[APP][2.3+] Miniature Preview Camera released - Android Apps and Games

Hi,
Today I have released free camera app named "Miniature Preview Camera".
Miniature Preview Camera
The following is a link to apk.
View attachment 2373645
You can capture miniaturized photo with real time preview.
Miniaturized photo is created by so-called tilt shift effect. However,beautiful miniaturized photo also requires good photo composition and objects which matches up with tilt shift effect. So this app offers real time preview of tilt shift effect. You can capture the best miniaturized photo while you are watching result of effect.
It also offers test for EDIT mode which makes you to add tilt shift effect to the image in gallery.
This is my first camera app.
I am worried the fact that behavior of android camera is very dependent on the device.
So I would appreciate if you could try it and give me some feedback.

Care to add the apk for those who cannot access the Play Store? Thank you.

It works very well on Sony Xperia Z1.
Nice little app, thank you.

Works on Nexus 4 but crashed after a while when I adjusted the tilt shift effect.

Thank you for problem report. It really helps me.
Some of them may be caused by not difference of camera but GPU... It is tough to debug problem which I cannot reproduce but I will try.

Hi hasbrobot,
Thank you for your feedback. I worked on this issue with the highest priority.
I have released version1.2 and I think this issue has been fixed. If you still have interests in this app, I would glad you could try again.

Hi unknown25,
It is good to hear the fix. And yes, this app requires lots of computing power and can be slow on some devices. Implementing performance improvement needs a little time but I will do it in next major update.

Doesn't focus in nexus 4. Thanksssss

Hi gyokzoli, luiseteyo
Thank you for your report. I will get Nexus4 and try it.

Can you post the apk in the first post for those of us preferring not to use the Play Store? Thanks in advance.
Edit: App works fine on CM10, only issue is preview is stretched.

Crashed on LG G2 (D802) when trying to adjust zoom slider. Worked when adjusting effect slider. Picture captured.

The Play store says this app isn't available for my phone (Nexus 4). I can find it using the play store app either, only the Pro version.

Instagram on Android- Picture Quality ***Fixed in 4.1 and alternate fix on page 7***

Hi, I know a lot of you hate on Instagram so please move on.
I was looking at my pictures and found that Instagram was destroying my pictures a little bit in excess of what I would normally find respectable for such a software.
So today I took a picture I shot with my 5DMKII (DSLR) and did the following...
I took my I9300, open instagram, applied no filter and this is what came out:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Then I used a iPod 4th gen I got today for cheap and did the SAME thing, this is what came out:
WTF is wrong with the Android app ? Is this a SGSIII issue or is everyone on Android affected. This is really horrible.
This is the same picture using Eyeem : http://www.eyeem.com/thumb/h/682/5555a77bfa5ad9e6b13e91398485d5b6b188f2b0-1347659393
This is the original picture I used : http://goo.gl/hMun0
Err is it my eyes? I don't see any differences bro, could you describe it on words?
Sent from my LG-P940
i see that the picture from the ipod comes out sharper, as you can see it looks less pixelated.
I've come across this at one point in my own head, like maybe its an android affected problem.
I, too, have noticed this, and am starting to believe a conspiracy is growing. My pictures look incredible on my phone, then once I upload them to instagram....its pixelated. I have found that screenshots are even worse.
Maybe, its the type of image it gets saved as in the phones directory. Can anyone confirm this?

I believe it's a compression issue

Look at it on a computer. Full size. It's horrible the Instagram pictures have jagged edges all over the picture.
Instagram app for android uploads a crappy downsized version of the modified original. What I do is go to the Instagram folder with my favorite gallery browser where you'll find the hi-res version and upload that one instead.

The quality of that one still sucks and is not on par with the iOS version.
I've sent an email to instagram, will see what they have to say.
what about taking it with the normal camera app? that way we can see if they are helping iOS
I have noticed that too. It sucks makes my edits look horrible.

I think that a lot of apps are gonna be better on ios because they only got one phone to work with as oppose to android.. so many freakin phones that do the same things.

Plain and simple, Instagram on android is useless. It ruins every pic it touches.

