No one knows if it is worth it yet, we know absolutely nothing about the device yet despite what everyone thinks.
For N4 users we should at least be gaining LTE. Otherwise, not sure what else we will be gaining until the device gets announced.
Depending on what network your One is on, if you want the latest updates you can always flash a GP edition Rom and then run stock Android.
Hopefully we will find out the N5 details soon.

yea i suppose, i heard it was coming out but now that theres so much leaked info on specs its making me think twice about selling my one.
also another big problem htc one has is that the custom aosp roms r kinda laggy in general unless u use the GE or sense roms. but then u wouldnt be able to get features like halo

i sold mine 2 days ago, tired of the crappy battery, camera and build quality , no nfc for google wallet , im ready for the nexus 5

Short Answer:Yes
Long Answer: if you cant afford to keep both, than Yes, sell the HtC ONE.

Thinking about selling my SGS4...only thing holding me back is the battery, so im going to wait till its released and see how long it lasts...I meam it may be a small battery compared to the S4 but than again its not running all the OEM bloat/its optimized for AOSP...so we'll see

It should last whole day with this tips , and stock android is awsome you wil love it Nexus 5 is good upgrade from galaxy S4

No way keep the aluminum body

Should I buy a G2x?

Should I buy a G2x or buy the Sensation 4G for $40 more? This is the only phone within my budget right now thats dual core, I wish I could get the Galaxy S2 but its nowhere to be found for less than $500 and I dont wanna spend that much.
And is the screen bleed issue appears at a later time or is it there from the beginning? I will look for it when buying but is it a possibility that it could appear at a later time?
Whats a good price for the phone?
Dnt make a mistake by buying g2x no ics update for it

^^^^ don't go spreading lies. Yes it's not coming to g2x from LG, but once we have sources I'm sure we will get ICS. if the NS is able to run it then we will.

I'm happy with mine. Tried sensation and back to g2x, would buy it again. Love this phone

I recommend going to the store, checking out both phones and going from there. Both phones have their issues and positives, so it comes done to which one is more of your liking.
Also I would think there is a higher possibility of the Sensation getting ICS than the G2X so that is def a plus for Sensation.
Good luck.
Hercules Hercules!!
I would get the SGS2 because its newer and it will more than likely get the ICS update. The G2x is a bada$$ phone but if you are looking for the most up to date phone I would get the SGS2.

I'm with the guy above me, I love my G2X but I wouldn't recommend any LG product to anyone at this point.
1) How much would you be spending on the G2X?
2) It's a very powerful, fast phone -- it does have a few software quirks and GPS lock-on isn't the fastest I've seen. Mod ROMs may be helpful.
3) Battery life has been quite good since the Gingerbread update.
4) The G2X may still get ICS from LG as stock, there has been absolutely no announcement regarding it not getting updated and it's just a mass assumption right now since, well, it's LG. Ignore the FUD, though it would be nice if LG would just say yes or no.
You guys don't say why you wouldn't buy it though? I'm getting it for $220 USED but mint condition.
I simply cannot spend 2x that amount for the Galaxy S2, I don't think its worth two times as much especially the Tmobile one with the crappy 1.5ghz Snapdragon processor.
My opinion is... Dont support LG (because they wont support you), buy it used or dont buy it at all
Im buying it used not from the store, thats why its $220... I would pay $220 for the SGS2 but it wont be for that price for atleast another year.

hopefully you don't get one of those that has a faulty chipset, where little to no matter what you do, your phone will reboot, get hot while charging, get frozen on black screen while attempting to wake the phone (screen of death), insane back light bleed... buying this phone used is seriously a shot in the dark as you won't be bale to actually test things out and then be able to return it... I love mine cause I don't have these issues. Others went through 3 or more before they got a good one or just gave up. Good luck to you.

Put your sim in phone and try some GPS. see how long it takes. Also see what baseband its on. Far as reboot issues mine has been 100% flawless and I got it used as well. You can't really test the reboot issues unless it does it right off the bat.

