[Q] Samsung AT&T Infuse Problems - Samsung Infuse 4G

I have been trying to fix a this phone for a friend at work. When I got it was stuck in a boot loop, fix that problem by flashing stock rom. I got the rom with root and CWM recovery here: [ODIN][UCLB3] AT&T 2.3.6 Gingerbread with root and CWM recovery option - Infuse 4g using option C. The phone works but the navigation keys don't. So if you go into an app or anything you can't leave. I have been trying to flash a custom rom that has the option in it to put navigation "keys" on the screen but, in CWM when I go into the ex-sd card it says there are no flies. I have tried to download CWM from Rom Manger also with luck. I cant find TWRP for this phone and I cant flash it from Goo without the navigation keys so, my question is; is a custom out there that can be flash with Odin or a way to make the custom rom files work with Odin or a CWM recovery for this phone that works? Please help I have been messing with this problem for a while now and don't know what else to do. Thanks for any input.

you may have a hardware issue with the nav buttons
the only way i can think of to test it is to use one of the "unbrick" package with a complete reparttition
after that, try the buttons with the stock rom - if your buttons dont work with stock rom after a complete factory reset, you need to open the phone and check the hardware

They still don't work... Is there not a way to flash a custom rom with odin? Like a stock android based rom where you can put the nav keys on the screen.

the only rom avail via Odin are the stock 2.3.6 or stock with root that jscott30 put together.
if your nav keys don't work on stock, i'm thinking that it may be hardware related. idk if firmware will fix it.
here are jscott30's thread:

Right, I'm not trying to fix the nav keys with firmware. What I was trying to say was "soft keys." I was wanting a rom with soft keys but I just learned that there are apps on the market with them. LOL Wow I was trying to make this harder than it needed to be. Well I do thank you for your help though and sorry I wasnt more clear. Thank you!

I had similar problems, I would suggest getting all 3 buttons fixed, both volume and the power button, my Infuse had the power button damaged, it was like $15 the repair, they can re-use your current buttons they may be stuck.
Then after you get them fixed, get an odin or heimdall stock with root rom and flash it, then you can go up to 4.3.3 with one of the many roms out there, like Beanstalk or CM10.2 which is the one I'm currently running.

Removing ClockWorkMod recovery

Hi guys, I need your help!
Yesterday I updated my phone from Froyo 2.2 to Gingerbread 2.3.5 with Kies, then I rooted it trough Odin and flashed the recovery with ClockWorkMod recovery (i followed the guide, and made everything it asked to do). I completed the task succesfully. But here comes the problems:
I turned the phone on and I wanted to use Wi-Fi connection but I couldn't! It was just saying "error" and in settings the MAC address was unavaiable. I found something on the web, like trying to dial *#*#526#*#* but it didn't work too ("Driving loading unsuccessful").
So I wanted to bring the phone back to the previous state, So i unrooted it (succesfully) but now I'm stuck with this ClockWorkMod recovery and I can't find a way to restore the original Samsung i9003 recovery because i can't find it anywhere and I don't even know if I can use another Samsung's one.
I tought that maybe reinstalling Gingerbread from zero could fix this problem, but I'm not even sure of that, neither on how to reinstall it. Damn, I'm truly an Android n00b
Thanks to everyone that will spend some time helping me!
If it can help, here some infos about my phone

Now, Do you want a guide on how to re-flash back to Gingerbread using ODIN? If so,It is here. And, I would like to tell you that on re-flashing the FW, you are going to void your warranty and you will be able to get rid of the CWM
Hope it helped you!
hi OP
I'm facing the same problem as you, right now waiting for dxkp9 download and reflash with Odin.
But if you somehow manage to solve this issue please share.
Hi!
I tried and I tried and I solved it! I flashed back the stock rom of I9003 with Gingerbread trough Odin. This removed ClockWorkMod and restored the phone as it was in the beginning. Problem solved, original recovery mode and wi-fi finally works!

