So, from this announcement, are we to assume that they finally got it to work on the HD/+? I know that for a while now, we've been told that it wouldn't boot and that they are working on it. Should we take take this announcement as evidence that it is now working?
Just curious, cause I'm lazy and don't want to flash it if it won't work.
Thanks for confirming.
Sent from my Nook HD+ with unofficial Slimbean on emmc using Tapatalk 4

Tried it this morning, no go, I get a dark screen at reboot and nothing else. I did a full wipe as usual. Going back to Carbon.

I initially spoke with Prime Directive when I saw the first build for Ovation by nuclearmistake and informed him that it wouldn't boot past the bootloader. He told me to get in touch with DHO and DHO said he was working on it.
Anyway, I notice that the builds you have linked are from nuclearmistake and not DHO. So, going forward, which builds will we see and are you going to be the maintainer for this device?
Looking forward to getting this going, as it's an awesome rom on my N7 grouper.
Thanks,
Mike T

Going to look further into it after work, can't get far enough for adb to recognize the device though.

Same for me, DHO asked me to get him a logcat but being unable to get past bootloader prevented device from being recognized. I hope you can get further. Btw, just for the heck of it, I tried substituting the boot image from CM 10.2, Carbon 4.3 and your Slim rom but it still failed to boot.
Although I figured that the boot image was the same( same filesize) for those 3 roms, I tried all 3 anyway.
Mike T

i got the same black screen also. hope to see it running, sounds interesting.

@killersloth: Lemme know if you can fix it

Still nothing? Or has this been working and I just never heard about it yet?

I have been using the Vanir rom on my GS3 for a couple days and I love the speed and smoothness. I look forward to using this on my Nook HD if it gets working. Any updates?

Here is an unofficial build I did that boots up fine:
vanir_ovation-UNOFFICIAL-20131023.zip - 151.04 MB
However, the ROM is very glitchy on our devices. In addition to the usual rotation bugs (and the Wi-Fi bugs introduced by a recent CM commit), there seems to be a whole new batch of graphical issues.
If anyone wants to start bug fixing this, you can PM me for some suggestions on how to resolve some of the typical problems our devices have.
If you want to build this yourself, you only need to replace Vanir's proprietary vendor repo with the proper one from TheMuppets, like so (this is pulling from my fork on github):
Code:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<manifest>
<remote name="github_kimjisoo"
fetch="git://github.com/kimjisoo" />
<remove-project name="vendor_bn" />
<project path="vendor/bn" name="proprietary_vendor_bn" remote="github_kimjisoo" revision="cm-10.2" />
</manifest>
Vanir's build system is a little odd, and took me a few tries to figure out. Basically, you need to run "make -j# otapackage" after lunch, or it doesn't give you a flashable zip. There was no brunch option...

How's the lag compared to other available ROMs? Thanks!

I wouldn't be worried about lags, as the only bootable version of this rom is the unofficial one posted one post above yours by jisoo. LOL It's very glitchy and quite unusable, also with the OP nolinuxparty's account currently disabled, I don't think we'll see anything too soon from Vanir...if ever.

What is Evervolv?
Evervolv is an AOSP (Android Open Source Project) rom. We're fully open sourced and encourage it with no restrictions. The work put into this rom is community driven and and Evervolv Project is made up of numerous members and contributors. And this whole time we were receiving 4.3 nightlies
Right now the current source we are working on is Jellybean (Android 4.3.x).
Current version: 3.3.0p1
Nightlies (starting 8.28.2013) available for testing. Once issues are re mediated, a release build will be posted.
Pre-Requisites:
1. CWM or TWRP
2. S-Off, or thorough understanding of how you work around S-On to get the kernel included in this ROM flashed. FAUX, CM kernels are not compatible and will result in functionality issues if it boots at all.
3. Desire to be helpful in an appropriate manner. Logcats, dmesgs, etc are very helpful, and necessary to assist.
4. Full data wipe/factory reset
Downloads:
http://www.evervolv.com/devices/speedy - Named "ev_speedy-nightly-2013.xx.xx-squished.zip"
This requires gapps for 4.3, do not use 4.2 gapps.
Where do we get the GApps?
Edit: I got them from HERE. 20130813
Edit2: Wow this works great right out of the box! Nightly 10-2
thanks, runs great so far. only issue i see right now is i cant take screenshots, keeps telling me storage might be in use but its not.
Confirmed on my end. Screenshot isn't working for me either. I'll try to get a logcat later tonight.
Here is the logcat I got when attempting to get a screen shot. I hope this helps.

this will me mine too
This Thread will be reserved for only the official releases.. I will be doing my own personal release with custom kernel and added features that are not included in official pa releases..
my personal pa releases will have
DarkUI (darkPA)
custom kernel
added features picked from other sources that I think are cool
.. and more info later
You can find my personal releases HERE IN THIS THREAD for other aosp and custom built roms from source for d800/801/802/803
I think it's pretty useless building 2 roms when they are both exactly the same except for the kernel.. I also provide a flashable kernel for your variant.. I will see how it all goes and decide what to do from here on.
I made it alittle different from CM for now. the device will be called LG-G2 not LG-D800 or LG-D803 .. I did it this way so that any d803 or d800 can flash each other's rom.. the only thing is u have to replace the boot.img of your carrier before flashing..
more news to come. thanks and enjoy
Downloading, thanks!