Selling Xperia Ray to buy G2x

Selling Xperia Ray to buy G2x??? what u say ??
One more important question.. is this mobile have any Future?? like ICS comming to it?? because i see t-mobile stopped selling it and its discontinued so.. should i really buy a discontinued phone?? is it really worth it?
If you can get the device under 175 its great bang for your buck. Only be ready to face a few issues like GPS lock, Black Screen of Death (while charging), and random reboots if you haven't updated the baseband to July 2011.
Phone is good, if you figure, if you got a good working one, you will have a sweet phone for the price.
Others might bash it, there are issues, but you have to learn and know your device and which ROM works best. Had it for a year. Still have it. Looking to trade mine for a new device, sorta.

It was announced but they always pull our change. Most people on here will say no. If it does, more than likely it will be released for O2X and then us. There are unofficial ICS roms on XDA but most of them don't have a working video camera (taking pictures works) and some other bugs. As far as bugs... It all depends what you get, I've been lucky enough where I've had zero issues the last year. Others have been plagued by GPS locking issues and random reboots.
It's the best phone in case for development.....its actually better than Stock Galaxy Nexus in my option once the g2x has been rooted and all that....But in whole its a great device......Go for it!!
I love my G2x...now. Stock ROM doesn't work well at all. I believe it's a great phone when rooted and flashed with another ROM. I recommend Cm7.2. I don't have any issues anymore and I love my phone, but I'll never buy another LG phone again.
Hope that helps.

If you want future proof and what not, don't bother with the G2X.
Actually, CM9 and ICS dev has been slow to kick of to all devices. Mainly driver issues, and LG really providing no kind of support. Also the ICS from LG has been delayed to end of the year. My guess is it may never come.
If you want future proof and Vendor/Dev support, you might want to choose another device. When it does work, G2X is great. I think CM7 is best option. CM9 is alive on this device, but because of no device drivers and what not, it won't run as smooth or to its full potential (THANKS LG )

Honestly for the price this phone can't be beat. Just know that you get what you pay for. You're not on the cutting edge and hopefully we'll get fully working ics but there's no guarantee.
It's still relatively cheap for what it is. Web browsing is fast, camera is decent, nice design, pretty good battery life.

Scared to buy because i heard development might be dead.

Im planning to buy it today but after reading threads about how development have been slow and might come to a halt soon. Coming from an HD2 i dont want to buy this phone only for rom development to cease 6 months later. Any reassurance you guys can offer me or should i just stay away?
Can you point to a thread where it was said development might be slowing? It seems to me like development is picking up since the release of the kernel source.
The latest AT&T OTA update might slow things slightly because it blocks the old root and unlocking exploits, but I don't think it's anywhere near dead. Still, I could be wrong. Where did you see this stated?

Did you just say your buying a phone solely on ROM development? If thats the only thing you want then this probably isnt the one for you. Even though IMO its the best phone currently out. Take a look around the forums and see for yourself if the development is up to your standard

Ah, okay. Well, not having had any other Android phone, I don't really know what to compare it to. I've been satisfied with the options available, but I'm not a Flash-aholic. There are a fair number of both Sense-based and AOSP-based ROMs to choose from, and so far none of the devs seem to be going anywhere. But, development will never equal something like the S3 or even the international One X, just because of the smaller userbase.
The other factor to consider is that if you get an AT&T One X today, it might very well come with the 2.20 update, meaning you wouldn't be able to root or unlock it right away.
It's not dead yet but even scrosler said that he will be moving on to another phone if something happens to his One X. AT&T should be ashamed of themselves for locking down this amazing phone. However the enthusiasts aren't their target customers. They don't care enough about losing us to change.
The OP is screwed if he gets a phone with the new software.

Having the same problem with the Tapatalk app.
Also can't get in with any of the XDA apps.
As far as dev being dead. I don't see how. Check out the original development section, the guys are rocking in there and working hard to get things moving. Team Nocturnal is pumping out ROMs and updates for those ROMs. If the ultimate goal of "dev activity" is AOSP, which always seems to be the case, then we are very close.
The sky isn't falling, Chicken Little.
Back when the Captivate came out, people were saying the same thing for the first year the phone was out. Now go check out the Captivate forums. They are still going strong.
I think this has more to do with people not getting what they want RIGHT NOW, than anything else. Everyone wants perfect CM9 and CM10 as soon as they get the phone. It seems like a lot in the community frequently forget that these guys are doing this for free and of their own accord. Sometimes they run into problems like devices being bricked, broken...or not even having the device at all. Sometimes they are kids in HS and have other things on their plates. Not everyone has time to sit infront of a computer and develop for 12+ hrs a day.
I had my SGS2 for a good 6 months before CM9 nightlies came along.
It's also worth mentioning that if you don't at least donate to the devs, you don't really earn the right to ***** about anything.

