has anyone found a place that sells the original sony metal strap for the sw2? I tried finding a no name strap and the sony strap looks the best.

i didnt find the sony orignal but there are alot more on ebay if you search for 24mm black metal watch bracelet.
I bought it with the metal wristband, and it doesnt look detachable. Its black stainless steel. It came with only the metal band.

The metal strap can be detached for sure... Instructions are shown on the user guide... My only issue is the strap is a bit big for me and there ?is no way to adjust it like the other straps?

It is detachable, as per manual, which you'll find here:
http://www.sonymobile.com/us/support/accessories/smartwatch-2-sw2/support-documents/
10 of the 7-7.5 mm wide joints can be removed. I removed 4 and I got a girly 17 cm circumference wrist. It had been so long since last time, that I didn't remember how to take metal straps of this type apart, so I used below video. I find her voice quite annoying, but it's some solid instructions :good:

Hi guys, I have a question about metal strap. Is it heavy on your wrist? If you have ever used Diesel metal strap watches can you compare to them? I live in USA but I am thinking to buy from Amazon.co.uk with metal strap and price is cheaper than USA price.
I've just got a SW2 with the metal strap but i could do with some extra links but after contacting Sony Support they don't sell them
Has anyone come across any?

i wouldnt say that its HEAVY really, but u can feel the weight, it feels solid, what i've learned tho is that i gets cold easily (of course it does, its metal) and getting it adjusted to your size is annoying, i'll be buying a silicon wristband soon.

Thanks for answer. Actually I have bought metal strap version from Amazon.co.uk 3 weeks ago. For me, it is not heavy at all. I am used to wear Diesel brand ceramic strap watches and they are much way heavier than this watch. Overall, I am happy with my watch
I just got my new metal band. I had the OEM Sony band but it was a link or two too small. This one fits GREAT and looks awesome. It's the 24mm type ii engineer band from Strapcode. I sold my metal Sony band for $100 on eBay.
I've gotten A LOT of compliments so far.

Thanks! Yep... $100.

You can't buy the OEM Sony metal bands anywhere. A lot of people purchased the rubber versions with the expectation of being able to pick up a metal band on the cheap. But, they soon learned that a GOOD 24mm metal band is pricey. The closest you can get to the OEM band is the Strapcode Bandolier model #SS242413BBK027 which sells for $190. I got mine for $150, well $50 if you subtract what I sold my OEM band for.

Mercury is a Korean brand, and it is "产地:韩国,MADE IN KOREA". Of course, this being taobao, it could also end up being an imitation.

The blue & green is really cool ! The problem with this sort of case it's that changes the way to hold the phone, it's less comfortable.

I know right! I'm using a similar case for my tablet, and I take it out whenever I'm at home. For the Nexus 4 though, that could be a very dangerous thing to do... Then again, with the current case I'm using, the bulk makes it difficult to have a one-hand operation anyway.
Ordered this case on Monday from ebay, just waiting for it to arrive from Korea to Singapore. Ordered Lime green/Navy blue and Mint/Navy blue. Will post again once I receive it.
This case is pretty good. The tpu inside is a tight fit and the speaker, cut outs are ample and precise. The colours are pretty funky too. This is the mint/navy blue version. Just received it today

Liking it so far. I think it's worth getting as it can protect the front screen although the power buttons are little tough to reach but it's possible to get used to. Using proximity screen off so that's not really an issue for me
Realize this thread is a little old but I just received mine today and am pleasantly surprised. I have tried a couple of flip cases for my Nexus 4 (Poetic, PDair) and have been disappointed. This one is nicely made, feels good, and has a nice magnetic clasp. I especially like the fact that, if you choose to put credit cards in it, the edges of the embedded TPU case prevent the cover from coming in contact with the screen.
It only failed one requirement I had for such a case... and that is easy removal. Since the back of the TPU case is covered with the hard wallet material, it makes it a bit tougher to get the Nexus out. But considering I have yet to be pleased with any of the other flip cases this is now no longer one of my requirements. A steal for under 10 bucks!

I'm located near Shenzhen China and have been to the stores, which are actually entire buildings, where they manufacture and sell these cases.
These cases are essentially replicas, but they definitely do a good job of copying the real mercury cases, down to the very minute details. Some stores have better replicas than others, for example these Fancy Diary cases may have the threading skipped on the edges, fraying, or discoloration. Here at ground zero, you can pick these cases up in bulk for $15 - $20 RMB which is slightly over $2 USD on average.
Not saying these cases aren't worth it, but just thought it would be interesting to let you know where these cases came from. Being that the price was so cheap, I definitely picked up a few cases myself for friends and family without even thinking twice.
Not being able to decide, which from the two should I pick. Any suggestion?

