[ROM][OCT 11] FirefoxOS 1.2 and 1.3 - Nexus 7 (2013) Android Development

Introduction
Firefox OS, also known as Boot2Gecko, is a lightweight mobile OS made by Mozilla, based around HTML5. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Firefox_OS
This is an unofficial build of FirefoxOS for flo and deb.
What does not work:
MTP
Mobile data (on LTE version of N7)
Not really smooth
Installation
These ZIP files act like an Android ROM, so the installation is the same as usual - do a factory reset in recovery and flash the ZIP file.
Downloads

Version 1.3 (in development): b2g_flo_1.3_20140207.zip

Going in my multirom now!

any chance to support LTE version?
thanks

Thank you so much for this. I tried to look at doing it myself but had not had time to fully read and figure it out. Can't wait to see this in action.

It supports DEB, there's just no LTE signal.

it won't boot. I get a pink screen. Could it be the host kernel I use? I thought this would load whatever kernel was in the new ROM. I use glitch kernel for latest CM nightly.

No, bluetooth does not work. It acts as if it would, but it won't find any devices.
Why wouldn't I put system and data in one file? It belongs together, /system contains gecko.

But webapps contain in /data/local/webapps ?
or /system/b2g/webapps on your build?

Those are just apps, gecko itself is in /system/b2g, and I suppose it differs between firefoxOS versions.

@Tasssadar
easier to make flashable zip
extract this file into B2G/out/host/linux-86
and run
Code:
./build.sh otapackage

Just got it running in multirom, works alot better then i expected! Thanks Tassadar, this will be fun to play around with :silly:

I too finagled this to work with MultiROM!! Thanks Tassadar, this is pretty baller.

Nice @Tasssadar !
I'll flash this once I get home and give her a whirl.

Don't know if anyone else said this but if you try to use the notification bar in 1.3, it will just stay down and won't go away. I know it is in development. Also can we flash a custom kernel for it that does not use the Kexec patch?

[DEV] xDEOS-CyanogenMod-9.0.0-UNOFFICIAL (ICS 4.0.3 and 4.0.4 for U8150) [01/04/12]

IMPORTANT
THREAD MOVED HERE
MOTIVATION
Welcome in the official thread of the project. This post is made to let discover you why this project is born. We are two universitary students that want more about a new branch of th IT Area, the Embedded OS Porting. We have a particular device, the HUAWEI IDEOS U8150, so our port is in this direction.
So don't ask to us why we are porting this version of Android with this device, because this project starts for educate ourself to the porting of Android OS, in particular we are oriented to port CyanogenMod ver 9. We made research to define a good porting for this device, so all the support ,moral, technical and economic(we need more RAM and CPU frequency) is really appreciated. We are also thinking to port, after this ROM Porting, the MIUI v4.
We work to create a stable ROM that could enjoy all great people that have this device. We think that newest releases of Android could run on this kind of mid-low level devices, so we make all the possible to complete this work.

CyanogenHalo - CyanogenMod with HALO
This is a clean CyanogenMod with HALO features included - ported from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2253129
Based on CM10.1 Nightly 2013-06-30
Issues:
Since: always --- android.process.media crashes -> so no USB connection. You have to sideload another ROM/MOD
Since: CM2013-06-30 --- Trebuchet Searchbar doesn't work. Was directed to new "Search" app which crashes. Voice-search DOES work.

Why would you odex an aosp rom? Ive never seen that done. Also why cant you compile? Seems like you're making things Harder on yourself by not compiling from source

you can disable the noscreen buttons.
You have to decompile framework-res.apk (afair) and edit the bools.xml file.
Sorry, I just know this method for a compiled rom. But I hope it will help you
I can't compile because:
I don't have Linux (CM Wiki says you need it)
My Motherboard doesn't support VT-x for 64-bit VM's so no Virtual Ubuntu
-------------------
I know how to disable the buttons, but still, NFC service crashes and the ROM is unusable

What about a dual boot? Or a wubi install if you have windows.
I would never suggest a VM for compiling, It would be way too laggy that way.