[Q] How to downgrade From ICS to Gingerbread?

I have a Nexus s with 4.0.3 flashed via bootloader.How can i downgrade to 2.3.x without root,cwm or debug(cause it isn't working) ?
i've tried several methods but none of them worked(Odin,Heimdall)
They all requires me to enter download mode with debug enabled. My debug mode is enabled but as far as i read on xda,the degub is not working in this version of ICS.
my question is : how can i downgrade to ANY firmware from this ICS version
P.S. Entering recovery mode is not an option...the phone simpli enters in a recovery/download mode - loop and keeps restarting.
Please respond fast.10x
The way I did it was to download Clockwork Mod app and scroll down to where it says stock... then 2.3.3. Once u flash that you'll lose root and an update to 2.3.x will be prompted to ya. If it doesn't then Google (Download) 2.3.4(x) and manually update. What model do u have btw?
- Google
You need to root is the basic moral here. Nothing else is really worth the effort of getting it done.
Hi
If the procedure for the nexus is the same as it is for the S2.
It should be straight forward.
Download your ROM, if its Orange you want here is a good link, I used it myself today:
http://androidromupdate.com/2012/02...-i9100p-firmware-updates-list-and-stock-roms/
The ROM I used was the NON WIPE type - I9100BVKJ4_I9100ORAKJ4_ORA
I include a picture of what I did.
I was initially on a custom ICS 4.0.3 XXLPH and have gone back to Orange stock rom.
Load the integrated Rom just into the PDA window - connect your phone in download mode and start, and that should be it!
Don't check re-partition or anything else.
Keep trying it will work.
I also had an initial prob whereby I installed the wrong kernel and the phone screen was messed up and seemed to be bricked and to get it back I loaded odin up.
Put phone in download mode.
Checked re-partition - unchecked 'auto reboot and f.reset'
Used a PIT (partition file)
Used a kernel file suitable for the S2 in the PDA window and pressed 'start'
This seems to have repartitioned and wiped the mistake and unbricked the phone.
This loaded and the phone booted - no messed screen.
Then I continued to accomplish the ROM switch over.

Don't do this. The method for the Nexus S is definitely NOT the same as the SGS2, or even the SGS. Although it may be possible to use Odin or Heimdall, it is not recommended. We already have enough freedom to do as we please.
I thought all android / samsung phones would follow the same procedure for flashing new roms or unbricking via Odin?
Kies is useless for updating as we all know.
So what other methods beside Odin or Heimdall can be used on the samsung nexus?
Cheers for clarifying though, I was only tying to be helpful
galaxy 2 ics to gingerbread
dear all
i am much upset that i upgrade my galaxy s2 to ics 4.0.3 , it is much laggy i want to downgrade it to gb 2.3.5 or 2.3.6 , can anybody help me to do this , with the all the steps and downloading links of the exact files , i tried alot many times and when it is done on odin with pass message , cell restarts and with error screen .
thanks in anitcipitation
Regards
Shoaib Hassan
i've just downgraded to 2.3.2 i used the rom wiper from bm and then simply flashed the oxygen rom over it
the only way and easily is odin.just go to downloading.make sure to download the correct modem ,baseband and needed files by cheking your nexus s version.ex.i9020t,i9023 .there are not the same version, and will use different modem, baseband ...
I also want to downgrade from ics to gingerbread too, by pure luck i managed to upgrade to ics (i'm completely new to this) but having had this on my phone for awhile, I want to return to gingerbread...
I'm currently grabbing kernel_I9100xwkj3 (couldnt find xwkj1 anywhere)
and
gt-i9100_o2i_i9100xwkj1_i9100o2ik11_i9100xxk14
to use with odin?
question is... is this all i need and is there anything i need to be aware of?
You need to make use of fastboot and flash the stock GB rom from factory images provided by google, then you can flash cwm and then flash any rom you want
it is because cwm can flash roms with android version up but not down means that you can flash 4.1 if u have 4.0.4 but if you are on 4.0.4 then you cannot flash 2.3.x
Hope it helps

