how can install cwm recovery please?

Thats great i was begging samsung kn all forums to plz not make it bigger than 5.8 or it wont fit my scrubs. Seems like they listened to me. There was a rumor of a 6.3 inch device and i didnt like that idea.

i would also like to know how to root and flash cwm. the website seems to have some information but it's in russian and even with google translate I can't figure how to flash recovery. do you think you can translate some info for us? I tried rooting with binary's method but although everything goes smoothly, i don't have root after reboot

as robin.raven indicated, there is a russian website having all sorts of information on how to root and flash cwm, but it's in russian and google translate doesn't help a lot

If you still want to know how to flash Ravenous ROM, you can do by following instructions.
- Download and copy zip file into SD Card (my card file format is FAT32)
- Install ROM Manager from Google Play
- Choose Flash ClockworkMod Recovery - it will notice your device isn't in device list, so choose manual install and choose version 3.x (my choice)
- Reboot to Recovery using ROM Manager
- Flash Ravenous ROM
- Reboot and enjoy
Note: my device already rooted from manufactory

Hey ramgear, about that process, didn't you get the Signature verification error for the zip file? I couldn't install it at all, even though the zip file from robin.raven seems to be signed. Tried copying it a bunch of times to no avail.
Of course ROM Manager didn't install any recovery at all, so I had to use the 3e recovery from the phone.
In that case, does anyone have an adb-pushable recovery or any other one? the one in the Russian forum has a set of instructions that I honestly can't understand at all.

3e Recovery always report signature fail for Custom ROM, so you need to install CWM Recovery.
For me, i have installed ROM Manager by download from http://download.clockworkmod.com/recoveries/RomManager.apk then install Flash CWM (1st choice) using ROM Manager program (internet connection required) and reboot into CWM Recovery (2nd choice) using ROM Manager.

How to use Offline ROM Flasher?
First you need to Disable your Antivirus and follow the instructions below.
-Install the Vega PC Drivers.
-Extract The Offline ROM Flasher and Copy the .BINX File inside the folder.
-Turn Off your phone and boot to download mode (Power + Volume Up + Volume Down)
-Connect your phone to your PC using USB Cable.
-Open the Sky Offline ROM Flasher folder and the click "Run_Sky_Server.exe"
-You must be running the latest Internet Explorer Browser
-Click the blue arrow and wait for it to load and download the file.
-After downloading your phone will reboot automatically.
-Pull out the battery and boot your phone to stock recovery (Volume Down + Power On)
-On recovery wipe Data Factory Reset and wipe Cache and then Reboot. (It is necessary to wipe after flashing stock rom to avoid stock on Sky Vega logo)

I figured out your problem, all you need is installing full driver for your phone. Tutorial i guide very carefully in How to install a stock rom for Vega Pantech

ZTE Grand S II Root and Install Custom Recovery WITHOUT COMPUTER!!! IN 2 MINUTES!!! 1

Hi guys today I'm going to show you how to root and install custom recovery on ZTE Grand S II in 2 minutes . NO COMPUTER IS NEEDED!!!!
Requirements:
1. 360 root (Chinese app) http://pan.baidu.com/s/1gd1rzMF

3. The Custom Recovery:

Wait till it shows numbers (don't forget it needs an internet connection to work)
Now open flashify and press home button after that open the shortcut that has been created by 360 root, you'll see flashify press it and you will get 3 colored options, press the green one.*(Or you may get a pop up)
Open flashify and in the tab restore/backup*
Backup ur stock recovery in case something wrong*happened to be able to restore your stock recovery
Now open the other tab and click recovery image then browse the recovery.img that we copied it in a previous step.
And select the first option that will pop up.
Now that's it!!! Congratulations!!! You have now a rooted and installed Custom recovery the Amazing ZTE Grand S II
And to grant any root access to any root app follow the same way that we did it for flashify.* Or will show you pop up.
Notes: •TWRP is in Chinese in order to make it English you must change the theme.
•Tested on ZTE Grand S II LTE (S291) running 4.3. Let us now on any version has you tested this method and did it work or not ??!!

5kkkkk I need the google apps because I am spanish and I need the play store of google. When I read your message, I tried flash one custom rom from needrom.com (miui v7, and before it worked ok), but i have a very big problem since I uploaded to B16 stock rom; if I use other rom diferent of stock B16, the touchscreen does not work... I dont know why!!, but this is true... and only one when I come back to stock B16 rom.. then the touchscreen works again :S.
I have everything (root, recovery CWM english) ready for flash, if you can upload one custom rom with google apps for zte s291 please.. i am desesperated (my mother languague is spanish, and i know a bit of english for to write this, so...).
Maybe if that custom rom with google apps is based about B16, my touchscreen could works. These custom rom are in zte forums, but all are written in chinnese... and for me this is imposible.

