. It works for the simple application (one screen), but I would love to hear about alternate tools and the pros and cons of each product.
Thanks in advance.