Ok. I have seen the BIG difference. I used my wife's iPhone4S and mine, uploaded the same image shot in my phone and guess what, a bit disappointment for my phone, as if my camera is just a 3.5-5.0MP camera? And the one I uploaded on the 4S was the original quality of my phone which is an 8.0MP.
Ok Instagram you must fix this, my wife is now insulting me right now!:banghead:

Yeah it's a shame that no big blogs are speaking about this IMO. This is one major issue on a major app.
The issue is motly with aliasing it seems, I'm no dev but I have a hard time understand why this would happen.
Still waiting for Instagrams answers.
By the way the result is the same on my TF201 and my Girlfriends HTC One X.
I indeed have noticed the horrible image quality when uploading pics from my Galaxy Note, whether they are pics I've taken with my phone, or pics I made on my PC, quality is unacceptable!
Instagram, even if you have to charge $1 for a PRO version of your app, as long as the images weren't "destroyed" by compression, I'd gladly pay for it!
This was actually fixed with version 3.2.0 released today.
This was process on Android with 3.2.0 on both my Prime and I9300 the output is the same :
I also just posted this image from my DSLR and it's perfect.

Face2Gif is the fastest way to create your own animated gifs right from your phone or tablet! It's perfect for reaction gifs (reaction faces), and time-lapse shots. If you have been on 9gag, tumblr recently, you probably have seen one of these pictures.
This app uses your front camera to record your face, and converts it into an animated gif picture to share with your friends, on your blog, and just everywhere!
The app is newly released so please bear with me in fixing all the bugs, please report if the app crashes or does something nasty!
Inspired from hdragomir.github.io/facetogif by Horia Dragomir.
Features:
-Create animated gif "reaction faces" with ease
-Share it to other apps and instant messaging
-Upload it online!
-Apply effects like Caption or Vignette to the picture
-Gallery to view your gifs
-Change FPS, the quality of the picture, and if you want to repeat the animation
Permissions:
-Camera: To record
-Internet: Admob ads (version without the ads coming soon, I promise!)
-Storage: Save the pictures to external storage (/Pictures/Face2Gif)
Get it here!
Play Store
Please give any comments on the app here(design, praises, hate mails...). It would really help out on the development of the app.
Just released an update that should fix a lot of crashes. Anyway, please give any feedback here! I would really appreciate it!

Great app so far! Easy to use, minimal permissions needed (that's good), decent interface. Fantastic work.
Constructive criticism: Use of the normal (rear camera) would be nice and maybe a setting to change the location of where the finished gif's get stored. Besides that, love it.

Thank you! Rear camera is def. an upcoming feature, and I will look into alternate URLs for the gifs.
It crashes when trying to share with Gmail too. The only option to export the gif file so far that has worked is Dropbox.
Besides minor FC when trying to share.... Very nice app... As far as wanting to use the rear camera I'll wait for the new app to do so...
Some criticism would be for the future:
A lot of users aren't willing to install 2 apps that will do the same thing only to be able to use the front and back camera...& changing the name of the application isn't really necessary if u include the ability to use the back camera just keep the front camera as default...
Otherwise great app Google + be ready for some more GIFs lol

[App][2.3+] Portrait Lens: Stand Out!

Portrait Lens for Android Creates DSLR Focus Effect in Flat Photos
What’s the difference between a snap taken with a phone’s camera and a photograph made with a professional lens? It’s the DSLR focus effect when the important object is focused on and the background is blurred. It makes a photo look beautiful and natural. A new photo manipulation app called Portrait Lens lets you create the DSLR focus effect in photos that you have taken with the mobile phone’s camera.
Here’s how you can create the DSLR focus effect. To begin, take a snap or select a photo from the gallery. The next step is to create a mask by dragging your finger around the area you want to focus on and the background you want to blur out. No matter how complex the shapes of an object could be, the application recognizes the focus area and applies the effect. It also uses a soft finish to incorporate the blur into the photo without making it look sloppy. Once done, you can save the output photo in the desired resolution (up to 3 megapixels). If necessary, you can change settings such as sharpness/blurring and saturation separately for the background and subject.
Effects (separately for the background and foreground):
- brightness, hue, and saturation;
- sharpen and blur;
- reduce noise;
- pencil sketch.
Effects for the background:
- motion blur (value and angle).
Effects for the original image:
- auto levels;
- auto tone.