Tried both of these..clean wipes of course, and they work perfect just like all of your roms on the E970..keep up the good work!
I liked this rom a lot, but how can we get knock off to work? I know on CM you install nova, would that be the same with this or does that mess up the launcher that's on there? sorry new to this stuff.

Working perfect so far here!
One thing that is bothering me and this may just be a change in a newer Play Store or something, but there is no "My Apps" under the menu any more in the Play store, you have to click on the top left store icon to get to My Apps. Can anyone report back if this has been the case in other roms with newest GAPPS or is this Rom/This Rom specific?
one thing I just noticed is the play store won't always connect
I keep getting bootloops
wiped cache,dalvik,system, data
flashed rom, gapps
boot,boot,boot,boot,boot
checked DL's
redownloaded
got same result
Am I just an idiot and cant get it to work or what?

Finished setting it up and restoring apps. Digging it so far, everything seems to be working though I havent tried a few things such as the camera or gallery yet.
All these ROMs tend to share the same issue: the camera doesn't work.
I noticed this with a few ROMs I tested on my phone as well - something about the cameras always seem to take longer to get working.

Just had quick talk with @Chirag_Galani in regards to this ROMs future and he has said to hopefully have some more AOKP builds for us by the end of May as he has been studying for his final exams (Good luck :good.
Due to PC format issues he also has to work on the ROM from scratch but says the expected build will be bug free and will have far more stability, features and various enhancements in the ROM.
Ok guys.
Just to inform you I have not forgotten this thread. Yesterday i had compiled a build and it had some bugs which i expect to debug at my earliest and post an update to this ROM for your device.
Sorry for the delay but I had my final exams, studies and busy life. Now things have improved and I have started Android Development yet again.

It's not CM11, it shares the bugs and kernel config as i forked sultan's sources and adjusted them a little bit for omnirom
A few reasons this is (to my opinion) better than CM11:
- More buttons, everyone should like that :3
- Non-commericial
- and some more, just try it!

Yeah, finally, we got it: OmniROM!
Yay, new rom! Much appreciated man.
I'd also like to see some PA roms come to life
Looks worth a try.

Firefox OS will be great
ParanoidAndroid will be great...
Hope this is an early build,had lot of bugs *Bluetooth pairing up but unable to receive files
*Apps not downloading from Google play
*Quick settings tiles are not responsive
*Screen of animations not working
*Downloaded file manager from browser as the build doesn't have one(Google play can't download it)but when I tried to open it from downloads it says unable to open,so this is the major bug currently I'm unable to browse my files in this build,the only way is to add a file manager in the ROM zip.
*But the rom is quite smooth good work.
*Thanx for your support hope you look after these bugs as this is just a first build,waiting to get this stable

[ROM][4.4.4][Unofficial] CarbonROM Source Build

Hey fellow Atrix 2 users, here's my first ROM built from source: Carbon. I realize that there is s port already form the hard working A2EPT (and much faster than myself!). I built this a few weeks ago and thought I'd share it anyway (with their consent). It runs prettys smooth and has been trouble free for myself, hopefully it's the same for you!
About

We are dedicated to fast, stable, and feature-filled roms, honesty and communication with our users, and openness with our code. We like frequent builds, with the very latest and greatest hardware support and fixes. We strive to not only provide you with the best rom we can build, but also to give back to the Android community and our fellow developers. For us, this is about creating something we can be proud of and hope you will enjoy.
Please feel free to look at, build, and use our code on CarbonDev GitHub.
We would like to thank CyanogenMod for their device trees, framework/settings mods and their code that was incorporated into this project. We also extend our gratitude to the devs whose code that we have incorporated. Proper authorship has been maintained and can be viewed on our repository.
Special thanks also go to Slim Rom for some of their features, AOKP, and anyone else we may have borrowed commits from that hasn’t been mentioned here. If you feel you have been unfairly left out, please – let us know.

It is using CM's kernel but I read that altered was making more changes to it over the last couple of days so I might be missing some of them. My machine is syncing some sources for another ROM at the moment, I'll rebuild it this afternoon and post it.

I ran it with jbx for a bit and it worked fine. I think it's on par with the other roms for battery life. It's hard for me to tell though as my battery is terrible. I ordered a new one last week.

In Apps/Running Services there is a "Carbon Delta" process always running. I don't see something similar in other Roms ?

You wouldn't see it in other ROM's because it's specific to Carbon. I believe it's related to their OTA updates. I just disabled it on my phone and everything is fine. Maybe I can look into disabling it out of the box.
I used Link2sd to freeze it and everything works ok. I'll keep it frozen for a few days just to make sure.

Just posted 4.4.4. I sounds like it's just security updates. Carbon has made some minor changes as well. Enjoy!

Alright friends, I posted a new build. It took a while longer than I'd have liked, I accidentally trainwrecked my data drive a few weeks ago and I finally got the time to rebuild it. It wasn't so much that it took a long time to restore it, work just got in the way Enjoy!
