I know I know, that the battery for this device isn't the best. What I've noticed that the battery in my device seems to be draining a little faster. I have had the phone since it was released, I have not changed ROM from what is listed in my sig. and now I'm getting about 12 hrs of life, while I was getting about 24 hrs.
Usage has not changed.
Is it possible that the battery is not maintaining its charge?, although it charges to 4206mv according to the battery calibrator app, and has charged to that level for months and months.
Any thoughts?

Just this week my phones battery has lost its mind. I use a my touch 4g with the standard battery and had a usual battery life of 12 hours or more easily. Now from this Tuesday I've had a battery life of 4 hours from 100% to 0%. I have to charge the battery 3 times a day. Most of the battery is used when idle for some reason and I've looked at what uses the most battery in spare parts but the app will constantly crash.
I'm aware that not many of you are looking into specific threads in Accessories section so I'm putting my problem also here. I will be grateful for any help.
I bought 2x Chichitec batteries for Evo3D (this is probably the same Chichitec product as for Sensation).
I put in Chichitec battery (the phone showed about 59%), I discharged it till the phone switched off (noticed slightly better life than stock). Then I plug in charger and charged the phone for about 8 hours (much longer than charging to 100%). Then I unplugged, went to Recovery and deleted battery stats. Now the phone started to discharging much QUICKER than on stock battery! In about 14 hours of practically zero use, the battery went down to 8% and... it was on 8% for 7 hours! When the phone finally switched off I charged it again for 8 hours, unplugged and again, the battery life is very weak - 20% in 6 hours of idle (I was sleeping).
I haven't installed anything or turned on any setting, which could cause more draining.
Did I do something wrong? It appears that it has much worse life than stock battery and suddenly it works for several hours at the same % level... What can I do to make the phone show correct battery % level? Or is this Chichitec battery poor?
Anyone?

could be a faulty battery... the resistance could be slightly less... there is a couple of things that arn't phone related however let it run for a few days and allow the stats to be built up again
Is my battery life ok?
I think my battery is losing capacity or something is draining it a lot since few months ago i still could squeeze out of it about 3.5 hours screen on time, nowadays i get barely 2 hrs.
What also bugs me is that when i unplug it from the charger it loses top 10% very quickly. It goes from 99% to about 90% in just an hour or two in standby. Here are some screenshots, I don't see anything suspicious, still, I get less from it than before.
All screenshots are standby with everything shut, no sync, no internet on, nothing, it consumed 15% in about 9.5 hours and before, i got to lose about 1% in about 10 hours in standby.
Stock austrian rom 2.3.6. rooted.
Why are you still on GB?
lol. Because of the battery life and need fully working rom, but battery is very important to me. Tried stock ICS, after 2 weeks had to get back to GB cause of the battery.
Also, is there something wrong when battery monitor reports high kernel consumption? Sometimes in standby when there is more battery drain it shows high kernel consumption

Can you at least say is it normal for launcher to use about 10% of the battery? It's Holo launcher
Hello,
I've searching for like 2 months about problems with battery life and Lollipop with nexus 5. I understand the issues but since it was released, i never had much problems with it. I used to have 2h SOT for like 40% battery or so.
My daily routine allowed me to reach home with a bit more than 50% battery with 2h SOT more or less. (a lot of messaging on viber/whatsapp)
But something changed since 1 and half months ago. I can no longer do the same and it seems that i have a CONSTANT battery drain. I remember when i unplugged my phone i would reach my workplace (1:30h after unplug) i would have like 2-4% less battery depending on the usage. Currently when i get out of home the battery is already at like 92% or more depending on the usage. If i let the phone stay idle all the time, i usally get home with 30-40% battery now. I'm already thinking that my battery has gone bad. This started to happen from one day to another and i never let the battery stay too much below 30% usually, but nowadays it's impossible to predict the battery life since some days it seems to drain more than others.
I've used some apps to monitor the usage but i really don't understand much about it and can't seem to find a pattern. I've already did factory reset with all Lollipop versions and i remember doing a KK regression for some hours but the drain seemed like it was still there (can't use KK on my nexus 5 anyway, it feels weird after Lollipop experience ) but i didn't even fully charged the battery as i remember. Anyway if it would be an app, there should be some kind of logging in battery stats which doesn't, and i can't think about anything else.
I finally gave up and decided to ask help here, since i don't know what else to do. I'm actually leaning towards getting a nexus 6 but after reading about so many issues (screen/battery life/burn-in) i'm not sure what else i can do with my nexus 5.
If anyone can give me a hint i'd be very grateful
PS: already tried Cataclysm ROM and using currently ElementalX kernel. I notice a bit better battery life with ElementalX but i think the pictures speak for themselves.
Judging by that constant drain with very little shown awake time I'd install Better Battery Stats and check for kernel wakelocks. I had a similar situation with a wake lock from using a wireless charger that did not show in the regular battery stats.

i already installed it before, but currently don't have it installed. I have Wakelock Detector app i can post a screenshot if helps
Installed Better Battery Stats, i'll post results tomorrow (battery at 19% already).
As promised, there's still some battery left but i didn't even use the phone today mostly... in days like these i should be over 70% as usual or maybe close to 80% that i remember.
Can't seem to find the cause
bump i guess
will some full discharge cycles fix this ? iirc that can make things worse.
I feel your pain...when I was on Kitkat, I'd get to work running just Waze and Pandora and my battery life would be at 80%. Installed Lollipop 5.1 and now half way through my trip (15 minutes of use) the phone shuts down with a dead battery. Maybe it's just a coincidence that my battery decided to give up the ghost at the same time I install 5.1, but I find that very odd...the phone is only a 1.5 years old...lithium battery's tend to last 2+ years and even then they don't fall off a cliff in terms of capacity. At this point I think I'll buy a new battery and see what happens, LG OEM are about $25 on Amazon.
I had this problem before I flashed the ROM, but that was several years ago so I can't compare between now and then, but it is clear that my device drains battery abnormally fast. I would say it lasts about 2.30 hours and it gets very hot over time.
To give a perspective, the miscellaneous battery drain went from 33% to 71%
Granted, I was installing new apps during that time, but I still don't see why it should drain so much, especially when it is miscellaneous that drains the most.
Buddy! You got a rom on there for just 4 hours! Way too soon to tell anything about battery usage and forget the on board battery statistics. Might as well read your coffee grounds...
Plus, tons of stuff is going on in the background after flashing a rom, indexing is one of them, AND Katshmallow is overclocked which makes the tablet run on the hot side anyway and eats battery. That's the price to pay for speed.....
Run it for a week, install Battery Battery Stats, maybe Wakelock Detector too, then we can talk about battery drain....