Installed it to try it.I started the quick tutorial that appears when you first run it. It doesn't get past this screen. None of the buttons work to advance the tutorial.
If I press back, I can use the application normally. But you might need to look at fixing the tutorial getting stuck. Unless that's all there is?
Works fine for me, including tutorial.
Tutorial and integration with the camera and gallery is actually quite well polished

I was just on Google+ discussing apps that create effects and whether they are good or bad for the photography industry.
That is another topic in itself but then I saw a post for this. I think this is a very promising app. Going to give it a test drive now.

Camera app with separate exposure and focus

Does anyone know of a camera app that allows for separate exposure and focus. There are tons of option on iOS that do this (Camera+, Camera Awesome, etc...). On my jailbroken iPhone 4s I was even able to tweak the stock camera to do this.
I was thrilled to see Camera Awesome finally come to Android, only to learn that this feature is not supported on the Moto X.
I thought this might be a shortcoming of the underlying android camera functionality, but Camera Awesome lets you do this on the HTC One. Is this somehow limited by specific manufacture? I'm willing to pay for this feature, but I can't find an app that let me do this on the Moto X.
I've tried Camera Zoom FX, which lets you use the volume rocker to adjust exposure. But thats just not the same as being able to touch what you want in focus, then touch where you want to meter the exposure.
I also looked at Camera FV-5, and Vignette. There are both decent apps, but nothing I've found lets you use a 2-finger tap to separate focus selection and exposure.
Does anyone know how to bring this to the Moto X?

No, I didn't realize that. Looking at the camera now (I have version 3.1.5) I don't see a way to do that. The only setting that is close it being able to set the focus point. If I try to tap and hold, or drag my finger to set a different exposure point it just takes mulitple photos.
How do you get an exposure square to show up?
If it matters I'm on Republic Wireless with Android 4.2.2. Is that the issue?
Thanks for the help!
Look for Focal in the play store
It's buried a bit in the app's settings but it is there

Yes that is the issue. This functionality is added in 4.4
Im running 4.4 with Camera version 3.1.41 and it has it....
4.4 has this feature? How do you separate exposure from focus? I see that I can drag the circle around, but isn't that setting both the exposure AND the focus? OP wants to set exposure and focus on separate points.

Although it is still in beta, "focal" in the app store is free and awesome and has separate focus and exposure points. It is buggy but gives you a ton of control.

As others have mentioned, the app Focal. Just make sure you set the image size correctly, or you'll get a blank pic.

I am using the app Camera -FV-5
Excellent acm app with the feature you are looking for and more.

4.4 has this feature? How do you separate exposure from focus? I see that I can drag the circle around, but isn't that setting both the exposure AND the focus? OP wants to set exposure and focus on separate points.

I swear by Snap Camera!

Camera app?

This camera is nice but missing some options I really liked and used a lot. I had some nice cameras in the past on custom ROMs. Anybody know of any camera apps that give you more options? I'm looking for when you take a pic you can filter out certain colors. Not sure what the features are really called.
How bout Google camera.

Thanks. I have that one. Works nice but doesn't have the filter options.

Personally by far the best is 'A Better Camera'.
Besides being totally manual in its controls it has an immense amount of settings you can apply.
It's the only app that controls not just exposure and white balance but ISO as well.
Camera FV-5 shows it too can change ISO but the second you use it you soon notice the ISO never actually changes in the shot taken.
When you use A Better Camera ensure you swipe the screen twice to gain access to the options for each swipe.
How about camera 360?

If anyone is looking for a camera app that has lots of effects I found camera 2 and it's pretty cool.

Interesting.... I can see Metering, White Balance, Exposure and ISO.
Anything else?
Unfortunately the developer has not released a free or trial version thus making it difficult to download, especially when you have A Better Camera and Camera FV-5 to try before buying.
If it were based on filters alone I would chose the free and very good Camera 360 app.
However, I am always on the lookout for a great camera app and have not tried Camera 2.

I actually never heard of it. Went to best buy yesterday and I guess someone had installed it on an s5. So I tried it there and then bought it. It has those settings and pic effects. You should be able to buy and try it. Then if you don't like it you can refund. I've done that with many apps. I believe as long as you do the refund in I think 15 min

Thanks... You are right it is 15 mins and to be honest that's nowhere near enough time to try a camera app out.
Don't get me wrong, it may be a very good app but with only a 15 minute returns window on apps that obviously need much longer to test I wish it were mandatory for developers to offer you trials or lite versions.
Until then I'll pass but I'm very pleased you found an app you are happy with.
