I've been promising some kind of usable Sense 2.1 ROM for old radio 32A for a while, so here's at least sort of "alpha" release for those of you that are wondering about the new Sense UI but didn't "move on" to the new radio just yet, like me. It's not perfect, but I find it quite usable.
Thanks to nprussell and sanpei (and ahmgsk) for creating the base we could build upon.
The ROM to me doesn't feel yet like something that should deserve a 1.0 version number, hence the "alpha" status for now. It's got a few quirks here and there and some things don't work, but other than that I must say I quite like it. I've been running it as a day-to-day ROM for a while now. So don't be alarmed too much by the "alpha" status - if you don't mind the issues the ROM has, it's actually quite nice. Also, it's not the fastest of the bunch, but it's not that slow either. Also seems quite stable. Tested only on my phone so far, though (see my signature).
I'm not promising frequent updates (so please, don't expect them), but I'll try to work on it as time allows. I think the Legend RUU is the best 2.1 Sense UI available.
What's in the ROM and works without problems:
- The ROM should be multilanguage (tested English and Czech).
- 3D works great (see the second post for screenshot).
- Multitouch of course works as well, including the new "pinch home screen" in Sense UI.
- Google Maps replaced by the latest Google Maps modified by brut, thus multitouch works in them as well. And there's of course Google Navigation thanks to brut as well.
- Market Enabler added.
- Nexus One boot animation.
- Added some notification sounds and ringtones, all in Ogg instead of MP3.
- Default analog clock changed to Pulse clock (yeah, again )
- GPS, compass, accelerometer, all that jazz.
- Google and Social network sync, SIM contacts, Friends stream, animated weather on home screen...
What's known NOT to work:
- Bluetooth. At all. Yeah, here we go again. Sorry.
- USB mass storage. I've added the "USB mount" application to work around this issue.
- Autobacklight (obviously). It's enabled after install, though (the build.prop option to disable it by default doesn't seem to work for some reason).
- No app2sd, no swap, no nothing. For now. Swap and/or compcache might be added later (though it seems like the ROM does not really need it).
Quirks and known issues for v0.5:
- Not really an issue, but - the startup, especially the very first one, is quite long! It can take several minutes. It's even longer on v0.3. So have patience - if the boot animation is moving or the "unlocking SIM" spinner is spinning, it's still booting.
- Editing APNs may or may not produce FC and/or crashes.
- LED notifications. Orange LED doesn't work at all and the apps seem to be using only green LED for all notifications (even if the app uses different color on regular 32A - ie. Twidroid's blue notification light becomes green).
- Keys backlight doesn't work.
- Camera. If you take picture, the preview sometimes doesn't show up at all and when it does, it's in black & white. The thumbnails of the photos you took with this ROM in gallery are corrupted (several different issues). Even though there are these several issues, the actual photos are fine! You can view them on the phone fine, you can upload them fine (Here's one I took today and uploaded to Picasa and Facebook with this ROM)
- Camcorder. It seems it can be made to work if you set it to record video without sound. If you enable sound, it'll freeze as soon as you press the Record button.
- Because the Legend ROM is quite big, there's slightly less space for your apps. Nothing drastic compared to other ROMs, just saying.
- Sometimes, when the ROM starts up for the very first time, after completing the setup wizard you get the Sense home screen that is "incomplete", ie. doesn't contain the default flip clock and other widgets seem to be missing from the ROM as well (you can't even add them manually, they're missing from the list). If this happens, just go to Settings, Applications, Manage Applications. Find HTC Sense in the list, click on it and select "Clear data". When you return to your home screen, it reinitializes itself again and this time everything should be as it's supposed to be (and stay that way).

- This is a stand-alone "side project" ROM not worth its own thread. It's NOT meant to be the successor of WLegend 0.5! There WILL eventually be WLegend 0.6!
- Based on Sprint Hero files. It's not based on one specific leak, it's a mashup of different leaks including the official OTA.
- The fastest Eclair ROM I've seen, including vanilla Eclair (yes, I think it's even faster than CM5-test6 and certainly less power hungry, even though it's Sense)
- This ROM is English only except for keyboard input! You can set a different locale with MoreLocale2 (included), but it'll only affect non-system apps. The system itself will always be in English.
- Modified to remove the CDMA Hero quirks - you can dial numbers in international format just fine and you can also hide SIM contacts (
- The very latest (today's) CM 2.6.33.4 kernel with BFS and OC to 576MHz (it's perfectly safe)
- Thanks to Cyanogen's effort, we now have photo preview in Camera fully fixed. Thumbnails are still corrupted, though. And Camcorder still works only when not recording audio.
- Latest (I think) Brut's Google Map mod and HTC_IME mod by jonasl.
- Suffers from the "uncomplete home screen on first start" issue - please see the known issues for WLegend 0.5 above for workaround.
- Other WLegend 0.5 known issues present if not specified here otherwise, so please read the WLegend known issues carefully. Thanks.