Help! boot loop

ok so i rooted a few weeks ago and downloaded the usual apps. super user titanium back up and clock work mod. tried to flash a rom with clock work mod and got the e:signature verification failure message. found a post for a kernal that made clock work mod actually work so i tried to flash a rom. zSimplyAOKPV5_Dark to be exact. now it sticks on boot screen. i have searched for hours and cannot find a way to fix my problem. its my first rooted android and first attempted rom flash and i botched it right off the rip. please help?
Depending on what you did beforehand, you have some options.
If you have backed everything up previously, just flash back to stock with one of the one-click stock roms in the Development section (they're in a sticky).
If you haven't backed everything up, try holding V+/V-/power until it reboots. If it doesn't take you to recovery, you can try to flash a kernel (most likely one that would match the version of android/rom you were running prior to this flash) and see if it lets you into recovery. You'll have to flash it with either Odin or Heimdall, after rebooting into download mode (power off, hold V+/V-, insert USB).
If that doesn't work, though, the stock flashing would probably be your best and/or only bet.
it wont allow me into recovery though i can get to download mode by pulling the battery and pressing just the volume +- and plugging in the usb. i was trying to flash an ics slim rom. thanks for your very speedy response.
i have now tried to flash a stock rom however it is not working from there even with the stock kernal. now it is hanging on the at&t screen.
ok i got it. seems the kernal i flashed to help cwd work properly was the culprit. now i dont know how im going to flash this ics rom im looking at without it.

Flash corn kernel if you have stock gingerbread
Sent from my SGH-I897
The utility in my signature can help you flash the Corn Kernel so that you will have CWM.
I have corn kernal and odin 3 on the computer at home. Ill do that tonight. Any suggestions on a good stable rom for a noob? Preferably ics. I hated posting for fear of being flamed as a noob. My wife keeps making fun of me for it so I kinda have to get it done. I want to fix hers also. Its a great little phone it just seem a bit buggy to me. Very laggy. Thanks for all the help.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA
Maybe start with a KK4 based rom such as Legend and then move up to ICS after that. I only say that because there is a bug in ICS that could render your internal SD unusable. It's rare, but when it happens you will not be happy.
Still unable to get corn kernal to flash. I've tried a few of your guys fixes but I'm gonna have to get some other updates to my computer first.

[Q] How to de-brick rooted P5110 that keeps rebooting after startup animation (boot)

As the title says: P5110 keeps rebooting during boot - right after animation stops (before word SAMUNGS starts glowing).
Tablet is rooted and there is CWM 5.5.0.4 installed. Was just fine for almost half a year and all of a sudden this...
I have tried
- wipe data/factory reset
- wipe cache partition
- advanced : wipe Dalvik Cache (whatever that might be?)
I also tried all the "mounts and storage" options and noticed on thing: i can mount all storage mounts (/system, /cache, /data, /efs, /preload, /sdcard) but one - namely /emmc. Does it mean that emmc is broken? What is emmc? Is it important?
I am considering unrooting it and removing CWM. But not sure whether it's even possible and don't dare to try!
Can you tell me anything that might help me debrick this tablet?
Do you have nandroid backup(one that you make with cwm)? If yes go to backup and restore in cwm and hit restore....if not try to reflash rom via cwm or flash stock rom via odin in dowload mode.
emmc is.... http://www.simmtester.com/page/news/showpubnews.asp?num=181

Sorry to jump on this thread but might be a similar steps the OP has to take.
What if he flashes a new Rom and it still is locked in a strange boot up?
I posted a thread earlier today but either no one has an answer or my thread title was just crappy.
Mine did exactly what his is doing now (just boots the samsung logo and hangs) and now it just boots into recovery everytime you start it.
Flashing an original stock rom didnt fix it.
Flash via Odin any stock ROM then root it and flash whatever you like.
This kind of brick may occur easily if you have flashed uncompatible kernel or tried to restore nandroid backup of another ROM or made by uncompatible CWM recovery version.