Therefore I asked someone to build my ROM. (maybe you?)

Looks like Cellular part doesn't work. Reboot on setup screen, and endless searching when looking for providers.
Am wondering if this has an apns-conf.xml?
Baseband isn't installed?
Never mind, apns-conf is included.
Also notice it only has 2 and 3g capability, even if it worked. No LTE
Screen rotation doesn't work and gets stuck in portrait mode when Hangouts opened.
Wifi drops out and will not auto-connect (sporadic)
Camera Forces closes
GPS doesn't work (locations doesn't work with wifi either)
Seems these issues are also on the Z2 Phone.
Unfortunately no builds for Castor Windy (SGP 511/512) yet
Also, a bit more info in the OP would be appreciated, such as what works and what doesn't.

Ive also noted on the downloads page there are 2 download files with the same file name. However, when zip opened, the file image sizes are different.
Are they indeed 2 different builds? After redownloading, it is indeed so. Pity there isn't a date before downloading. (I know why)
Oh yes, one more thing. Adfly needs to go. It's fair enough I paid for the premium speed, but the adfly is against the rules.

Hi there,
Any chance to see a 4.4 AOSP for the Z2 tablet ?
I'd like to use XPosed but that can't be done in LOL I think...
I know that there is a CM 11 for the Z2 Tablet... but some features I'd like to get on my Tablet using Gravity Box won't work as the things are modded by CM (i.e. : the QuickSettings)
AOSP exists for the Z2 Phone... why not for the Tablet ?
If needed, I have a running Linux VM to build it myself... but have not been really succesful so far
Regards.
are there any AOSP, not cm12 prebuild images?
ok, found them, i can see 2 caster with the same date, which is the castor windy?
There is no version for Castor_Windy yet...

Edit,
My bad sorry thought you were a noob posting about a new KonstaT build , i just looked at the original Modaco thread and there hasn't been a new build since 26/08/2014 by KonstaT, So is this your build? I hope so as would love to see more people working on this ROM,
The op seems quite confusing as the first line says, originated posted by KonstaT??? Sorry for my mistake

I use the last KonstaT build (26.8.), I download, build gecko (32.0a2 to 32.0), gaia (2.0.0-prerelease to 2.0.0) with more supported language and the kernel (latest source) but I don't modify gonk (some error on build).

I have GPE 5.0.1 bootloader, I flash stock 4.4.4 rom (without bootloader, you can't) and it's work.
I tried the latest release . Not bad . But in the version of the KonstaT gps works, while in this no . For whatsapp what client do you use?

I know nightly is better for ffos, but I don't have the skill to upgrade the device tree. And with caf, camera don't work, I think is better to rebase all source with cm repo.
I just shared my build with minor update.
Uh....I'll drop this, right here.

If someone makes a new build from my sources (this doesn't count as one though), I'd hope you'd at least have the courtesy of posting it here before posting it somewhere else. I've open sourced my work for a reason and I'd also hope that what ever changes/modifications made, are kept public in the spirit of open source (none of this would be possible without that in the first place).
Few notes on the aledged changes:
1. Update Gecko/Gaia with CAF LNX.LF.3.5.1-11900-8x10.0
2. Add more Gaia languages (ar, fr ,nl, ru, tr, zh-TW)
3. Update kernel with source

1. Sounds about right, but that's all that was changed (only system/b2g directory replaced from my latest build with your favorite zip tool ).
2. Some of these locales are already included by default (ar, fr, zh-TW). The rest won't be included unless you add them to the Gaia configuration (see here and here). I don't see any new locales in your Gaia.
3. Where is the kernel source (it's GPLv2, you're obligated to provide it)? If you're using my kernel source, there hasn't been any changes after my last build. In that case, another no op here.