- Available either with regular kernel (turbo mode enabled by default) or with overclock enabled kernel (max. 576MHz) - thanks to ToAsTcfh, pershoot, coolbho3000 and all the others involved in creating the OC patches. Use SetCPU to control the frequencies (autodetection works). Let me know which one do you prefer. You can switch between them by just reapplying the corresponding update, BTW.
- Compcache is now disabled by default again. In my opinion it doesn't really help on 32A and might actually be hurting. If you disagree or want to use a regular swap, just enable it by editing /system/memctl_config.
- HTC_IME mod by jonasl updated to v2.5.
- Wireless tether replaced with the working one.
- Live Rosie add-on for v0.4 might still be used on this version.
- Kernel modules loading fixed.
- Not really a change in the ROM, but it seems like you can get Camcorder working if you turn off recording of the sound. Will investigate more.

- I've pulled the 0.2 update because I forgot to correct a small glitch that was causing the notification LED to light up constantly when it should be blinking. So, the battery was just fine tonight (lost about 20% in 8 hours, which is normal for my phone and config), so either I fixed the battery drain issue with my previous tweaks or it really was just a random thing.

Checked before posting, checking now again and I'm already way past 22.8MB...so if you've got problems, they're either on your side or were just temporary.

If I remember correctly (I've done quite a few tests and don't keep notes), camera libs are from Kingclick's Hero Eclair, which I think was the only 2.1 Sense based ROM with (more or less) working camera on 32A for me.

I dont speak italian but I think he means he got a FC in the Settings App and a blackscreen after booting and entering PIN since I got this too.
Since Power Off isnt working one has to pull the battery.

I am not responsible for what happens to your phone... I test out all of my roms before I upload them, and they work for me... so if you destroy your phone.... its your own fault
Installation Instructions
-Backup current apps+data (never system data)
-Download G2xTreme and place it on your External SD
-Reboot to Clockwork Recovery
-wipe data/factory reset
-Wipe cache
-Go to mounts/storage and format /system
-Flash G2xTreme
-wipe data/factory reset if you want haptic feedback to work
-Reboot
-On bootup, please wait a few minutes before doing anything, then login to google (or skip and setup wifi first)
-Go to settings/applications and check the box to allow unknown sources (if you want)
- Go to settings/display and select brightness and UNCHECK automatic and adjust to your liking (auto brightness, AFAIK has always been an issue with stock roms, LG's fault)
- Run LG 2X/Black Notification App and Accept SU permissions (otherwise Backlight notifications will not work)
- Charge Battery to 100%, run BatteryCalibration App, uninstall app (wont need it after that)
- setup Xperia launcher.
To add icons to the dock bar, you must remove the transparent boxes, by long pressing them and dropping them in the trash.
Play with different things, explore the launcher, Folders are awesome... this is a killer launcher!!!

Apps that are included (and if they came straight from the base or if you modified them)
Kernel Selection? Custom kernel or stock base kernel
Gapps installed? On /data or /system?
Themed or stock? (depends on the base)
Known\anticipated Bugs

Status Error 0 is usually fixed by copying the update_binary file from the original 2.3.3 Update zip and replace the version in your zip, same location (Something like META-INF -> google, etc etc). Hope that helps!

Like I said in the op... this is going to be a very basic rom for awhile... I will update it often... but as the mods get more technical they will take more time.. but its fun learning.. (and frustrating).. and I have a ton of respect for the true developers out there...
Personally, I wouldnt mess with the DPI. Its very easy for users to get an app that will change that, and some apps looks very funky\screwy when you mess with the default dpi. Its def not a bad thing, but I would recommend you make it an add-on or leave it up to the user.

i agree. a lot of apps look like **** at 190. i love it, but the greader app by google looks horrible. had to revert back to 240
Updated to V .2 - small changes... but learning a lot as I go... totally open to ideas of things that you would like to see in a rom.... give me something to work on... I am really focusing on learning how to add reboot option to power menu.... pretty big step for me .. seems difficult... but not too bad at the same time

Very Stable.... especially right now... the current mods are very basic mods.. stock kernel... no seriously modified apks... again.. I am learning... and down the road there may be some bugs when I make some serious changes... but I flash a rom on my phone and test out things I changed to make sure I didnt break anything

Well, I just installed the ROM. It's very fast, and absolutely no bloat, so that's good. Haptic Feedback on the capacitive buttons isn't working though.