Normally, it should actually work absolutely fine if you flash a stock ROM via Odin.
Nobody knows what did cause your problems and what did you flash as last. Also, different OS versions use sometimes different partitions. Even CWM recovery is not compatible through all versions, it uses different formatting.
So this way should work to restore stock ROM on your device:
find and download Odin that fits your device (earlier versions are not neccessarily worse ones)
find and download PIT file for your device
find stock ROM for your device consisting 3-files (for PDA, Phone, CSC).... ROMs are usually zipped, so you will get 3 data after extracting
The PIT file will do re-partitions for the case that your formerly installed ROM used different partitions whch are not compatible with the stock ROM.
After that you will have again unrooted stock ROM. So just be careful afterwards whatever you flash and before you do it, make sure that whatever you flash always fits your device (no matter is it whole ROM, kernel or just upgrade).

Thank you for the reply. I had posted a link in here that linked to my thread that explained what i had done and used but it didnt show up for some reason? Anyway I used the below roms(in bold). An update was available for JB and we own two tablets both the P5113 and bought at the same time. One tablet updated fine but the other one would download the package but then would keep failing to install it. So i did a factory reset on the device and then that's when the fun began and it started booting strange.
So I first tried flashing the official JB rom using ODin 3.04.
P5113UECLK7 (4.1.1) - Cellular south November 2012 (Official)
and it still did the same thing so then i tried flashing it back to ICS which is the rom that was on there i think. (It was ICS but not sure if that was the exact version number?)
P5113UEBLI1 (4.0.4) - Singapore September 2012 (Official)
Im sure the roms are going on there fine as if im not mistaken ICS has a blue battery charge icon and JB a gold one. I noticed that it went from blue to gold when i first loaded the 4.1.1 on there and then back to blue when i put ICS back on there.
I cant seem to find a PIT file for the P5113. Only for the P5100. Would that work?
I tried it anyway and it didnt work

If I was you, I wouldn't flash it before I am 100% sure it fits the p5113. I own the p5110 and they are indeed very similar, but who knows.... Take care of your Tab, mate.
BTW: why not CM10.1 stable? It works awesome, full wipe/factory reset, install zip through recovery, install recent gapps for CM10.1 (4.2.2) and after boot install Apex launcher and enjoy life

I hear you Its a paper weight right now though so thought id rather try as nothing else is doing the trick.
The tablets are my kids so i preferred to just give them an official stock version. I got put off using custom roms when i used paranoid android on my samsung galaxy 2 and it was real buggy. I just need my devices to work for the basics. I now run stock jelly bean on my GS2 but even that has crappy battery life, lucky for it to make it till 4pm and still be on and thats with moderate use. Couple of phone calls and a few text messages and a tiny bit or browsing. I know what is causing it though as it only starts to lose battery when im not on wi fi. It at least doesnt freeze and stop receiving phone calls altogether like PA did though. I used to miss a ton of work calls because the phone had actually frozen.
I love Apex though. I have Apex pro on my GS2 and its much better then the standard launcher. My daughter has the GS3 and it still does not rotate on the home and app screens which i find annoying.

I've got your point, mate. :good:
Same with me: I need all the functions to work. The CM10.1 does it really, but my p5110 is wifi-only device so I'm not sure if CM10.1 is same good for your p5113. CM10.2 seems to be smooth and fast, but many apps aren't yet updated for 4.3 so I will wait a while before I flash it again.
I have cm10.1 on my p5113...it runs amazing...the p5113 owners most of the time have to flash the p5110 version because there is nothing different with the tabs besides the ir port..