If you're looking for a phone with development, go get an N1, Galaxy Nexus, Nexus S, etc... We got the HOX because it's the best phone on the market right now, regardless of the development scene. We are all thankful that we have a development scene, of course, but I think we all chose this phone before looking at the existing scene. As the phone matures, the scene will only get better.

I don't really store music on my phone, mostly pictures and videos which take up a lot of space. And if you add in a nandroid or two you + Titanium backup backups you are looking at a phone with no more storage room. Man such a bummer... I had no idea it was only 16g I guess I was looking at the International x and figured it would be the same as far as storage was concerned. Such a beautiful phone to be spoiled by this. It's a great phone, but there isn't a lot of development for it. If you're okay with using stock or a stock based rom and customizing it yourself then you'll love it.
Right now the only options is a rooted versions of the AT&T and WWE versions of the stock rom both Odexed and DeOdexed and MagioRom which is based off the Sense 5 Rom. It's supposed to be getting a lot of changes in the next update (performance and battery improvements as well as the ability to choose which mods you want) which I'm looking forward to. Someone was working on getting CM 10.2 on the One Mini, I sent him a message so I'll let you know what he says when he replies back.

If you want it, I would recommend getting it. It's not that I'm unhappy with the phone itself. It's a lovely phone. My personal opinion is that there's not enough XDA support for it at the moment, availability is a little low and having come from an HTC One S it's not too much of an "upgrade". All of these things should be picking up as the phone becomes more widely distributed. In Canada, the Rogers network is getting this phone soon, and they're going to be releasing the blue versions soon too. I have a feeling as HTC gets everything sorted out, things will pick up.
The phone itself is a good phone, but if you're looking for something that's going to blow you away, it doesn't really.
Battery life of this phone I have found so far to be phenomenal. At 18 hours the phone was at 36% and that's with me talking on the phone for 4 hours on bluetooth, surfing the internet on WIFI and just general tinkering with it.
I would have been preferred to have the Sony Z1f (and maybe I might just do that when it comes out), but at this point and time, this was the best option for me. My cousin picked up the Moto X ... felt kinda cheap.
Anyways, I don't know if that helped you out much, but if you're looking for a phone in THIS size and want it RIGHT NOW, then I'd say go for it. If not, maybe wait for the Sony Z1f.
The forum not alive isn't entirely true. It's not the fault of One Mini so no one get it, you are safe to buy One Mini.
The real problem is One Mini isn't a real upgrade to previous model(One S) which made 95% of folks decided to live with the older model.
I'm an One S user but I want to give Zoe a try. I'll get a Mini later when the price cheaper.

[Q] How to check if Nexus 5 is legit? (real or fake)

Okay, so this is a strange question, but I think that it is worth asking. Are there such things as "fake" Nexus 5's out there? I've heard of all the fake Galaxys out there, but I've never heard of a fake Nexus yet. I'm asking because I am set to buy a white one off of Craigslist tomorrow for $200 and due to my inexperience with this device I figured I'd ask my peers here at XDA. And if you have any hints or tips of what to look for before I buy it, it would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance guys!
If you think it would help I can post or PM a link.
I've never heard of a fake nexus 5, and I doubt what you're about to buy is a fake. That said, even the fake devices (iPhone, Galaxy, etc...) out there are obviously fake, and if you've seen a real one in person, you'll be able to tell. If you're that concerned, just download a system/hardware info app and it'll tell you exactly what hardware you have. I just looked in the play store and found this one- https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dama.hardwareinfo
Anyway, I seriously doubt you have anything to sorry about. Post the link.
Thanks!

Cool, like I said I'm kind of foreign to this device so I didn't know if it was even a possibility so I thought that I had better ask before I "waste" 200 bucks on this thing. I've actually never seen a Nexus 5 in person lol but I like the idea of owning a straight up Google device for many reasons. Anyways thanks a ton for getting back to me on this subject... I was at a loss. The other thing I thought of doing is running the IMEI through a site I found www.IMEI.info. I tested it on my Atrix HD a little while ago and it seemed pretty accurate.