WELCOME TO PANDORIAMA ROM for the (Intermediate - Advanced) User who knows EXACTLY what they want.This is more for the intermediate to advanced user that knows EXACTLY what they want , there is a TON of customization, my aim for my ROM is to give the user plenty of options to design their own UI from the installation point and give them the tools to do so and most importantly give you a base that is smooth and fast to play with and I think I have done that. It may become frustrating if you are a beginner and do not know what you want ESPECIALLY if your main language is not English, but for the more advanced users that do understand alot this is awesome , you will see what i mean when you start the aroma, Little by little the customization/tweaks and mods may or may not grow but it will definitely change if anything does need to depends on my motivation or how much support I get. Instructions:
I would recommend using CWM recovery 5.5 as I have had users using the upgraded version 6.0.1.2 and because of some issue with it, it was not wiping the data properly. And caused problems with rom. Not sure if it was just the user or the Cwm so just a precaution,
Steps
Copy Zip file to internal or external SD card
Wipe/Data factory reset is a must ifyou 100% dont want any FC. I mean it may work if you dont but to be on the safe side do it.
Install zip from sd card
And run through the aroma options - Take note : If you make a mistake on an option and want to re-do the installation ,Complete a Wipe/Data reset before doing it!
Be aware it may take Longer depending what you choose in aroma (It is normal to take several minutes at times)
Take Note: If your ExtSD card is playing up or has a bug or faulty directory or file, this is going to cause problems when installing the rom as many aspect of the rom uses the vrTheme structure, so if you have followed the above instructions EXACTLY aswell as using the 5.5 CWM recovery, and also checking the MD5 Checksum with the file you have downloaded and things are still playing up, Then I recommend you try format your ExtSD card COMPLETELY and then re-install the rom after you have done a Full factory & data wipe. Actually I do not recommend I insist you do this if you want to successfully use the rom

As Agreed by Pandoriams main users and myself, We agreed that an update is best of to be released every last friday of the month Unless a new version from samsung has been released, recently an update was happening every 2nd day and was basically becoming abit too much work for myself and even the users as they had to keep reflashing the new version. This new idea will be better as it will give me more time to update and I will not burn out as fast.

Rom Information/ tips and news
If you want to use my rom with another theme just choose stock theme and then when the rom is installed just flash the other theme over the top and make sure the theme supports 4.1.2.
-Multi CSC - I am experimenting thanks to Wannam for the data. Although i am finding hard to automatically change the csc over. It can be done manually tho. I have even tried the Playstore app I am able to select the new CSC but on the reboot it doesn't change it, Other devs also having this issue on the I9305 something may have been changed by samsung.
- If you have not completed a FULL Data wipe & factory reset then expect to have random FC. If you don't then consider yourself lucky
- If you have just installed the rom and went through the setup wizard and something doesnt seem to work correctly then reboot the phone manually and see if that fixed the problem before querying.

I am assuming you are rooted if you are looking at custom ROMs, so take a nandroid backup and you can hop between ROMs very easily without loosing anything

This needs a bit of testing but I know for a fact the shutter sound changes for sure (only when the camera is focused). As for everything else I'm not 100% sure about. Please give me some feedback!

Anyway, thanks. I don't think I'll be doing the upgrade next week and this project is better than what I'd get, AND just saves time adding in extras.. No reason to pretty much downgrade (in my eyes) with the official. Hope that screen freeze gets worked out eventually so I can stop talking to my phone like a puppy when it boots.

And if it freezes, it doesn't do it as the S or SA of Samsung starts. A little more crash friendly for the eyes. Really trying to like this update... but when you see the attached images it's almost like someone wants you to hate it. Once that panel fills out the screen there's 2 swipes to put it back, if you want to swipe. Speaking of progress, the stock weather app is coloured like you're not supposed to look at it.

the only way the screen freeze will get worked out is we wait for official pie to come out for a530w and see lol
ye i kinda hate the fact that it fills up the screen and how it wastes space, but you get used to it, the thing i hate the most is the brightness slider location, its the very bottom and i prefer it to be on the top

Reminds me of getting a new Playstation and EA Sports makes hockey suck again and each year adds in the things they already had from the beginning so you buy it each year. But not with 2 thousand dollar price tags.
No matter what phone, i will not be on an unaltered OS for a while. I got a friend of mine to upgrade one of her S9+ phones and it kinda works for the bigger screen but still crud. Crud on speed. Keep on cookin'!
Battery life good, I think this rom smoother than the stock. Maybe you can add more custom content like that ringtones. Can you add tweak to change screen resolution like in the samsung flagship phone too? To preserve battery life. Great rom it is my daily driver. :good:

yep oneui literally was only here for like idk 3 months so it still needs some improvement
Slightly. The latest, or the one i downloaded last night hasn't had any freezes/reboots yet. Haven't cut out any apps yet but installed a few Magisk modules and usually would have had an issue at boot by now.
The brightness slider can be applied up top but it's bulky... of course.

Try YouTube that is where you can get freezes.

Samsung released a buggy Android pie update so until they fix it all pie will have issues.
Yeah i haven't tried any video yet but i am prepared for that to freeze and this is an excellent version as far as an unfinished ROM goes. I didn't flash the module to maintain bluetooth in my vehicle either as of yet, but once again that functions flawlessly if i just accept the pop-up when starting my car. Not a major concern. What's vastly improved and most important is when re-booting it will not freeze at the Samsung logo if installing a module or for any reason... as of yet and hopefully always. Going to purge some apps now and let you know how that goes. Also, for anyone that wants, you can add camera shutter toggle, call recording and remove the security menu from the battery health section (not an uninstall but just omitted).
Here's the 3 entries for the cscfeature.xml described above that are working: I am getting spaces when i post so make sure to fix it.

Most of you probably have them already but it's easier copying and pasting if you don't Be careful as there is a space in the code for some reason.
Also, not really anything required, but you can have a data on your power off menu and take out the auto-spacing in your dial pad entry. These should already be there and only require changing "FALSE" to "TRUE"
