[Q] lost sms & call data on reboot/pulling out battery - Galaxy 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hi guys
am running on kyrillos 9.6 with sdext partition. few days back all apps on sdext were not loading, so i rebooted phone few times but it still wouldnt load, then it got stuck on boot logo so i had to pull the battery. after that it wouldnt go past the boot logo, till i removed the sd card, then i went it to CWM recovery & did the fix permissions option. after a lot of trial error & reboots now finally my phone comes on but all the settings are back to the default that the rom came with, my sms/call logs/contacts have disappeared. apps on sd card ext also are not loaded but now i feel that may be caused by corrupted partition & i can live with reformatting & reinstalling them but how do i recover sms's?
i checked in \data\com.android.providers.telephony\databases\mmssms.db but its a few kb in size & seems blank
is there any way to recover?
TIA

anyone??

[Q] All apps keep Force Closing, can't save to SD card

Im having real problems with my Nexus S on 2.3.4 rooted
When I start it up I just get constant force close messages from a load of apps, including system apps. I cant use the phone at all because everything crashes. I've not really made any changes apart from manually flashing the 2.3.4 update and thats been running stable for about a week
I figured I would try and flash a new ROM and/or go back to stock 2.3.1 ROM which I found in the forums here to fix it but whatever I save to my SD Card does not appear in clockwork recovery when I select "Install from zip"
I then tried to copy the ROM again which was showing on the phone through windows explorer, then when I unplugged the cable and plugged it back in, the file had disappeared and any files/folders I created on the SD Card have gone.
Any help would be much appreciated
edit*
All of the apps crashing seem to complain about the database. Im getting SQLiteExceptions from everything, either unable to find file or cannot write to a read-only database
I've tried to lock/unlock the boot loader, wipe everything via recovery (clockwork and stock) and factory resets but everytime i restart, its always the same as if i haven't wiped and the errors keep on coming
grateful for any help
i think these problems are all linked to being unable to save to the sdcard/internal storage. Is there a way to flash a rom without using the internal storage? say have it linked to the PC and do it from there?

[Q] Crash of random applications and app data deleted.

Hey,
I booted up my phone this morning but the boot animation stucked and I had to reboot it. When the phone booted up again, all my personal data was wiped, and all the applications I launched, except for my launcher, crashed after a second. And even if I touch nothing, random apps start crashing. I can't even run TB to backup things. Since most of my app data is on a partition of my SD card, I tried to put it on my PC but only the 'multimedia data' part mounted correctly.
Is there anything I can do apart from flashing a new row and wiping everything ? Maybe accessing it from my PC ? Or do something from CWM ?
My phone is running Kyrillos 9.7.1 with G3 Mod Non-Oc.
^It seems to me that there's something wrong with your partition.
Just format and repartition your sd card to fix any corruption issues!

Help system memory problem

I downloaded roehsoft ram expander from the play store and started to use, but I don't know what I did, but I have messed up my phone I selected swap dir/partition and selected !partition! Mmcblkop26-1.15gb, after I had selected and pressed ok my phone restarted and went to boot animation which was really laggy and it restarted again came up with HTC screen then boot animation when my phone finally had loaded it had factory reset it self, I set it all back up and I found that my internal memory was really low it was total space 128mb which is incorrect I went into my file manager and I have access to my SD card three ways mnt/sdcard, storage/primary/legacy, storage/sdcard0. The file manager now by default goes to storage/primary/legacy which it should go to mnt/sdcard.
I am really confused at what to do I tried reinstalling the Rom and that did not work I think I may have swapped the partitions or something but my sdcard is not partitioned. Every time I reboot my phone it has factory reset itself so it can't hold on to data if you reboot.
Please help I hope you understand all of this and it's a quick fix.
I have also found out that recovery does not recognize data as a partition it just displays
System
Cache
Sdcard
Recovery says E: unknown volume "/data"
Please someone help I have tried looking around but what keywords do you put in google. Recovery doesn't know volume so it says it's formatted but it's not I am so confused.

[Q] Bricked my phone formatting system, Unbricked, But now Mounts2sd mucks up phone!!

