Some questions before I root ...

Hello every one
I just bought my HOX a few days ago .. came here to read and try to root it .. after some readings, (not enough ) i screwd up !
the bootloader is unlocked, and I successfully flashed the TWRP 2.2.0
didn t now about the tegra and the evita versions , so I tried the first time with endeavoru.img .. failed off course and ended up having the "tampered" above the "unlocked" ligne on the bootloader screen ..
after unlocking the bootloader ( and before flashing the twrp) when I tried to go to recovery via the bootloader , a red triangle apeared .. now that I have the TWRP i can go to recovery mode .. I assume that I can now do recoveries?
could you please tell me if I screwed up big time? or it is not big deal ??
Now I only need to root ... I saw the [TOOL] HTC One X (Evita) All-In-One Toolkit V1.1 [10-28-12] [PERM ROOT][Noob-Proof] thread and I am wondering if I can root it with it ..
If yes , can I go directly to " Extras/Perm Root"?? since I already unlocked the bootloader and installed a recovery ..?

HTC SDK API level : 4.11

you don't have the at&t version so you can htcdev unlock. since you are already unlocked with recovery installed all you need to do it flash a custom rom in recovery, or flash this in recovery http://download.chainfire.eu/267/SuperSU/CWM-SuperSU-v0.97.zip if you want to be stock rooted.

I believe 1.91 is the Telus version and I remember reading that you need to flash a rooted rom in order to root

That s right it s written on the box that it s a telus version ...
Could you suggest me please a rooted rom that i can safely flash in my devise

Once you get bootloader unlocked and install a recovery, then pick the rom of your choice and install. I believe they are all rooted, but someone may correct me on that. If you want a stock rooted rom, then search IN THIS FORUM for a stock rooted rom

Now when i chose the recovery mode in bootloader it ogives me the TeamWin tool , does this mean that i an good to go?
And to flash a routed rom ,i do it with the TWRP ? I dont need the cmd?and the command lines? It s done directly with the TWRP ?

Yes. Put the zipped Rom on your sd card. And install it in twrp and you're done.

Hey area51 , you also have a telus one .. thanx for all ur advices .. I am now loocking for the roms .. hard to chose ...
I can flash anyone of them ? regardless of the firmware version ? or the kernel .. etc etc .. the only thing that matters is that the rom is for htc one x (evita, telus) ?? or do I need to be carfull with versions etc etc ??
last question .. Can I do what DevineLord said and only flash the CWM-SuperSU-v0.97.zip in the recovery ? will that keep my stock rom and make it rooted?

You can flash anything in this forum. Avoid the international forum as those roms will brick your phone. Not sure if flashing supersu works as I never tried. But it won't hurt you to try it and find out. I'm curious too. As far as which Rom to flash. Try them all! Play with the settings in each one and see which suits your needs the best.
We recommend reading the last 10 pages or so of the Rom thread to see what issues people are experiencing

I can now tell you , yes it works !I only flashed the supersu , and I am now rooted !

HTC one XL (UK) rooting?

Hi all After many hours searching and attempting different root methods without success, I have came to ask if anyone can help me?
Tried the one click rooting method without success
The X-factor root exploit also with no success.
My phone is HTC one XL 32gb
Android version 4.0.4
Firmware is 2.34.61.2
Completely stock.. if it matters my carrier is t-mobile/EE
If anyone can help me root I would be greatfull. Also sorry of this is the wrong phone discussion as there is no topic for One XL

Are we sure there is ONE XL in the UK? not keen on moving it without knowing exactly.

Actually yes, i have had one in here before, but let's be sure then ....
@ the OP, please put your phone in the.bootloader and tell us what's written on top. Does it say EVITA or ENDEAVORU ?

Ah yes, then you have to go to the at&t rogers HTC one xl forum ... of flash something from here you might end up with a bricked phone. I suggest that whiskey will move this to the correct forum.

I also have the UK One XL
Rotting is easy, use the HTC method, it's in this forum just have a quick look
I currently run ViperXL rom but any rom in the Rogers forum here should work
Also my hboot is 1.14 and for me this means no boot/kernel flashing works through recovery so I have to use fastboot
So quick someup:
Use HTC method to unlock bootloader
Fastboot flash recovery (I use twrp)
Flash rom in recovery
If rom fails to boot:
Fastboot flash boot (will be in main directory of the rom you downloaded)

[Q] Cant enter recovery menu

Hey guys...
I've just got an One S and wanted to root it. So i unlocked it via htcdev and the problem is that after flashing the recovery with CWM (i tried also TWRP) and booting recovery in bootloader, it stucks... there is only the htc logo and a red label... i searched the forums here, and i am not the only one with this problem but they dont have a solution either...

i think there are 2 versions in germany...one from "vodafone" and another one, which i have ^^...

Yes there are 2 versions and it shows this in the latest download of 'Hasoon's All In One Tool Kit'.

I attached an image... it's S-ON.. It supports Eng, Fre, and Spa only... but I need Arabic support.
Now I have a couple of questions
Can I have S_OFF?
If not what is the best recovery and custom rom with full sense with Ara support ? of course taking into consideration the details provided about the device?

[ HELP ] HTC One XL doesn't work bootloop

My friend's HTC One XL ( Evita ) is stuck on HTC logo after flashing the ElementalX-6.7 ..
the bad thing that he missed to make a nandroid after unlocking the bootloader . I tried all the kernals in this thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1671237
but , nothing happened ..

If the phone is the international One X you're posting in the wrong forum. This is the One XL forum. Also, the thread you linked to is for the One XL.
We need to identify the phone properly. Go into bootloader and tell us what model it is, Evita or Endeavoru?

Hmm... Evita_utl... I haven't seen that before. It must be some kind of XL variant. There's very little information available about it online. Whereabouts in the world are you?
PS. For now, I wouldn't try flashing anything else just in case. Don't flash anything until we can be sure it's safe for your device.

It's a middle east version .
from Saudi Arabia
My device is Endeavoru .. I can do what I want and go back to stock when I want but, I don't think that the Endeavoru's kernels will work on Evita ..

Absolutely do not flash anything from the Endeavoru forum onto this phone, it will cause a brick.
As for flashing Evita kernels/ROMs into the phone, I'm really not sure, I've never seen the Saudi variant before.

Can get into bootloader? If so, you should be able to get into recovery.