OK, yes- you need same Odin version as Tabs 51xx, this is link for Odin 3.07:

Try pressing the buttons with the charger plugged in, as well as plugged out, that is little trick with the p51xx Tabs

Great, I am glad to hear it did charger cable trick help?
Just to make sure: you must be sure to flash a stock ROM first (not JB based custom ROM), after it you will have revived Tab without root. After that normal proceeding: root it, install CWM recovery or custom kernel that fits your ROM (or even whole custom ROM) which already features the CWM recovery.
The stock recovery (3e) checks the signature so of course you can't flash any custom zips. CWM recovery has an option "toggle signature verification" where one can disable signature check. Then you can flash whatever you want, just take care that all you ever flash must be absolutely compatible for your device.

One more thing mate, look at this video which I've posted on YouTube last January:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0NXBN9Z63TY
It describes how to get rid of the signature verification problem. For the reason that quite many people don't understand english well, I have made a speechless video added by step by step description in the text (video description) so people can just copy the text and paste it into their translators.
If one ROM that you have flashed bootloops on the logo just try another ROM. It happens sometimes. Important is that you should always before flashing another ROM make full wipe: (data/factory reset/cache/dalvik) in your recovery mode.
Did you do it?
Please let me know if you were successful, it should work now! Good luck :fingers-crossed:
It works!
Thanks everyone for your feedback!!!
and my apologies for late response.
I followed the advise to (re)flash stock rom and it worked!
After that i rooted it again, installed another recovery and now have the latest stock rom working perfectly.
For those who get the same problem and the tabled keeps rebooting - just plug it into recharger and keep the on/off button until it turns off. Then you can fully charge it before you attempt to flash rom.
Once again, thanks a lot!
PS. now i am considering installing CM10.1

Great! Congratulations
Yes, install CM10.1.1 with gapps for 4.2.2 it works great, all the functions. Just mind that you can not restore nandroid backups made with other kernel, (sometimes also not if done with older CWM recovery version) and also apps backups made by Titanium backups in older systems aren't good idea to restore once you upgrade to CM10x
If you want to return for any reason to your old (current) ROM, do the same procedure like by unbricking

Big problem with Galaxy S SCL i9003. Phone won't exit from Recovery with ROOT. HELP!!

Hi, I have a big problem with my Galaxy S SCL i9003.
From last week everything was working good, but something happened.
The camera stop working. Hours and hours searching and I find the solution but I need root.
Ok, I make root and surprise, the phone doesn't want to exit from CWM Recovery.
I tried installing ROMs, and the f*cking recovery won't let me do it. I tried with a ROM from a Spanish forum, it was installed all correctly and then another time, the damned recovery.
I tried to install a lot of ROMs, a lot of things from XDA-Developers, now even won't let me to install any ROM.
I do with Odin several times reflashing with original FW and it works by the way... But I need to be root to make my camera work, because I need to replace some system files :crying: :crying: :crying:
Please, what can I do ?!? If I root with Odin everytime my phone won't exit from recovery and the damn recovery even let me install a rom, so I need another time to flash to original FW and well... I can use the phone but I can't use the camera :crying: :crying:
¿What can I do? I tried with 3 different recoveries, all of them are quite old (the newest is from 2012) and I want to know if exists an newer version for my phone. I need to root it, but if I try everytime with Odin and do all good, everytime my phone bricks in Recovery. Whatever I do it's the same... it doesn't exit from recovery mode until I flash to stock FW.
Big thanks in advice. :good:
If you flash stock rom and the camera still dont work i think is hardware problem related. Fresh installation of Stock rom should fix All software related problems.

Hi friend thx for the reply, the thing is that im on stock rom and all goes good, but the problem is I want to root it to solve the camera problem.
I searched on the web and several i9003 and i9001 have this issue when they're updating or when they've been updated... I can solve it changing some files on system but I can't have root access :crying:
I think your problem is related to recovery.
You can flash Bam Kernel via Odin. I'm
using it. Download the latest fix version and
flash it in pda. It has CWM & it will root the
device.