Ok heres the story (its not too long don't worry)-
But I URGENTLY need help to fix it please please.
I have an LG GT 540.
I got it 2months ago, and it came as factory standard, and on LG's android 1.6 operating system (so unusable basically).
Over the 2months I managed to upgrade it to a Cyanogen 4.2.1 custom rom, managed to learn how to partition my SD card into fat32 & ext2 and then installed Mounts2sd and used it to freeup space on phone.
(The phone comes with only 138mb storage, so is unusable without mounts2sd quite simply).
The phone was constantly freezingup everytime I tried to load any app ever,
but after clicking the 'Fix Permissions' tab in the recovery menu, it was all working fine and everything was working fine.
HOWEVER as 1 thing wasn't working on an app I love, and re-installing the app didn't fix the issue, I decided to wipe the whole phone, reinstall the ROM and try re-installing the app then.
But when trying to clear and wipe everything from the phone, in addition to clicking data wipe/cache wipe/dalvik cache wipe, I also clicked on the buttons saying ''Format system / Format SDcard / Format sd-ext''.
When I tried to reboot phone it was bricked, as had no boot screen logo, just was plain dark screen.
I fixed this by removing sd card from phone, putting it into laptop, placing the Cyanogen 4.2.1 rom file directly onto the sdcard, placing sd back into phone, rebooting into recovery menu, and then re-installing the ROM from the sd card.
However I now have a massive issue in that whilst the phone will now work without Mounts2sd installed (well it works but I cant install any apps as no space to do that),
As soon as I install Mounts2sd on the phone and try to use it, whilst it does freeup the memory its meant to, it totally mucksup the entire phone by making every app freeze, making phone not turn off straight away when clicked to... ect
I have removed sdcard, re-partitioned it on my laptop into Fat32 & Ext2, re-installed the ROM multiple times, and then re-installed mounts2sd on the fresh rom and tried to use it,
But everytime I try it just screwsup the phone and makes all the apps and everything on the phone freeze!!
Ive now wiped all data/cache/dalvik,
re-flashed that cyanogen rom onto the phone again (mustve done that 50x now in last 2months),
and am about to try formatting the sd card again on my laptop, then re-partitioning it to Fat32 & Ext2.
But before I re-install Mounts2sd and get the exact same issue all over again,
please please can someone tell me how I can fix this or what im doing wrong??
And so how exactly I can install Mounts2sd back onto my phone again, but without it messingup the whole phone and making everything on it freeze?
Thankyou soooo much inadvance

Link2SD hangs phone

Hello. I've been using Link2SD to link apps to my ext4 SD card partition with no problems, but yesterday I deleted some system apps and now, after booting and showing the lock screen (I can unlock and use my phone for a few seconds) the screen turns black, but it's still on because I can see the backlight on, nothing responds, even the bottom bar with the triangle, circle and square buttons dissapear.
I hold the power button and it does nothing, I have to force power off by holding the power button, and when I turn it on again, it boots normally, then shows a "Android is optimizing applications",, after aprox 15 mins optimizing apps, it boots normally , and then hangs with the black screen again, and the loop continues unless I remove the SD card and none of my linked apps shows (thats why I guess the problem is with Link2SD).
Can anyone help me here? I don't know if there is any way to log things that happen before the phone hangs, and never had this problem before, so I'm kinda lost here.
I deleted the apps "My consumer cellular" and "My extras", without making a backup first, and I don't know what's their real function. Maybe all this is happening because I deleted them? Because the other are Google apps that I don't think will cause this issue.
I attached the apps that I removed before the problem started.
Thanks for any help.

Wow, glad someone can help me!! Yes! I wiped both partitions using TWRP recovery. Right now I'm experimenting with wiping the ext4 partition (I backed it up) and link some new apps to see if the problem persists. If not, I'll copy all my old apps from the backup and try to boot again.
Strange problem, if the problem persists after all that, I guess I'll have to flash the ROM like you did.
Edit: I noticed an issue that happened to me me before while copying files from the ext4 partition. There were 2 files that I could not copy because of an error, the same error happened to me before with this phone while I was copying apps files from the SD card (FAT partition, using the normal "Move to SD card" Android button). Those file that I could not copy were causing my SD to be unmounted after boot, and I would mount it again and after some seconds, unexpectedly unmounted again!
I can't copy all the files to the ext4 partition, probably the mounting software I'm using is doing something wrong, because I copied the full sized folder from it to my pc. I'll have to reinstall all the apps, but at least my phone won't be hanging again (I hope!).
Did flashing you ROM again solved all the issues for you? Doing that wipes data? I've never flashed another ROM.

If flashing the stock ROM or a custom ROM will solve the problem.
hint:
If you want to do backup applications, you can use the AutoMoto! "Backup / APP" This option is being tested, but so far did not matter with me.
