[Q] SD card will not read in ROM - HTC Sensation

My phone is rejecting my SD card for no reason, it has been working but after plugging it into a computer to transfer files it no longer recognizes my memory card,it keeps saying blank or SD card ejected, i know it works as I have flashed to a different ROM and back with no success of getting rid of the issue, it seem that only within a ROM it cannot read it, cheers in advance.

Yeah, ive tried mounting and it will not mount. As i have said it works within recovery and on computer, its just within ROMs that it doesnt work

Try taking the SD card out and re-inserting it while the phone is on and booted into a ROM

Try formatting it. Happened to me long ago and quick format solved it.

remove the card from the phone first. reboot. put the card back in. go and delete all the partitions on your card using your partition program. Recreate the FAT32 and EXT2 partitions.
sd card wont mount/g1 wont....
Maybe the g1 has a headache!
Keep an eye on the sdcard by going to menu.settings.sdcard... that should tell you the status. Re-boot usually gets rid of all my problems if my phone does not read my card for watever reason.

Its been a while since I fooled around with the sdcard and usb... but... I do remember installing some drivers for something or another (let me see what it was and if it is related some how... ) ill get back to you....
ok.thanx.do you mean the adb interface drivers??because i have that installed
try turning on USB debugging
yea, I'm having the same problem. The phone wont read the fat32 partition but it'll read the ext2. Trying to fix it tonight though.
If you are using ubuntu partition editor that will happen.. happened to me a good amount of times. Try formating it on a windows machine as a Fat32 and replug it on linux and it should work. That's what worked for me... took a couple of attempts... good luck!
hope you had backup your sd card
well i got my card working again.i think something went wrong when i partioned it and maybe it had something to do with the theme.i put the dreaimg.nbh and the update folder and luckily the phone read it.so it put me back to jf 1.30 rc30.so then i went back and updated.but as soon as the theme got erased everything went back to normal
Try this if you have windows, it worked for me, finally.
Use disk management:
Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Computer Management
In Computer Management, click "Disk Management" on the left which is under "Storage." In the lower portion on the right, you should see a list of all the volumes. Right-click on the one you want to format and click "Format"
If it is a removeable drive you want to format, use "Removable Storage" under "Storage" instead of "Disk Management."

Thanks to: http://www.hardwareanalysis.com/content/topic/44545/
Yeah, even paragon partition manager was reading it wrong, but windows disk management was able to format it back to fat32 without any problem.

I installed this driver today to do the custom splash screen. And now, my computer does not recognize the phone as a USB storage device.
When I plug in the phone, I get the "mount/don't mount" option. I chose mount. When I go into My Computer, the phones MicroSD card isn't there?
Any ideas?
I just uninstalled the driver and it works fine again.

External SD card doesn't work??

I can not get the external SD card to work. It worked at first when I got the phone but now nothing happens when I try to mount it....I can format it within the phone and it even shows up as the folder "sd" within Astro but I can't move files to it at all on the phone or by drag/drop on the PC...
Anyone else with this issue or a known way to fix it?

Have you tried a different card or tried the card on your PC? Do both the internal and external storage drives come up when you connect to the PC? My Captivate once gave me a no external SD message when there was one in there. Took it out, reseated it and it was fine.
It worked when I put it in the first time but ebert since I took it it when doing a restore with odin 3 it doesn't work anymore not even with stock firmware

Is this a name brand card (Sandisk, Kingston, etc?) or a noname special? The cheap cards have high failure rates. You could try a PC USB reader, but you may have a dud.
Try a friends card and see, just to rule out your phone SD port.

Internal SD not found?

I've been searching and found no similar problems, so im posting this. My internal sd card shows up on in my storage settings. However ever since i removed my 2gb sd card, i can't take pictures because it said "please insert sd card..." Also going to gallery, my photo from b4 doesnt show up because it said "sd card unmount or not present." However i can play music and video that was already saved. and i can see the drive when plugging into my pc. I took out the sd card b4 and it never happend until now. I even try to use my sis sd card to put in and removed and still not solved. Any help would be greatly appreciated. If i can't solved it, i was going to reflash into cm7 or something. I have eagleblood atm.
try flashing the the same rom again, without wiping data.

[Q] SD card not mounting?

so, I recently bought a new sd card for my shift. I plugged it in to my phone and as my phone booted up, it says that the sd card is safe to remove. I found that weird. So I went into settings and tried to mount the sd card that way. Same message. Can someone help? I dont know what the problem is.

Wow. I was having formatting issues but turns out the switch on my SD adapter was set so that writing was locked. Thanks a lot!

[Q] Micro SD card problem

Hello all and everyone who may be able to help me out! I recently got a new phone (galaxy nexus) and decided to root and s-off my evo 3d. After another sad fail at s-off, my sd card was acting up. When its in a phone, it will say the card is blank or it is using an unsupported file system. Upon formatting option nothing happens. When i insert the sdcard into an adapter and put it into my computer, i can navigate to my computer and when i try to get into the drive, "my computer" crashes and i have to remove the card to get back to the start screen. I can use the drive for other things but it just wont read this card and makes the computer freeze. ive tried programs and whenever i try to select the drive, again the program im using crashes. Other cards work fine so it seems the card itself is the problem. worked fine before. Can anyone help me out here?
Had a similar problem a while back seems i had forgot to remove the password before plugging the card into my pc. Not sure how that will help you here tho.
replace the card and check if it is working than the card is defected

Is your phone able to read/detect your card?
If yes then:
Go to Phone Settings> Storage Settings> Unmount SD card> Erase SD card.
Report if that works.
If it's dead, most reputable manufacturers offer a warranty on their cards. Go to their website & look up the procedure for getting an RMA. That's much cheaper than buying a new card.

When the cards in my phone, it gives a notification saying that is an unsupported file system or that it is A blank SD card. When it is in the phone it will not let me erase. when I select Format, it's just kind of stops. and if I select it again, nothing. Can't use unmount or mount as they are greyed out. Wish I could format it.

I had a similar problem figuring out that moving Apps to external sd and then removing this sdcard CAN DESTROY the sdcard controller - better unmount card then remove it or switch phone off and remove it !
Even more worst - it's still working sometimes on any PC with adapter - if you have warranty on that sdcard i would replace it in the store bought !

ive had SD cards fail a few times without rhyme or reason, but corrupted data by doing the above more than once.
Go to Phone Settings> Storage Settings> Unmount SD card> Erase SD card.

Maybe i had luck - but since the failure i have been very carefully !
Nowadays sdcards should beeing built that writing more than 100000 times should be possible - so such an error should also not occur
but what the sdcards are very sensitive is heat - temperatures above 55 ° C (131 F) is almost a no go! (or increasing failure rate drastically !)

No when this failure appears - formatting is not possible anymore - the "controller" inside the sdcard is defect !

Just by replying with some information your helping me out. I have tried many SD card repair tools but when the card is in my computer, and if I do anything related to the card, the program just crashes until I pull the card out. I will post a video later. I've never seen this before. If nothing works I'm just gonna get another.
