Dirty Unicorns (DU) is a custom ROM originally based off AOKP but now OMNI-ROM, brings you a great mix of stability and customization. The idea to start a ROM like this was purely out of boredom but later turned into a form of an addiction, a good one. We began to have fun while still doing things the right way. By doing so, we received high praise from not only our users but by fellow developers of other ROMs that enjoy seeing things done the right way. This ROM will always be free of charge without any strings attached or any of it's developers luring you into donating or any form of "pay to flash".

- Make sure you have the newest custom recovery
- Wipe everything but your external/inte rnal storage
- Move the ROM zip to your device
- Flash it and reboot
- Once the ROM boots, reboot back into recovery
- Flash the recommend GAPPS and ENJOY!!
- Recomend using the newest version of TWRP cwm has been known to give a status 7 error

I think its aokp based and i think pa apps are multi-dpi. In the end, you should use pa apps as they are recommended.

Download the ROM zip file to your SD card
Reboot to CWM/TWRP
Do a factory reset
Format /system
Flash the ROM using CWM/TWRP
(Optional) Flash gapps-ics-20120429-signed.zip if you want the Market plus other Google apps...
Reboot to the ROM
Let it sit for 10 mins
If you previously had IMEI/EFS problems, flash back to stock with my Heimdall OneClick, then Heimdall OneClick either AntonX's or Hampsterblade's kernel with CWM, then flash CM9 from there.
Flashing from 3.0.2.8 recovery does not work. Make sure the version of your recovery is 5.0.2.x (x being 7 or 8).

Again, I would love to keep AOKPCB going, however the team still has to discuss this past our plans for an R3 ICS release.

We hope you'll understand, and keep watching this thread, the PCB Mini-site, and its RSS feed for future updates!

Dao im still building from source so hopefully one remicks fixes the repo and fb will help me with the libcrypto problem which he got it for thomas so yeah
I LOVE THIS ROM!!!! I love the theme!! So tech-y! Lol. And finally someone that actually themed the pattern lock as well! Awesome job!!
For me build 2 would only boot into recovery. I checked the MD5 and did a factory reset but I can't seem to figure out how to get it to boot correctly. I am staying on AOKP until I can figure it out or until the next build comes out

The Emulated /0 folder is always going to be there, save all sdcard stuff on a PC or some where else before flashing.
If things are acting weird, or you have things going on and don't see too many people reporting it.
Redownload rom and gapps
Wipe via factory reset
Wipe dalvik and cache
Format System (upon flashing rom it will do this automatically)
Then flash rom and gapps, then reboot system. (boot the rom and avoid any 3rd party kernelsat all costs... if issues arise after installing a custom kernel, do not report them here expecting help, it just clutters and makes the rom look no good.)
KNOWN ISSUES
Having headphones plugged in while ending a call will cause a reboot.
Google Music is causing reboots, I use power amp in the mean time, try other music apps if experiencing the reboots
Instagram has a large bug with all S3 and AOSP for taking video.
Focal is crazy buggy at the moment expect issues on all fronts for now.
Keep em coming if you find em and I can replicate I'll post them here.
Expect BlueTooth issues unfortunately. If fixes are around please post them.
LockScreen options are stored in Security
Also if having issues, boot into safe mode and see if issues still persist. Boot into safe mode by holding power button and long press on reboot. This will boot you into no 3rd party apps mode, basically. To get out of it, just reboot normally
To enable root go into Dev Options, scroll to "root access" select adb and apps.If you are having root issues still after this, flash this and it should be fixed. At least other users are reporting so... I don't have any root issues.
For Titanium backup do this go into Settings | Preferences | Backup | Folder location | Detect whole device | select legacy
To enable Developer Options, go to; settings|about phone|tap build number 7/8 times
to enable reboot options,(recovery, download) enable advanced reboot in Developer options
You must flash Gapps everytime you install the rom as it wipes system every time. Use the gapps in the original post, if you use other Gapps keep those errors to your self and address the person/dev that made those Gapps.
Other
Facebook/Instagram acts up and is weird?? Stop using the app.
Update system apps before saying things are broken. (Google Now)
If you decide to run a 3rd party kernel, take your issues about; speed, battery, and reboots to that thread, we cant change their kernel to make it better for you, they can. Thanks.
For cell data when idle it is a 3g icon, then switches don't cry it's normal.

I know man but it also says 3.4 may give SOD. So I was asking if anyone is running ktoonz 3.4 with no issues so I can hopefully avoid getting a SOD situation.

The 3.4 stock kernel has been pretty buggy. I was on official cm 10.1 and had multiple SOD's. Ktoonsz 3.4 helped out a lot. But then again, some never had an issue with the 3.4 kernel. All just depends!

So use the basic 4.2.2 gapps?and is there away to remove nav bar I see it in settings but its not going away :\ also wish this had see thru/transparent lockscreen
With any widget on lockscreen aswell :\ very sick rom tho so this is a orange themed rom?

Yea I seen and did that and it wouldn't stick it wouldn't even go away and would just stay there and when in landscape the buttons are off the screen

You need to reboot and then it will be gone. No way to add/remove on the fly :thumbup:

yes please reboot after disabling the navbar... the team has made some changes/tweaks so ill have a new update coming soon with more collective goodies added to it
in propmodder select disable navbar . not remove navbar. then reboot I can verify this does work I just did it myself

Edit: Everything is up and running perfectly. It's been a while since I've been on a 4.2.2 ROM, but is there a way to remove the onscreen navigation buttons? Is it also possible to increase the size of the font? Seems really small (possibly because of the onscreen buttons).

im sorry if this is stupid but is halo included?
Awesome so far but every time I get a text a box pops up saying "unfortunately messaging has stopped"
^^^along with Gmail notifications may I add.
Not to mention WiFi seems broken, was gonna take 17minutes to download Facebook from the play store. Turned it off and was done in 4 seconds on 4g

Change to 0 percent

Same text notification popup... Quite annoying.... Other than that everything ive tried works smooth...

Just wanted to say of the recent Linaro builds, this one is my current fav... very customizable, fast, smooth, and works great with the latest Slim_Gapps.4.2.2.build.7.x.zip version, which means less cleanup afterwards. Thanks Cooptx!
