The subject says 'Most Note 3' but many of use have the SM-N9005 which I assume is not to be rooted using the 'SM-N900T Root' listed.
I'm still waiting for a reliable root method for my SM-N9005 from someone whose OP does not have loads of replies from people with problems!

Not much happening for the sm-n900 (Octa) yet. Understandable considering the knox counter 0x1 .........
When I (hopefully) get my Octa device, will probably use it as stock for the first few weeks, so hopefully anything requiring warranty will show up by then. After that, may start to have a play around, which in the meantime, doesn't stop me from taking a look at the source code

Hi guys,
Any idea how to get ACE 3 LTE (s7275r) rooted?
I have tried the rooting method for s7270/s7272, but not successful.
Hopefully got a brilliant dev able to come out a working root method.
Thanks in advance.
Why are you posting questions about Ace 3 in Ace 2 thread? And cut out that drama queen style please.

Can somebody with the Ace III LTE please post what files are found inside the /system/vendor/firmware/ directory ?
You can either show a screenshot or just copy / paste / write the names of the files in that folder here.
I need this info to establish what kind of wireless chipset in used in this phone before I can buy it.
Only some wireless chipsets support ANT+ functionality ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ANT+ ) and Broadcom wireless chipsets almost always support it.
Many thanks in advance for your help !

Thanks for trying to help but that is not the wireless chipset firmware, it is actually for NFC. Looks like the WLAN firmware is elsewhere.
Is there a directory named wifi inside there ?
/system/vendor/wifi or something inside /system/etc/firmware ?
A "dmesg" would be much more conclusive if you can.
If you are rooted you can either use terminal emulator or an app like SysLog or Lumberjack to get the "dmesg" / kernel log.
From terminal emulator you can do command "su -c dmesg > /sdcard/dmesg.log" and then it will be on your SD card.
See this thread for more information about getting the kernel log / "dmesg" : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2185929
That would easily allow me to determine the chipset 100% accurately.
Just make sure you turn wifi on before you get the logs. Many thanks again if you can help. I really want to buy this phone but I need to know exactly the chipset otherwise it will be useless for my sports equipment.

Heres the dmesg.
Thanks, but it clearly is using Qualcomm "prima" wlan driver and not Broadcom so no ANT+ for me.
How I found out ( may be useful for others looking to see wireless chipset of other devices ) :
wlan driver calls following functions "csrNeighborRoamPrepareScanProfileFilter", "csrNeighborRoamProcessScanComplete" and "csrNeighborRoamHandleEmptyScanResult"
I see the source code for this here : https://android.googlesource.com/ke...ging/prima/CORE/SME/src/csr/csrNeighborRoam.c
Anyway, thanks again for trying to help !
There are a couple of links to posts I'd like to share. One is to the Galaxy S5 themes and apps site and one to Galaxy S6 Edge. Both sites include some really nice generic Samsung bootanimations made by pas2001. pas2001 is a gentleman and really great guy. Please forgive the condition of the Galaxy S5 post. I am the op and really didn't know what I was, or am, doing, ha, ha. He was too busy at the time so I said I would do it. There are bootanimations scattered throughout.

Well correct me if I'm wrong but we cannot change our bootanimation since our bootloader is locked.
I say delete thread

Cool.. I'll do that. But in a thread I posted, someone answered my question about an official root. I think I'll wait for that instead.
In case that fails I'll use the method from post 23.

There is a separate sub forum for it. Unfortunately I'm driving and don't have the link available. It works fast and simple though.