To restore touch function, you have to replace corrupted boot.img using ADB (my software version is B11, i used boot.img from B17)
If you want to root, it's better to use english CWM (which includes root) than using methods posted on XDA

Apply boot.img from B17 through adb and touch control will work fine (I had this problem after I've installed root)
Probably this is B17 software, but I don't remember (anyway - I've used boot.img from this rom to restore my touch control):

i need recovery ZTE GRAND S2 S221 if someone have this phone,

[ROM][4.4.2] REAL 1080P on CYX_809III V5_2 20141105 MK809III RTL8723BS

After trying numerous ROMs without success and always getting "boot loops", I finally found a way to activate REAL 1080P on my Android Mini PC!!
This is NOT scaled 720p! The display resolution of 1920x1080 was confirmed with the Hardware Info app from Google Play.
Model: CYX_809III V5_2 20141105 with RK3188 CPU and WiFi/BT chip RTL8723BS (2G RAM, 8G NAND)

Here's the long story of how I did it. DO NOT follow the steps! Just read them and scroll down to the next section.

1. First, I downloaded this ROM: MK809III,UH007B_8723bs_4.4_1080_20140924, which can be found at:

2. I flashed the ROM above using the "RKBatchTool V1.7" (see bottom of post for links). After flashing, it did NOT work and resulted in a boot loop. Next, using the following ROM backup tool, I made a dump of the "system.img" of the above ROM.

3. I then flashed the ONLY "working" ROM for this Mini PC (but 720p!), cyxtech_rk31_809iii_8723bs_141216_4.4_8g1g, which can be found at:

4. Using the ROM backup tool above, I made a dump of the "parameter.txt" file of this "working" ROM. Then I modified the parameter.txt to account for the larger system.img from Step 2, which I will flash in the next step. I then made a dump of all other partitions from this ROM, and packaged them in my new ROM below.
5. Finally, using AndroidTool V2.3 OR RKAndroidTool v1.37 (see link below), I flashed the system.img which I dumped in Step 2 (from the ROM in Step 1). Before flashing it I had to load the modified parameter.txt file from Step 4. Then I rebooted and Voila! I was able to switch to real 1080p in the settings.

For your convenience, I have created a new ROM. All partitions were extracted from the "working" ROM in Step 3, with the exception of "system.img" which is from the ROM in Step 1. In other words, this is a "hybrid" ROM made from (1) and (3)! As mentioned above, the "parameter.txt" was edited to account for the larger system.img.
When flashing this ROM in AndroidTool V2.3 OR RKAndroidTool v1.37 (see link below), first click on "EraseIDB" （低格） to remove all existing NAND contents (make sure you have backups!) Then select ALL of the following: Loader, Parameter, Misc, Kernel, Boot, Recovery, System. Put a checkmark in front of each one (including Parameter) and be sure to choose the actual file from the extracted archive by clicking on the rightmost column of each item. Clear other checkmarks, double check everything and when ready, click the "Run" （执行） button.
Your Android stick should auto-reboot right after the flashing is done. Therefore, it is recommended to connect the USB power cable (if you have a spare one) while flashing, and when finished, let the Android stick initialize for some minutes before unplugging it from power.
This ROM contains Android version 4.4.2 (KitKat). To activate 1080p, you MUST go to Settings -> Display -> Screen -> HDMI Mode and choose a 1080p resolution. SuperSU is installed BUT the system does not seem to be rooted. If you get a notification that the NAND Flash cannot be mounted, just click on it and you will be prompted to format it.
Again, if you do not have the EXACT device model mentioned in this post, STOP here and don't flash!

An issue with the new ROM was identified and fixed as of 7PM UTC on 05/18/2015. The updated ROM containing the fix had been uploaded. If you downloaded the ROM prior to the date/time above, please re-download it from the link in the first post and follow the instructions again.
All flashing instructions have been tested on my own device and confirmed working.

Thanks so much for posting this. I finally managed to un-brick my TV stick and get it working again, now with real 1080p!
I used RKAndroidTool v1.37, entered the offsets manually from parameters.txt according to your file and everything flashed successfully after hours of repeated attempts to flash various other ROMs. Originally I was trying to flash various Linux images unsuccessfully and I thought I bricked the device. Turns out I didn't. Thanks again!

I tried rotation apps, and it doesn't work. I think the sticks have the gyroscope disabled, do you know how i can enable it? i was trying to create a rom backup to edit the code but really don't know what i'm doing

Amigo, o meu estava assim, ele esquentava muito e reiniciava, então adaptei uma ventoinha de 5v e 4x4cm que comprei no ebay, soldei direto na usb, nunca mais deu problema, ja tem mais de um ano, voltei nesse site, procurando alguma att... porque android 4.4 ta por fora, gosto do Mk809, mas não atualiza netflix, kodi e nem roda h265x ... o que me resta é comprar outro, foram 4 anos de bom uso.

thanks sir.. but i encountered a problem again.. i successfully installed stock rom of s110, but now.. after installing the recovery.img or TWRP, then reboot to recovery, the screen got blurred images at first then reboot to TWRP recovery, the problem is touchscreen not working in TWRP so i cant install the kitkat rom.. please help .. thanks you very much..

While i am installing custom rom i forgot to install gapps.
Now i cant to go to recovery mode (TWRP) to install gapps.
If i install playstore from other mobiles it wont work.
Please suggest me, how to go to TWRP recovery mode or how to install gapps without recovery..

Cant move apps to sdcard. getting error INSTALL_FAILED_CONTAINER_ERROR. Is there a way to solve this?