Look on Amazon. I did get one, but I wasn't happy with the finish, compared to the version shown in the thread (which I also have).
I would also love to see a replica Note 3 cover for the S4. I've looked on eBay, Amazon, and various other threads but haven't seen one that I really like. I have a blue leather pattern one on my S4 now, but to be honeset, it's rather ugly...:crying:
samsung may release a cover like that for our s4
Really want one
No way. Samsung will probably keep this design for the S5 or F series. However, I'm sure that somebody will launch a cover like Note 3's one day.
you can get a leather one from here, mine arrived today and although its quite expensive its a lot better than the one that amazon sells.
alot of cases you get out there can very cheap quality and not last long. id rather spend $20 on a good case then $10 on a case that will last a month
so anyone got any from ebay that is of good quality and is same as Note 3 ? There are alot of people selling now but don't know which one is worth buying. also that glossy sides turns me off.

Nice review. To condense it:
$$$
!!!
Early impressions were that people didn't like the snap method of affixing the case but I didn't have any issue with it and I like it.
My major criticism is with the edges of the case which have a raw, unfinished feel to them. If the cases were leather I would expect those edges to soften up with time but with this poly material, I don't know.
A major plus is that the cover doesn't add much bulk.
I had a difficult time finding a cover in my city. The one (the only one) a local Best Buy was carrying wasn't even in the Samsung section. The Samsung employees couldn't find it. I found it -- It was laying flat on a generic shelf labeled "tablet essentials".
Go figure.
I'm waiting on mine from Samsung. com. Is it heavy? Thanks.

Not sure what you're asking about magnets. The magnets are strong and once you get used to the folding schemes it easy to switch.
As far as long term wear my only concern is with the snaps. Only time will tell. This is by far the nicest case Samsung has ever made. I have their case for the note 8 and the note 2, never used either one for long. I don't think I'll even look at other cases for this, unless I want one with keyboard.

I was pertaining to the other half of the rear flap that does not attach it's to the rear of the tablet. Doesn't it flop around when holding with one hand since it doesn't have any magnets? I e been looking at reviews of this case (not that much) and everyone is saying it's a really nice cade, pro ably the first case made by Samsung with that high praise. No. When folding the cover back you simply fold the flap underneath leaving the camera exposed and it doesn't flop around. Love it.

I said it in anther thread too but for a leather pouch type case I wouldn't look past etsy, some really nice stuff, a lot of it handmade, many sellers will customise it for you and if you choose well you will get a much better leather than you would from a mass produced item unless you are prepared to pay top dollar.
Fitbag is my go to pouch brand. I love the beat black leather pouch as its got a lovely soft microfibre lining but they do loads of alternatives
Their website is in German, so you have to use Google translate or chrome, but they deliver just fine to the UK.
When you order just stick the name of your device in the box and its custom made to suit

No they don't, but the leather is extremely soft and very flexible (not hard and stiff like most pull tab cases), so I just grip the side of the case and push the phone out from the bottom through the case, it is very easy to do
Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
The Fitbag pouches are already on Amazon UK. I really can't decide between the Fitbag or the MediaDevil, the MediaDevil looks like it would add more protection but might be a bit bulky for me

]SK[ said:
I looked at the fitBAG on YouTube and not sure on the thinner material. The one from MediaDevil is thicker and has a pull tab. That said I stopped using the tab after a while and started to just tip or pull the phone out as the case took shape of the phone.
Being a thinner material and a snugger fit the fitBAG certainly looks to use less space.
I'm a bit worried after seeing the bend, scratch test. Maybe I need a stronger case.
Click to collapse
I think these bend tests are ridiculous, if you're putting that much concentrated force into a phone to snap the screen in HALF then in the words of apple "You're holding it wrong".
If you need a case to prevent the phone from breaking when you do load it that much, then a leather pouch, regardless of how thick it is is not going to protect the phone imo
I treat these pouches as form of protection from scuffs and scatches from dust/grit in your pockets, and if you accidentally rub a set of keys over it.

I can't help but think it looks like a used condom.
Certainly still nice but I'm so used to seeing my pouch looking stiffer.
I'm struggling to find better ways to say this without sounding so ooer.
Do you push the phone up out from the bottom like a callipo ice cream?

