How to upgrade Android version? - HTC Butterfly

Hello,
I have HTC Butterfly (Not the s), and I want to Flash a rom.
I am familiar with Galaxy devices, and there it is possible via Odin.
What should I do here? What is the latest official rom version?
With what tool is it possible to flash roms with this deivce?
Please advice

thanks.
What you answered me is if I want to install/flash a RECOVERY, right?
But I just wanna flash a stock ROM - I still need a special RECOVERY for that?
BTW - I searched for RUU but didnt find for HTC Butterfly.

You can got to bootloader and find out your device details..
Just restart your device..While restart just press volume down key to get it into bootloader where you can find whether it is dlxu or dlxub1..
Also you need to be very clear in your request so that we can help..

First need some info but why open bootloader and install twrp if you want to stay stock find right ota or ruu

I've tried this, it fails while checking the files, says calculator doesn't match or something like that.
A nandroid or a Rom would be good.
I can't seem to download the twrp backup that's already been supplied.

Sent from my HTC Butterfly using xda app-developers app
Yes, you can Update OTA while rooted and even with S-Off.
You can try to extract the recovery.img from the OTA zip file in your internal sdcard download folder.
Just prepare to root again as the OTA will remove the root.