Yeah, it looks legit. Honestly man, you have nothing to worry about. I actually find the concept of a kirf nexus to be pretty humerous. The only real concern is if it's stolen or not but since the ad says it was purchased from the play store, ask them to bring a proof of purchase. I've done that for people before. And ALWAYS put your SIM card in and test it before letting them walk away with your money.
All that said, you're buying an amazing device and you're going to love it. I buy a new phone every few months, and even though I have a 2014 Moto X and an iPhone 6, I still use my N5 regularly. I don't think I've ever kept/used a smartphone past the year mark before, but the N5 is really something special. So yeah, you're gonna be real happy with it.
That's awesome man and thanks again for all of your help. Its really assuring since it seems you're like me with these android devices lol. None of mine have ever lasted more than 6 months before I'm ready to sell one and start rooting and flashing away on something new. And I've always lurked all the forums on here so I knew where to come for such an off key question. Plus it gave me a good reason to look in the N5 development section

Hey no prob bud, happy to help. I think we have a problem lol, I don't know how people can keep a smartphone for 2 years, seems crazy to me. I just got the Moto X and iPhone a couple months ago and I'm already planning on buying the Saygus V2. I will say this though, when the N5 does finally retire, I absolutely will not sell it. It's gonna go in the museum. There's just something about it that makes me want to hang on to it forever. I feel like this is most "nexus" of all the nexus phones. Does that make any sense??? Lol

Wow! I would have never thought that I could an app like the ones you've both found. Thanks, I love the community on XDA, always helpful! I'm going to pick it up at 230 EST today and I'll be sure to use the methods you've both shown me. Wish me luck.

Haha, I wouldn't say we have a problem, but my ex certainly would and has said that. And I definitely don't know how someone could make it 2 yrs, I always do prepaid monthly stuff (atm, Cricket) so it makes it really easy to "flip phones" on Craigslist and keep things interesting for myself. I honestly change so much that I always forget to change what devices I'm using until well after they are gone lol. And WOW, that was the first I've heard of that Saygus so I looked it up and yeah.. I'm speechless. Anyways, this Nexus 5 does seem like the most Googlesque Nexus so far but I've only tinkered with its predecessors. The closest I've come to owning one otherwise was last Winter when I bought an AT&T Optimus G and I LOVED it so I now I really can't wait to swoop up my N5 in a few hours. Anyways... I'm sure I'll see ya around in the forums and if you have any advice on some fun stable ROMS plz PM with me the info.
Why fake a old and cheap device?
I don't know? Maybe bc there's s million fake S4's out there on craigslist and that's an even older and cheaper phone lol... Why ask why?
Anyways, I picked it up earlier and used the Nexus 5 info app and everything is good.. Even under warranty still! I can't keep my hands off the thing, I love it!

Ha, battery life is not as bad as I expected to be honest. I read a lot about the device before I even thought about buying one and from the reviews I read on multiple sites I was kind of worried that it would be TERRIBLE. But actually not too bad considering that I haven't let the screen turn off much since I picked it up earlier. I also expected worse battery life from the sheer performance of this phone.. it is LIGHTNING fast compared to my old G2 and especially my Atrix HD. Tomorrow I'll post a SS of a normal days battery stats if you'd like.

You don't have to appease dicecuber. If you stay on the forums for awhile you'll learn to ignore him.

Glad you like it man, it's an AMAZING device. Any plans on how you're going to mod it? I'm keeping mine on stock KitKat and use Xposed modules to customize it to my liking. I don't know how you feel about Lollipop, but I prefer KitKat by a wide margin.

Yeah really is a fantastic device.. It doesn't really compare to any of the many I've owned! As far as development goes and versions of android, I'm kind of up in the air. I'm not even sure if I want to root it yet(I've only unlocked bootloader so far). I love the look of the official Lollipoop lol but it sounds like ppl say it is WAY harder on the battery life and I think they may be right. I was thinking about just down grading back to KK, but I'm leaning more towards rooting it and flashing a stable KK custom ROM and just theme it to Lollipoop. Got any insight for me on all this?

I don't even do custom ROMs anymore, I'm all about stock. All three of my devices are running stock KitKat, though my N7 does have a custom kernel. I use Xposed for any little features or minor theming I do. I'm sure there are a bunch of great ROMs out there (I used to be a massive fan of anything Scrosler put out), but for me nothing beats the dependability of stock.