Yeah kinda like that, cos its so flexible I push up in the middle and hold the edge of the case, pushing the phone out.
It feels very much like a slim fabric sleeve but the with water resistance of leather, big bonus if someone spills a drink on it!
I used to have stiff cases that needed pull tabs, but hated the fact that the edges were wider and hard to accommodate the edge stitching
The fitbag one has no seam at all to speak of, the size of case and phone is basically just the phone so it cuts down on the size of the thing in your pocket, which for phablets is a big bonus
Soft MF lining is really nice too, cos its tight to the phone, it cleans the screen when the phone is inside and then when you pull it out its clear of prints

Have used fitBAGs (all Fusions) for my last 3 phones (Galaxy Nexus, Nexus 5, and my Nexus 6P.... if it ever arrives). Although they do not provide much pysical protection, and no drop, it has done me very well. I use a hard case when needed, but the fitBAG is my day to day case / pouch.
Hi there,
I really wanted a sleeve from SENA, but I don't believe their Android cases sell very well so I'm not holding my breath for a Nexus 6P sleeve (they themselves told me they wouldn't do a Note 5 sleeve due to this factor).
I snapped some pics of how my 6P fits inside my iPhone 6+ sleeve and also with my FitBag iPhone 6+ sleeve as well. The FitBag is a good fit, the Sena sleeve is unfortunately just a little too short to work well for the 6P.
Here is the Sena:

Not available yet for the 6P but I have one for my current Nexus 5 (had it for two years). I like the thing so much I will be ordering this again for my new 6P.
Don't forget 10.1% cashback on topcashback for this site to bring the price down somewhat.

Thanks for the advice man! I got this one recently and i'm seriously in love with it. Such quality.
Also they sent candy with the package. They really make work of their stuff.
I have already ordered 3 bands for the Gear S3, since it will take any 22mm band. 2 are Barton with quick release bands, and the other was a black Milanese stainless steel band, all from Amazon are very low prices. I want the Frontier due to cell phone capabilities, but either watch will let you customize with 3rd party bands, so get crazy and get some color ready for your S3 life!

Did you find any that extend out to you the edges of the Frontier like the stock strap?

Not sure about that, but all reports say it will take any 22 mm, so I assume they fit correctly. Will have to see what you mean my "to the edges", as I didn't notice that yet. Thanks.
Does this mean ANY 22 mm bands? I'm not familiar with watch bands which is why I'm asking. So I could just go pick up a 22 mm band and it doesn't have to say (for gear s3) and it would fit?

Yes, any 22mm watch band will work. Samsung actually didn't go with proprietary straps like the previous generation.

Awesome! I'll be doing a lot of searching on bands after I get this.
I got a few quick release silicone watch bands by MoKo - search Amazon - they are really great quality available in different finishes and colours
eg https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01MECM0JH/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
any 22mm should work
I've just got my frontier delivered in the uk and the plastic strap that comes with it is a bit ****. I've just put a standard 22mm leather strap I bought off ebay on it and very happy with the results.

Stingray Skinned 22mm Watch Bands
Recently went shopping for Stingray Skinned Watch Bands and Double Release Butterfly Clasps. I've found a couple bands that weren't too expensive (under 100+ USD). If anyone is interested I can provide a few links.

Ordered that for mine since I like the metal / stainless steel look.
I ordered & received this Milanese loop strap from Amazon.
Rerii 22mm Magnetic Milanese Loop Stainless Steel Band Strap with Quick-Release Pins for Moto 360 2 46mm / Samsung Gear 2,Gear 2 Neo,Gear 2 Live / LG G Watch R W100, Urbane W150 / Pebble Time Steel https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01F54LFP4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_JT5lybRWFJDZ8
I used the same strap on the Gear S2 and it was my favorite

The stock strap has the quick release pin. Will standard pins work on the watch for regular watch straps?

I ordered this one as well and it came in not having the edges covering the lugs of the watch. I have been back and forth with Moko all night and they said they do not produce what is pictured in the listing. I finally gave up and just got a refund. At least they have pretty quick customer service. The first picture below is that I ordered and the second is what I received in. They stated that all their bands were like the second one. Honestly it just felt cheap. I think I will look into swapping the band from my Suuto Core and see how it does.

Yes, I've put a 2 piece NATO strap on and it works fine. I suggest you pick up a watch strap tool, it's basically a very small fork designed specifically to manipulate springbars (that's what their actually called).

If you want to match the stock band you'll want a 22mm lug with 24mm shoulders to cover the ends of the lug. If you search for a Bell & Ross style strap it should be what your looking for. Also Casio G-Shock might return something as well. The other option is to buy a 24mm lug and cut it down to 22mm but you'll also need slightly narrower springbars.

It looks like the first picture doesn't cover the lugs either. I see the optical illusion that fooled you though.
