Wanted to get an S4 but now I've decided to hold on to this until the S5 comes out early next year. The (rumoured) specs were leaked a few days ago. Apparently it will have a metal exterior instead of the usual Samsung plastic. The LG G2 looked tempting but I'm not keen on devices with a built-in battery anymore.

in my country,lg optimus 4x cost around 220 usd now,which very tempting for me,i can sold this device around 188 usd and add just few bucks for it.
but i swore to myself that i won't change another phone for 1 year or more(since i just changed from lumia 620 this april),so i gonna keep this,till next year i guess.
but,if i gonna change,it will be a google nexus device(i recently brought a nexus 10,it's amazing!!!) ,or sony device(when xperia zl/zr drop to affordable price)

Alright guys I can only afford to buy one nexus 4 this holiday , I am currently using a Galaxy nexus , I ordered one 16gb N4 for my gf because she is still using an iPhone first generation...... I don't mind to skip this nexus generation for her and I hold on to my Gnex for another year. So, what would you do ? Would you guys do the same?

Imo, if you really like her and have a strong relationship, buy it for her. You'll be much happier overall, and the nexus 4 isn't a revolutionary upgrade from the gnex anyhow.

If she isn't really a tech lover and only cares about messaging and some basic stuff maybe you can give to her your gnexus and let the n4 for yourself, anyways if you want to make a surprise I think that you should give it to her.

Note 2 is fine. But its a matter of personal preference if you want to carry with you a such a huge device

HTC One X is my next phone. I can't get enough of the sense software and my Desire HD is looking doubtful for anything past ICS. I have several friends with that device which I have rooted for them and flashed custom rom and was amazed by how powerful the phone can be.
At the moment I'd like to buy HTC Butterfly, but waiting for M7

Some would prefer the S4 to the Nexus 5 and others prefer the Nexus 5. Do your research and watch some reviews and then decide.

Im jumping from my note 3 to the nexus 5 so I'd say yes, definetley from the S4. You just can't compare android phones with pure bred Google phones.
My main concern with nexus 5 is how will be battery life. I wish there was a model with 3000 mah like lg g2,but it didn't happened.
I also have a s4, hopefully my n5 comes tomorrow.. And I'll use its camera to take pictures of my s4 to put on eBay

Is your S4 a Google Play Edition? Why do you want the Nexus 5?
If you want the N5 for Android 4.4 I would wait for the update to come for your S4.

My first piece of advice is get it from google and not your carrier if possible. Google sells it cheaper than any carrier I've seen. Secondly, Since you have the s4 you might want to wait. Essentially the only things being upgraded for you (objectively speaking) is the Processor chip and OIS for the camera. Everything else is either equal or lesser. In your case, I would only suggest upgrading if updates are of importance for you. If they aren't wait for the next big smartphone release.
My son is going to use my s4 I have found a 4g contract deal that comes with a n7 free cheaper than my s4

I would say go for it if it's a good deal.
Since your son will be using the S4 then you would need a phone and the N5 will be a good but not amazing upgrade hardware wise, though software wise imo is far superior to TW.
