Hey. I'm using MIUI on my Xperia Neo (MIUI version from miui.us, I believe). It's all working well but I kinda dislike the miui cam, compared to the stock Sony one.
So basically, I was thinking ... can I port the Sony cam to my miui? If yes, how much trouble is it and how is it done?

Cam app from Sony is built into the Sony framework so it will be really difficult, the only way to do it is maybe to create a debrand MiUI that uses Sony framework (Similar to Achotjans SEMC Debrand Engine) as it work on that rom which is based on CM7

All right. Might as well just switch to a Sony ICS, I guess. If porting the cam app isn't worth it.

Was on ICS Oxygen. Just flashed GingerDx for a change, but I find the Oxygen ICS is one of the snappiest ICS ROM for P500. My next change would be Hep's CM9 tomorrow....weekends are for a flashing spree !!!

Noone is working on it as it need's CM which should be available on Monday but still CM is needed for Miui.
Plz port z2 stock on cm11.now we hve stable cm11 rom.but I still facing many problems when I trying to port z2 ui and apps.

Now that we have almost bug free CMs, AOSPA, is there anyone who's developing MIUI ROM for our phone. I know nothing of developing, but I would really love to have this ROM and maybe I can learn and contribute to the project too. I'm expecting replies to this post. Please please someone develop MIUI
man i've been sayin that for ever..i really hope that there is someone porting it to xl..there are many roms now and they have official support but i think they are all similar and the miui is the most unique one..

David is right. MIUI is closed-source. All they provide are porting guides and prebuilt stuff on their Github account. Also many strings aren't even properly translated (so many things are in Chinese or English).

and about if it's unique or not..sure every rom has it features..and the fact that it only can be ported makes it kinda unique

But i don't think it will have large fans
Since most users happy with kk and they won't unlock there BL if they will still in jb

You can try to build it from miui kitkat patch rom.

First and formost.
MIUI v5 is based on the JB so we cannot port this rom to CM11 or AOSP 4.4. I tried it few months back but without success. There is no MIUI rom v5 based on KK so don't go for it. Either we need CM10.1 or AOSP 4.2 to successfully port that rom.
Secondly,
In case of MIUI v6. There is high chances of success as MIUI 6 is based on KK but its not publicly available yet. Its on closed beta and will be available to numbers of devices soon. So have patience guys. We will have miui on our XL soon. But we need to wait abit more.
That's not true at all. MIUIv5 can be based on JB and KK.

but the bad thing it is for a few device
Now miui v6 released with fully new ui
But don't know yet which devices will be supported (to know if we can port it or not )
i take look at patchROM
i don't think it is good idea
anyway i think we must wait to see the supported devices first
