Hi there
I was trying to turn on camera flash to use it as flashlight. However, i can turn it on but unfortunately not turn it off completely.
Power Toggles and Notification App (paid one, can't remember the name exactly) seem to turn it on but not turn it off completely. I tried turning off using ADB but no help.
Any app or anything that is working for you ?

Try the "Tiny Flashlight" app's widget.
Also the Power Toggle for Flashlight from Clean n Tweaked ROM works for me

When you press on the bulb for a little longer you can even turn on strobe mode.

I am looking for a stand-alone application which will toggle the screen and backlight which I can link to one of the buttons on my M700
Background: I am using the GPS for tracking on my phone. When I turn on the GPS & Logging I then turn the screen off using a short-cut from Pocket Power Manager.
Normally I would have to use the power button on the phone to bring the screen back BUT this disconnects the GPS so screws up and logs I am writing so looking to find an app which will purely turn the screen on (using remote control apps i can see with the screen off everything is still running there as normal)
have you tried holding the power button for 2-3 seconds?
in my htc universal it toggles the backlight off & back on again, without going into standby.
Mine doesn't seem to do that. Well it turns the screen back on but it also disconnects the GPS at the same time.

when on battery power my device goes to sleep after 15 seconds ,when you press on/off button (wake up button) it comes back to the screen i was using apart from when using google maps or copilot i have changed settings in (settings-backlight) but it still happens i dont think it anything to do with the back light. It never use to it, do i need to change a registry setting

Is there a way to turn off the HOME, MENU, BACK, SEARCH button light permanently? I just want the screen on and the buttons to remain off.
LED'S HACK keeps restarting my phone, Some script i found in XDA turns it back on when u turn on and off the screen.... I was hoping for something permanent

I use LedsHack, turn off, then go into froyo manage applications and force close it. It you don't it has a running application..The program stops asking superuser rights and the cap lights stay off until a rreboot.
I have never had it restart my phone.

I'm on ViperS 5.1.0 and tried this Quick Flashlight thing. Push Power button while Screen off to turn Flashlight on.. Didnt work for me.
Have someone tried this?

I use Buttons Notification for 2 apps. The Buttons blinks for one minute. It's OK. But "Button Blink" won't let the phone fall asleep as long as you have deleted the Notification.
Hope you know what i mean..
edit: cleared notifications and wakelock still remains.. Doing restart right now......
You have to hold down the power button. As soon as you let go of the power button, the flash light goes off.
I don't know why but it seems that overnight my notification led stopped working. No more lighting up at incoming messages or while charging. But it is not broken since it still lights up during boot.
I used Galaxy button lights to disable the button lights. Then I removed this app because I thought it affects the notification led in any way. After that I even rebooted my device and now the button lights don't work aswell.
Edit: have both working again. But still don't know what was causing this. I also tried LED blinker led control to test the light. When it was installed the led wasn't working but without the app it does again. Maybe because the app needs access to the notifications.
The button lights work aswell. Just reinstalled Galaxy button lights, re-enabled the button lights and deleted the app again.
Both these solutions doesn't make any sense.
