Titanium backup - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

Why is it when I back up with tibu, flash a new ROM, then restore my tibu backup I have all the apps I have deleted and uninstalled show up in my app drawer again?

Are you referring to apps that you actively download from the Play Store or preinstalled apps built into the rom? Provide an example or three of apps that you see this occur with.

Gotcha. Now, have you deleted those app backups from within TiBu? Before reinstalling apps, they would appear in your Backed up/Uninstalled filter.
Edit: And is it possible that your Google Restore is bringing any of those apps back? When you flash a new rom, before signing in via the initial set-up wizard, usually Settings/Backup & Reset/"Back up my data" and also the "Automatic Restore" tabs are enabled. Unchecking both of those options then signing into your Gmail will also ensure nothing is auto-restored.

I've always gone into that same list, tapped the app I no longer needed, and selected delete in the popup box. I usually only delete one or two app backups. I'm just now noticing there's a Batch action/Batch delete if you scroll ALL the way to the bottom lol if you can't tell I've never used that before.

Uninstall Titanium Backup (system app)

So I installed a CM9 ROM and it has Titanium backup pre-installed as a system app, how do I TOTALLY remove it? I tried deleting it from /system/app. Where are the rest of it's files?
question...why are you trying to delete it?
And after deleting it from system/apps what other files are you taking about?
sent from my Galaxy Nexus running official Jelly Bean!!!!
I just want to uninstall it. No specific reason.
What files? That's exactly what I'm asking

interesting. titanium is pretty much the only app with enough power to uninstall completely most other apps. its like what would you use to clean the inside of a bottle of bleach? different bleach? lol
also not sure what you mean by 'rest of its files'? delete it from system/app/ and then reboot.
Have you tried Links2SD, it also has super powers similar to Titanium Backup, and will allow you change it from a system app to an user app, and then to uninstall it.

Have you read that you are answering a post from july? There is no need to revive such an old thread to increase your post count.
Actually. This is still an issue. I'll try that app. Thanks a lot

[Q] how to Remove unnecessary programs from fallout 5.0?

I want to Remove google Plus, google Maps,Google books and other unnecessary stuff from Fallout 5.0 but when I delete with the program " system app remover " all these programs I can't receive SMS messages anymore. can anybody help me with these problems?

I have removed Google+ and Books with no problems.. most likely deletion of something in the 'other unnecessary stuff' is the problem.

The OP asked about doing this on Fallout - which comes pre-rooted.
One or more of the apps you're removing must be necessary after all, I think. But then, I don't know exactly which system apps you're removing.

I'll do that,tnx

It won't help you. If you're going to freeze exactly the same programs as you tried to delete - you'll get the same results, something won't work. The reason, as stated, is that you just don't know that something is useful and remove it.
Yeah to delete Google+ or Twitter. I can only delete the updates.

Titanium Backup Question

What does the option in tibu "detach from market" do when I long press on an app?
Sent from my MB870 using Tapatalk 2
From their faq: not want to update a specific app?
Yes. Just long-click on an app in the Titanium Backup list and hit “Detach from Market”.
I guess it removes the association that it was installed from the play store and therefor won't offer you updates

Be careful, some of those system apps will wreak havoc if you delete them. I would search the internet for a list of the safe to remove ones.
